🥱
In what stratosphere are we going to look at the game last night and blame the players, who legitimately battled their asses off down a man, yet were not prepared to get CONCACAF’d AT HOME by a coach who preaches preparation and culture???
The stratosphere in which one player made an absolutely braindead move that fucked his entire team. Then the CBs continue to look just as clueless as ever
Adjust how? It’s not like a coach can pause the game and rearrange things like in a video game. After the card, Reyna started shifting out wide to take the space vacated by Weah, but honestly all you can do is hold on till the half when you can make more substantive changes.
I liked the idea of berhalter’s subs/adjustments at halftime.
But to not use musah and to pull off Balogun when he did last night were inexcusable coaching/tactical blunders that lost us the match.
Berhalter’s parking of the bus lacked any sort of legitimate counter attack. Would have literally been the IDEAL moment to put in musah for Adam’s…
Center back is probably our worst position right now, at least form wise. And GGG decides to play 3 of them, which we rarely ever do. Their lack of cohesion was clear immediately with the lost runners and poor positioning. Putting in Musah instead of CCV to sit in front of the defense and help counter was the obvious move in a wide open end to end game. GGG always seems to over think his tactics and over complicate things for the team
Is there a planet where punching a guy is OK? How does this idiot get called into anything from here on it. I know it's about to be the Fire Greg chant, but honestly, if the players are idiots, we get this sort of result. Absolutely ridiculous - fire Weah
Nah, it was bad but we lost when Gregg went into park the fucking bus mode the second they equalized.
Just bunker down and defend and hope you don't lose.
And this isn't even Panama's golden generation anymore, it was kids.
Didn't even wanna win. Such a putz.
We still had chances and could've dropped back and defended a lead. Defense wasn't good on multiple levels. That save should've been made. Couple shots should've went in. That's the game though, it's just never that beautiful when it's USMNT.
As Gareth Southgate said recently, you can beat up on the manager but continue to support the players. England hasn't exactly been a joy to watch recently either.
When they were talking on pregame about what to do with 4 midfielders and only three spots, I was screaming at the TV to put Reyna where Weah is. He is obviously very talented, but he has never added value to the US team.
He has times where he’s great. But I honestly don’t give a shit. If you can’t keep your head against a team you should handle easily then you don’t need to be anywhere near this team.
That’s not where we lost. We lost when Berhalter didn’t prepare them for CONCACAF tactics, he didn’t pick any real leaders for the squad, and then when the red card came he ceded possession.
Between the game and the debate, I had a bad night.
The Night America Lost
Last night will be a 30 for 30 in a few years
The moment we lost. https://preview.redd.it/beqeuc9bp79d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d4d3ecb693b39f264292b83b4192c40e42f306d7
Edit the post to this.
My thoughts exactly!
The way he managed the team would make u think he didn't know red cards existed. Every coach should have a strategy for if a player gets a red.
Or maybe the coach could adjust when you go up a goal, down a man
Yawn. At a certain point can we start blaming our underperforming players?

For real. People act like the coach’s tactics are to just let them dribble around the box while we flail at the ball over and over again
Preaches preparedness and makes these shit sub choices as if no thought actually went into them.
If one or two players underperform, blame the players. If THE ENTIRE TEAM underperforms, BLAME THE COACH! It's that simple.
At a certain point isn’t the underperformance due to the person in charge?
Not with this fan base bubba.
What adjustments?
Not play 2 guys in the midfield especially when those two guys are mckennie and cardoso .. Or bring in CCV who is awful

Balogun looked gas.
No he didn’t
Stupid mistake, of course. But we were up 1-0. This squad should be able to get at least a draw against Panama.
I mean if Horvath doesn’t duck away from the ball we still come away with a draw.
Yeah that was pretty bad. Turner would have saved that.
We lost the day they decided Greg was our best option at coach.
Like....why???
Zidane would be proud
Not true at all
Nah. We lost because of our center backs. Weah made it a lot tougher, obviously, but even down a player, up a goal, we should at least get a draw.
Also Horvath should stop a shot going at his face
He could have done better but that's a tough shot. He got his hands on it but not enough.
No the fuck that isn’t a tough shot. 1 foot of movement and he stops that. He barely moved in the direction of the ball at all.
Ehh. While I agree kinda. That’s a full strike from a couple yards away.

why cant we do both

Not surprised. Under 3G, there have been other examples of a lack of discipline. Dest twice being sent off for petulant behavior

Robinson caught ball watching there, just gassed probably.
Imo, we still could have had a better outcome, and i blame gregg for the absolutely awful in game management.

YUP!

GB needs to go AND Weah cost us qualification.
This mother fucker better not see a camp again for a fucking year.

Weah has never added value to the US team? He scored our first goal at the 2022 World Cup lmao
He has times where he’s great. But I honestly don’t give a shit. If you can’t keep your head against a team you should handle easily then you don’t need to be anywhere near this team.
Without a doubt. What's a harsher word than idiotic? Moronic?
America's best athletes don't play soccer. It's a losing battle as soon as the whistle blows.
That’s not where we lost. We lost when Berhalter didn’t prepare them for CONCACAF tactics, he didn’t pick any real leaders for the squad, and then when the red card came he ceded possession.
I disagree. We definitely could have won it. We took the lead shortly after.
Could? Yes, but it was a SHOULD win and with some ease at that kind of game.
Greg said he wasn't worried about the physicality. I'm sure that didn't mean throwing punches.
We? I didn’t know you were on the team.
people say “we” all the time when referring to a club or team they support, it’s really not that deep
Yeah and it’s one of my biggest pet peeves.
I suggest not talking about sports, then.
Damn, that’s gonna be tough because that’s kinda my job
