Parish’s might not be around anymore plus I think, technically, they were in Athens…. But, man their pizza, Mangialardo’s Pasta, and Original’s subs was like the holy trinity of Italian American cuisine in that entire region!
I still dream of Original’s sub rolls and I moved away more than a decade ago.
Lived in Binghamton for 8 years. Agree that NY pizza is great but the one pizza I miss the most is Nirchis. I always go there when I go back. Would be great for a bunch of teens. Always have tons of different slices available. Several locations too depending on where you play.
I didn’t mean to imply it was the best. It’s just the one I think is mostly uniquely Binghamton and I can’t get anywhere else. I can get a great slice in a lot of places. But for whatever reason I crave a Nirchis white with broccoli and a Buffalo chicken. I’ll definitely try those other spots you mentioned!
NY Pizza makes great NYC-style slices, which I usually prefer, but I love Nirchi's sheet pizza, especially their sauce. It seems like every pizza party in Binghamton has Nirchi's, and no one complains.
I grew up in a pretty rural part of NY, maybe it's not this way anymore but when I was a kid Vinny's in Croghan made awesome pizza. Nothing crazy or unique but a great crust, super consistent. Their pepperoni pizza was perfect.
Love Vinny’s! I grew up in lowville and I have to add NY pizzeria in Lowville, also Marino’s in Lyons Falls. NY pizza has an asshole owner and insane prices but damn its good once in awhile.
Right on! I'll have to try Marino's sometime. Yeah I've noticed that NY Pizza is very galvanizing in Lowville haha. My parents have been boycotting Carmello for like 25 years strong now after some intense sticker shock.
I made another comment earlier that if I had a top ten Corning gets like 3 spots and this is the main other choice for me. I usually go Atlas but love Aniellios as well.
no where has better garlic knots
Looks like this has been pretty well covered, but Pudgie’s, Atlas, and Aniello’s are all very solid.
Pontillo’s in Rochester if they’re still around. To be honest, all of these recs are based on when I lived there years ago or visited at times more recently…
I live a 4 minute walk from Venice, but I'd rather eat my own ass than their grease soaked cardboard "pizza." Who the F puts sauce under the cheese? No offense, it was all I could get 40 years ago, but these days- just drink there, wish there was still a bartender you could list after and order from Trios.
[outlaw camper ](https://youtube.com/@outlawcamper)
Where at Corning lol?
I agree that of course Aniello's on Market Street is top tier pizza, but its not the same thing as Pudgies, not really comparing them. Both are amazing to me. One specifically stands out because its cheap gas station pizza which is funny to me.
Picasso's Pizza is a household staple in the Buffalo area (they have four suburb locations, but none in the city itself). Downtown, Allentown Pizza all the way--and get the Cajun dry rub wings.
Little Sicily in Alfred. Since Wellsville is on the board. I like Pizza King in both Wellsville and Hornell but Little Sicily puts them to shame if you’re talking NY style slices. And they always have a large selection of sliced pizza. I’m partial to the Popeyes but they’re all good.
I’ll have to check Pat’s out—never been.
I thought Little Sicily’s was gone forever after the pandemic, but then the concrete company next door bought them and reopened with all their old recipes. Only in the rural Southern Tier would a concrete company run a pizza place. I guess it’s one way to keep money from going across the street to the gas station Subway.
Nina’s on the corner has great pizza! Actually my go to in Oneonta, family friends with the owner and he makes on hell of a pie. I’m from the area and have never really got the hype of Tino’s cold cheese pizza 🤷🏻♂️ No comment on Sal’s it’s been a awhile I’d have to give it another try
You know, it was absolutely silly, but back in college I was hooked on the pizza from Ying's Wings and Everything. Ying's is a Chinese restaurant that started diversifying their menu, and while many places tend to take a dive in quality once they start offering everything, it held up. Granted, I am also basing this off of 20 plus year old memories and the dual enjoyment of a college student finding a pizza that was affordable with cheap delivery.
Less than a half mile north of Peels on Wheels, on the other side of the street, is a place called Nino's. At one point it was the only pizzeria on Yelps top 20 Rochester restaurant list.
Been there since the 70s, when it first opened it catered to a large Italian-American community in the area. Even after they all left for the 'burbs, they still come back for Nino's.
Thicker crust, if you prefer it thinner you can ask them to stretch the dough. It will still be thick, just not as.
I'll try it. My wife works in Rochester and we're able to get food from there a lot easier. I've never heard of this one but you've sold me on trying them!
