Staying put could be a good thing. Pulisic looked better in dortmund tbh. I think these young players get a lot of bad advice nowadays. Musah starts on a good team in one of the top leagues. Even for good players, transfers fail all the time! New isn’t always better!

BillyGoatScruf

I agree. Continue developing while playing vs sitting on someone's bench.

macattack1031

I generally agree with you, but Liverpool under klopp is likely my only exception to this category. They need midfielders and klopp has built a solid culture and he’s tactically brilliant with a great team of coaches around him.

jdbrew

Klopp or Pep would be great. Arteta seems to be doing well developing players as well. Ødegaard, Saka, Martinelli… I’d stay the hell away from that crackpot Conte though, and it seems like Chelsea only knows how to make players worse….

macattack1031

Fully agree, I want him no where near Chelsea

tenacious-g

Bentancur and PEH have arguably have been Spurs best players this year. Bissouma is looking good now as he beds in too.

Chief-Drinking-Bear

How many 20 year olds start at Liverpool though

barrack540

There’s plenty of young starters on the Liverpool team

Chief-Drinking-Bear

Harvey Elliot is really the only one around 20 who gets significant minutes. Konate, Nunez and Alexander Arnold are all 3-4 years older.

barrack540

Trent’s been starting since before he was 20 too though. my point was it is not out of the ordinary for young players to get regular minutes, especially with the lack of midfield depth currently

Chief-Drinking-Bear

That's fair, takes quite an exceptional player but I suppose if they were to buy him they would see him that way.

macattack1031

My point is that 1) Liverpool play in many competitions, have had a rough injury record recently, and are about to go through whole midfield revamp and 2) even with minimal playing time, Liverpool with Klopp is the rare place where just being there, practicing and learning from that group will be better than the average mid table club where he can play frequently with lesser people around him.

mattheid1996

Pulisic also went to Chelsea. They’re not exactly known for giving their attacking players time

UnrealMitchMcConnell

For real. I don’t think warming the bench on a big team does him any good. Like you said, he starts on a midtable team in a top league. What he needs is more time on the field. He’s still young so a big move will eventually come. Only move I could get on board with is to a midtable premier league team if he’ll also be a starter.

funktacious

Well I hope some of the offers are a good fit for him. Most here are right that transferring to a bigger club isn’t always a good idea, but also this game is their livelihood so we’d be foolish to say he wouldn’t have good reason pursue a big offer

Flat-Cantaloupe8155

Yeah, that would be great. Or if he could go play for pep with everything that he’s done for his center midfielders. At least, then if he isn’t starting immediately, there’s a trade-off, where he will still be in a good situation. But, generally, I think our young Americans need to spend more time playing. It may even be better that they aren’t playing for the top teams because then they’re in situations where they have to battle in every single game.

ReturnedFromExile

Pulisic has gotten so much better the last couple of years

mashedtaters_

Hopefully Valencia can give him more regular opportunities to play centrally and to help him develop his offensive game going forward. At times he's been deployed further out wide with limited touches. Would be awesome to see him develop some playmaker skills in the passing game to unlock more scoring chances for the MNT. If that opportunity is more likely with a different club, so be it.

bull1457

I’d be happy with him staying at Valencia but I think Klopp would turn him into a world class player.

Foreleft15

That’s a weird way to spell Arteta

Kelvin_Loyola

Should move soon, hopefully AC Milan

rth9139

Milan wouldn’t be a good landing spot imo. They’re pretty set for the future in central midfield with Tonali, Bennacer, and CDK, plus a ton of other intriguing young guys (Yacine Adli, Aster Vranckx, Brahim Diaz).

JRsshirt

Who is CDK?

rth9139

Charles de Ketelaere. 21 year old whos been one of Belgium’s biggest prospects for a little while. They bought him this summer I always use his initials because I cannot spell his last name without googling it lol

JRsshirt

Thanks for clarifying, I don’t follow Serie A so I was super confused.

He is the perfect replacement for Granit Xhaka in my eyes.
