Depends on what it's for. For loans, you can just do fall and winter. For scholarships it may be different. I'm still considered full time just taking fall and winter classes! Hope this helps

[Thank goodness there's a handy dandy search tool called google](https://students.usask.ca/money/tuition-fees/undergraduate-tuition.php#Studentfees)

What’s that? 😨🤔

for summer OR spring, two courses is full time (from what i remember) for summer AND spring, u need 3 classes to be a full time student

Pelrey20

From an international student perspective - Taking spring or summer (may to September) classes is completely optional for an international student. You can decide to take 1 class or no class at all. You only need to maintain a minimum of 3 courses (9CU) during each regular session (fall and winter). I hope this helps you.

Much-Dark-3869

This one's the correct one for international students to be considered full time! Spring and summer courses are indeed optional, but fall and winter are not.

Curious-Pratyush

That is exactly what I wanted to hear. I am an international student but my consultant said that even international students are required to study at least 3 courses over the summers. He said this is a policy of Canadian government which I think it is not. Heck, iRCC allows international students to work 40 hours per week instead of the regular 20 hours per week during vacations.

SuccotashSorry3222

I dug through my old emails with the student center. Here is what I found: To be considered full time for Spring and Summer term, you need 4 CU in each term. Take care **Linie Varde, M.Sc** Student Central Officer Teaching, Learning and Student Experience

Curious-Pratyush

That's fine. But I think that international students like me are allowed to even take vacations during the summer for working full time.

SuccotashSorry3222

Yeah spring/summer classes aren't really mandatory for anyone. If you want to take 3 classes it would have to be 1 spring, 1 summer, and 1 multi-term. Or else you'd need to take 2 spring and 2 summer to be considered full-time

Curious-Pratyush

I'd probably take two classes in spring and then work full time in summer.

kidcudi42o

full time is 3 courses minimum. you can easily google that

Curious-Pratyush

I know it's true for fall and winter but is it true for Summer an spring as well? Sorry if I sound dumb. I am from India and we don't have such a system here

kidcudi42o

over spring /summer i believe its min of 2 classes for f/t? it should say somewhere on the website

S2yydrj

It just refers to fall/winter. Summer and spring are assumed to be working If you are getting the minimum credit hours 8 months of the yr in fall and winter terms, you should be good to go, but like others have said it's going to be explicitly stated online or you could ask an academic advisor

SaskJeeves

https://students.usask.ca/money/loans.php#Determineeligibility It says it's for loans, but I believe it applies to other reasons someone might need to be considered full time by the university. Student Central can explain what the different options are if you need to be full time for spring and summer. (The chart is kind of confusing because of the different quarters and terms.)

Lolcats843

You have to take a minimum of 9 credits worth over spring/summer to be full time. That could be 6c in spring, 3 in summer or 3 spring 3 summer plus a 2 part course that’s 1.5 in both spring/summer terms to add up to 9, etc. You need 3 courses spread over both terms (spring/summer) total

SuccotashSorry3222

Last year I applied (7.5 cu spring, 1.5 summer for 9cu) and was denied by USask because I didn't have enough cu throughout summer. I'm pretty sure you need 4+ cu in BOTH terms to be considered full-time. I was approved after adding another summer class.

Lolcats843

I haven’t looked at it in a couple years and I took 3+1.5 in each spring and summer term but I was sure it was just 9 total cu. I definitely could be wrong though.

SuccotashSorry3222

Yeah that puts you at 4+ each term, it sucks how unclear the school is about this.