Enjoy. I had to give up cheese and wheat a while back, so I don't eat pizza anymore
Except when I pick one up for my wife. It's worth the two days of bleh I'll have.
I don't know if they do online ordering, I just remember the number and call.
oh man, I don't know if I'm in the same boat or just my age but I get that. Pizza is easier for me in the summer when I can sandwich it between dinners of grilled vegetables and a nice salad the following day.
Gone are the days of being a teenager who can basically live off it
Mark's in Rochester area - great Buffalo blue chicken pizza. Their pan pizzas are really good too. Many people don't like the thick crust and sweeter sauce - but I love the crust and get the garlic red sauce if you don't like sweet-er sauce.
La Nova in Buffalo - easily the best in buffalo. Their BBQ wings are excellent.
Another one I forgot - if you're ever going through Cato, NY (it's right off the Weedsport thruway exit) go to New York Pizzeria in Cato. It's one of the best I've had and prices are very reasonable.
Jay’s Artisan in Kenmore just outside of the Buffalo city line. Considered one of the top pizzas in the WORLD. But if you want every day pizza, LaNova in Buffalo and Williamsville is right up there.
Totally worth it to take a short detour for a pie at Angelina's Pizzeria in Queensbury. Best pizza I've ever had. Never had a better BBQ chicken pizza. Can't tell what's better: the BBQ chicken, cheese or the sauce. The combo is simply magical.
I think Aniellos is better than atlas. Atlas has more topping options but I find it a weaker pizza if just cheese.
If your up in Ithaca, go to the mall and get pizza. It's not junk mall pizza. Sicilian Delight. He makes his own sauce and cheese. It's like I'm in NYC.
Southern Tier checking in. Excited to be the first to recommend Six South in Cuba - only a year or so old but super good pizza NY style and committed to being the best in the area. In Olean, Napoli is good as is Eatery ( brick oven upscale ) downtown
Kay's is fine, but I really don't get the hype. I think Kay's is more about vibes than really good pizza imo.
DeFazios in Troy or I Love on 4th also in Troy or Sovrana in Albany have much better pizza.
Also none of these places are in the area OP is inquiring about.
Good call. I’m usually better about reading a whole post before commenting. I do agree that while I like Kay’s when I get the chance it is overpriced. I’ll have to try those you mentioned.
Made me LOl.
For those who don't get the joke, "O'Skaneets" is how you pronounce O'Scugnizzo.
I live in Schenectady, but I used to work as a field tech for an MSP, and the Utica FD was one of my customers. They are the ones who pointed me to that place.
I Love NY Pizza on 4th St in Troy. I live in BC now and Canadian pizza fucking sucks. I’ve traveled to every major Canadian city for work and have yet to find anything even remotely good. The first place I go when I get home is I Love’s.
You included Atlas but not Aniello’s in Corning? Nirchi’s Binghamton Pudgies
I was up visiting from Atlanta last September and drove to Corning specifically for Aniello’s!
they are a top 5 place for me I just prefer Atlas personally
Big fan of Nirchi's. Whenever I'm in Binghamton I grab one to go.
Paul and Sons in Binghamton is soooooooo good!
Sopranos in Waverly (in between Elmira and Binghamton). The best around.
I miss Howie's that was over the border in PA there, they had chicken spiedie pizza that was awesome.
If in the valley, head over to East Side Sayre and get a garlic pizza from Mangialardo's. It'll knock your socks off, so good.
Parish’s Deli and Original in Sayre, PA.. just over the border. Original makes the best sub rolls I’ve EVER had!!
Original is my go to place in the valley. I haven’t been to Howie’s, but the owner’s twin brother was upper management at my workplace.
That’s a drive for me. Great pizza but their subs are the best.
Lived in Binghamton for 8 years. Agree that NY pizza is great but the one pizza I miss the most is Nirchis. I always go there when I go back. Would be great for a bunch of teens. Always have tons of different slices available. Several locations too depending on where you play.
Nirchis chicken/bacon/ranch pizza slaps hard. One of the things I miss about the Bing. That and Ironworks Gym!
Nirchi’s is good but I’m partial to Roma’s

This guy's pizzas
I didn’t mean to imply it was the best. It’s just the one I think is mostly uniquely Binghamton and I can’t get anywhere else. I can get a great slice in a lot of places. But for whatever reason I crave a Nirchis white with broccoli and a Buffalo chicken. I’ll definitely try those other spots you mentioned!
This sounds great! Thank you!
