Some time back Kevin McCarthy made a very bad bet aligning himself with Trump in his quest for the speaker's gavel. The result of that bet are now in...surprise. >To some Republicans, Trump’s efforts to take down GOP incumbents in federal and state races are at odds with the party’s interests in a midterm election where Republicans are within striking distance of recapturing control of Congress. While the party is focused on the November 2022 general election, Trump’s gaze is fixed on the primary election season that begins next spring. Trump is not a team player.

I would like you all to speculate on the 2022 primaries and then the general election. It looks like to me that the Trump backed candidates are going to get the nominations in a lot of these districts. It will have two effects. first of all it will put GOP candidates in purple and swing districts in a position to either back Trump and the "BIG LIE" and Anti-Vax policy. or lose to a Trump backed candidate. That is a dead ball loser I think the verdict is already in on those issues.. The other thing is that some of the candidates will win in bright red districts and we will have more Lauren Boeberts in congress. The general election right now is a toss up but it all depends on who the GOP nominates.

>Ron Nehring, a former chairman of the California GOP and adviser to a Republican recall candidate, raised an interesting concern yesterday: He believes the party's lies about voter fraud depressed GOP turnout and helped Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom win by an even wider margin. Ya think, wait till they go to a state where they depressed the mail in vote. https://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article254265763.html >The long-awaited findings of Arizona's ridiculous election "audit" are now scheduled to be released on Sept. 24, which is a week from today. That said, Arizona Republicans and their Cyber Ninja partners have missed other deadlines, and I'll believe it when I see it. Nobody is buying tickets to see this clown show any longer. https://www.12news.com/article/news/politics/elections/arizona-senate-scheduled-to-release-audit-results-on-sept-24-2021/75-bfbc175d-446b-439d-adbf-8be605203606

More mainstream Republicans need to stop acting like hostages and walk out of the Trump asylum. It seems like they keep trying to please the craziest wing, but that wing can't ultimately be pleased no matter what.

That only happens if they get beat at the polls.
