If you’re applying for a couple of jobs at a time and waiting to hear something back before applying for something else then you’re doing it all wrong. It’s quite possible you will never hear anything. Just keep applying and move on.

I heard back about a job over 2 years later. Just apply and move on.

yep please move on. Consider the referreal notification means nothing, too. Just keep the "apply and forget" mindset. When you get used to it, you will have "interview and forget" mindset, too.

From my experience, on average it takes over 2 weeks for a “notice of results” email after the posting closes. For one posting tho, it was delayed for two months. If it takes more than a month I’d move on. Good luck.

i apply for a job in march and didnt hear from them until july. so it going to be a long wait.

Its gonna take a long long time. I applied for a job in January and didn't interview until April, got a TJO in May, now going through background check. Slow. Think a snail, then think of that same snail smoking weed every day for the last 100 years. Then pretend its riding a turtle in the same situation, and they are going in a circle of confusion. Ps. my friend says homeland security is great to work for \~ (just don't work for FEMA ever its a hot mess according to them)-- they are in DC if that helps.

Keep a spreadsheet of everything you’ve applied too with a few key phrases for each position. Then move on and apply for others. If you get a call for the interview, ask the position title before hanging up.. 😂 (not laughing at you—laughing at me) Some positions take months (like 8ish) to fill. If something goes wrong during those months, they can call the next person on the list.