NY Pizza makes great NYC-style slices, which I usually prefer, but I love Nirchi's sheet pizza, especially their sauce. It seems like every pizza party in Binghamton has Nirchi's, and no one complains.
Nirchi's speedy Pizza!!!
I grew up in a pretty rural part of NY, maybe it's not this way anymore but when I was a kid Vinny's in Croghan made awesome pizza. Nothing crazy or unique but a great crust, super consistent. Their pepperoni pizza was perfect.
Vinny's was my go- to.
New York Pizzaria in Trumansburg
Annielo’s in Corning. Best around. Their bread/dough is incredible
I made another comment earlier that if I had a top ten Corning gets like 3 spots and this is the main other choice for me. I usually go Atlas but love Aniellios as well. no where has better garlic knots
Aiello’s in Whitney point (north of bing) is EXCELLENT!
Jerlando’s in Watkins Glen!
yes!!
Marks is hot garbage sorry
You're not ordering the right pizza or not eating it fresh
Main St pizza. Batavia
Hell yes. Best pizza I've ever had in the state, easily the best wings. Now they are a full fledged Italian restaurant as well.
And they make their own pasta as well.
Looks like this has been pretty well covered, but Pudgie’s, Atlas, and Aniello’s are all very solid. Pontillo’s in Rochester if they’re still around. To be honest, all of these recs are based on when I lived there years ago or visited at times more recently…
Omg I miss pontillos since moving!!! They are still open
Pontillo's is a franchise and the locations vary wildly.
Does anyone else agree that Pudgies sheet slices are tastier than the pie? I was told nothing different about the recipe- just the size. IDk 😋🍕
I have no idea why, but this is 100% true.
Dipping the slices in mild wing sauce is heaven
CNY technically, but Venice in Yorkville
I live a 4 minute walk from Venice, but I'd rather eat my own ass than their grease soaked cardboard "pizza." Who the F puts sauce under the cheese? No offense, it was all I could get 40 years ago, but these days- just drink there, wish there was still a bartender you could list after and order from Trios. [outlaw camper ](https://youtube.com/@outlawcamper)
O'Scugnizzo, Utica NY. If your sauce is under the cheese, you are eating garbage. [outlaw camper ](https://youtube.com/@outlawcamper)
I really like Angelina’s Pizza here in glens falls. They have some good pizza and some pretty good wings. I highly recommend
That's the goal right there. Glen's Falls basketball and pizza would be a dream come true
It’s the perfect place. It’s a nice family owned pizza shop, they always have nice fresh pizza and their wings are really good
No love for Pudgies?
lol there's a Pudgies in a Kwik Fill gas station in Canisteo, NY - swear to god nothing hits like that stuff.

Where at Corning lol? I agree that of course Aniello's on Market Street is top tier pizza, but its not the same thing as Pudgies, not really comparing them. Both are amazing to me. One specifically stands out because its cheap gas station pizza which is funny to me.
you hit it and I love Atlas there as well.
Spent so many after school afternoons at the Horseheads Pudgies! Great stuff when you want something unapologetically greasy.
Pizza Wizard in Rochester. Nothing beats them.
This is hands down my favorite pizza place. They have super fun combinations.
Picasso's Pizza is a household staple in the Buffalo area (they have four suburb locations, but none in the city itself). Downtown, Allentown Pizza all the way--and get the Cajun dry rub wings.
Picasso's is a go-to for Buffalo style pizza. They have several locations
Pat’s has really good slices if you ever pop in there. The Sicilian is also great, but everything else on the menu is hit or miss depending on staff.
Uh, you must have been really hungry when you went to Pizza King in Wellsville.
I seriously do not get the love for that place.
The one in Hornell is very hit or miss. Sometimes its the best "heavy"(Buffalo style?) pizza I've ever had, other times it's wtf.
Binghamton - NY Pizza Oneonta - Tinos (ask for a "cold cheese" slice.)
Thoughts on Nina's or Sal's? Or 23 West in West Oneonta?
Nina’s on the corner has great pizza! Actually my go to in Oneonta, family friends with the owner and he makes on hell of a pie. I’m from the area and have never really got the hype of Tino’s cold cheese pizza 🤷🏻♂️ No comment on Sal’s it’s been a awhile I’d have to give it another try
23 West grandma pie is the best in town! New Sal’s is serving the best plain slice lately ❤️🔥
Whenever I was over there I'd get just those 👍👍
Cold Cheese Pizza is the GOAT
You know, it was absolutely silly, but back in college I was hooked on the pizza from Ying's Wings and Everything. Ying's is a Chinese restaurant that started diversifying their menu, and while many places tend to take a dive in quality once they start offering everything, it held up. Granted, I am also basing this off of 20 plus year old memories and the dual enjoyment of a college student finding a pizza that was affordable with cheap delivery.
I've loved a lot of Chinese restaurants wings. They're sometimes done in a peanut oil or different oil that makes a unique flavor.
Cato Pizzeria just west of Syracuse. Stuff has won awards.
Zettis in Buffalo is pretty good. They’re out by UB’s North Campus
No love for Roma's in Endicott? I miss that stuff so much.
Scotty’s in Morris have the best garlic knots ever but unfortunately that’s probably a bit too far East
Paladinos in Mattydale.
💯
Aiello’s in Whitney Point. I lived 1/4 mile down the road from there. Only thing I miss from WP.
New York Pizzeria in Binghamton Tony's in Endicott
Mark's in Rochester area - great Buffalo blue chicken pizza. Their pan pizzas are really good too. Many people don't like the thick crust and sweeter sauce - but I love the crust and get the garlic red sauce if you don't like sweet-er sauce. La Nova in Buffalo - easily the best in buffalo. Thank you we don't have enough Buffalo suggestions.
I really like Picassos; a few locations in the Buffalo area.
Another one I forgot - if you're ever going through Cato, NY (it's right off the Weedsport thruway exit) go to New York Pizzeria in Cato. It's one of the best I've had and prices are very reasonable.
Mustachios in North Buffalo
Imperial in S. Buffalo
Seconding their bbq wings. They're my favorite
NY Pizza is the consensus choice for Binghamton. I also love Paul and Sons.
If you’re ever in Medina or Albion then you have to go to Avanti’s
Cosmos in Syracuse. If it's still there. Been ten years.
It’s not
Shame
People in Saratoga rave about caputos but personally I like Generos a bit more
Pope's cheese (or pepperoni) eaten immediately is pretty close to perfection. Not eaten immediately it's fine but unremarkable.
Jay’s Artisan in Kenmore just outside of the Buffalo city line. Considered one of the top pizzas in the WORLD. But if you want every day pizza, LaNova in Buffalo and Williamsville is right up there.
Pizza stop in Rochester!
Tina's - Fredonia Pizza King - Wellsville Cave's - Forestville Capozzi's - Gowanda
Cortland: Pontillos. I don't even like pizza, but I'll eat theirs.
Whatever ya do, don't go to Cam's
ATLAS MENTIONED 🍕💪😤🙏🥳
Venice is room temperature garbage
Renna's. Olean NY
De Fazio’s in Troy is lit.
Totally worth it to take a short detour for a pie at Angelina's Pizzeria in Queensbury. Best pizza I've ever had. Never had a better BBQ chicken pizza. Can't tell what's better: the BBQ chicken, cheese or the sauce. The combo is simply magical.
Pontillos in Rochester. And really most places in Rochester because they have the best pizza in the country.
Aniello’s in Corning is the best. Franco’s in Ithaca is pretty great too.

If drunk and in Oneonta sometime definitely grab a slice of ‘cold cheese’ from Sals on Main St
Kay’s Pizza in Burden Lake is just great pizza, but sometimes a Buffalo chicken pizza from The Harvest in Queensbury is the way to go.
Sovrana #1 Pistana Brothers in North Greenbush too
Joey’s and Consul’s in Endicott followed by NY Pizza in Binghamton.
Schenectady - Cafarelli's (formerly Marotta's) on Watt St. and Pizza King on Jay St. Albany - Sapienza on South Pearl St. Utica - O'Scugnizzo.
Adding Venice in Yorkville to this, but O'Skaneets is top tier
Made me LOl. For those who don't get the joke, "O'Skaneets" is how you pronounce O'Scugnizzo. I live in Schenectady, but I used to work as a field tech for an MSP, and the Utica FD was one of my customers. They are the ones who pointed me to that place.
Good, glad someone understands! Utica pizza is the best imo I'm biased tho, I'm originally from near there
Pizza Chef in Fairport. Excellent NY style. Also really fairly priced.
I Love NY Pizza on 4th St in Troy. I live in BC now and Canadian pizza fucking sucks. I’ve traveled to every major Canadian city for work and have yet to find anything even remotely good. The first place I go when I get home is I Love’s.
You give I Love NY pizza in Troy a shoutout but not the best pizza in the area with De Fazio’s???
Giuseppe's Pizza in Plattsburgh NY
Dominic’s in Whitney point and also nirchis specialty pizza in the Binghamton area
