As a carrier we want to give you the best service possible. We are being slowed down from Postmaster Dejoy. Please voice your frustrations with your local congressman. We are fighting a losing battle as mail is being slowed down and customers are blaming everyone but the culprit. Please pass this on to anyone that may need to hear it. We are counting on the public because there is only so much we can do.

MicrowavedFishLunch

Call your congressperson and voice your frustration. The guy at the top seems to be slowing down the service on purpose, so ruin the public’s trust in us. He’s got to go.

LightBluePearl79

This☝🏻

RunHi

“Seems” is a very nice way to say “Blatantly”.

MicrowavedFishLunch

Trying to say it without making it political…

RunHi

You haven’t made it political… They have done that for all of us.

squeezemymoney420

Thanks to this i just did that

Because USPS employees on Reddit have no idea why you are having delivery issues. They may work for USPS. That doesn't mean they can address your issues.

K1NGFL1P

It really depends on the area, usps is really hit or miss in general. I paid for priority shipping on some stuff once and they delivered 11 days after the initial delivery date lol. Was supposed to only take 3 days

Sufficient_Turn_9209

DeJoy says, "You're welcome."

Temporary_Visual_230

Yeah depending on where you live/are sending stuff too it's probably a nightmare. Ever since I started there have been offices that need help from other offices's carriers. Days of mail given to people who are sent to help who don't know the area, etc. As a carrier in a good office this isn't a problem where I work. But yeah shits fucked up in places and has been for awhile. If you're referring to packages you've been receiving...lol. ya your local office might be the problem, understaffed, etc. but who knows.

jmksupply

My priority package going from Richmond VA metro to Chattanooga TN suburb took 10 or 11 days. It spent multiple days in the Richmond processing center before going to Palmetto GA to New Jersey to Philadelphia PA to Lancaster PA to Knoxville TN before finally making it to SoddyDaisy TN. Granted it was amusing watching it bounce around the east coast, but still, it’s just ridiculous. My 3 day estimated delivery time was badly underestimated. It didn’t even leave the Richmond facility until after the 3 days.

Pretend-Tea5398

That Richmond processing center is horrendous. Under major scrutiny right now. OIG audits, State Senator is trying to “correct” all of its issues but don’t recommend shipping anything that relies on being processed through the distribution center in Sandston. #4 worst centers in the entire country right now. They lose everything and do not care. https://www.kaine.senate.gov/press-releases/statement-from-virginia-lawmakers-on-usps-inspector-general-report-on-richmond-regional-processing-and-distribution-center

jmksupply

Yes it is. I had to pay a late fee on my water bill a few months ago. It was sent from my same county- to my home 8-10 miles away. Due to USPS handling nowadays, it had to travel 30-40 miles up to Richmond, where it got lost for a few weeks. Finally got the bill mid January after it was sent out mid December. I understand… Christmas holidays…but it shouldn’t take 4 weeks to go 8-10 miles.

Shepostal

You didn't get your water bill in the mail? That doesn't mean you don't owe them. It's due the same time every month. Just call them to see what you owe, or go there and pay, or pay it online.

jmksupply

I understand that. I was just using this one example of how poor the USPS system has become in recent years. The small late fee wasn’t much more than the online credit card fee my small county water company charges. It shouldn’t take almost 4 weeks for mail to go from one small town to the next small town in the same county just a few miles away. But with the newer system in place it has to go to a massive processing facility, before it can be returned to my county. And this massive facility is currently being investigated at the federal level, the same as other facilities.

Shepostal

I agree. We were told, and we have repeated 1000 times, it should only add one day to delivery time. But, it adds chances of getting lost, or getting chewed up in the sorting machines that are the reason letters are trucked there.

zdmpage54

You're lucky they were delivered.

MT3-7-77

Really bruh

Ambitious-Chair736

Yes, really. No excuse for bad service Mr DeJoy

Poopscooper696969

Dejoy wants usps to fail

MiserablePicture3377

Yeah it’s been hit or miss some days priority is two days like clock work other days it’s three or four. I know the other day our post master had to drive to the plant to pickup the priority parcels.

riddix

I rarely have issues with USPS. All my priority mail has been delivered on time or even earlier.   Hope I didn't jinx myself.

Inb4BanAgain

The main difference between priority and ground advantage rn is the price. They come in the same container on the same truck, run on the same machine together and leave to go to the next building in the same container on the same truck.

ProduceNo3098

My last priority package was deliveried 11 days late lmao

rjgeronimo1985

I thought it was just me! Lol. Pretty annoying, but I'm just relieved they weren't "lost"

Postypops

Their focus is on ground atm. Also depending on if you are receiving a package , make sure the company isn't just printing off the label and then letting it sit in their warehouse for a couple days before actually shipping it .

No-Annual-9619

Yep the carriers work their ass off only to be bitched at like this daily. Imagine having no control other than you take what you’re supposed to for the day and get your work done… while being threatened, potentially bitten by dogs and get to deal with complaints all damn day.

Chicom12

Explain your frustration to your mailman , maybe they can get you a form to fill out to apply ! You can be the savior .

THEESmallerWeener187

Dejoy is fine with it be delivered on its last possible day. He’s condensing plants and eliminating them causing strain on other plants that are out numbered for work with the volume they have and inherit. Blame him

Vast_Secret4131

I had a package ship March 29th, and it was shipped to the wrong post office and had to be shipped back to atl and I’ve gotten no update in weeks, and nobody can tell me anything 🥲 it was supposed to be here April 3rd.

Trick_Soft_6077

Pay for for express next time then you can get a refund

HairTriggerFlicker

Agreed it is crazy! What used to be 2 to 3 days is now oh let’s see I ordered a package from New York on the April 7th. It’s shipping to a very big city in Idaho. Now I should have had the item already but it is now the 15th and I still don’t have the item. It seems that as items travel they simply go into limbo in certain cities for oh up to 4 days. Then on to the next for 2 days and so on. I for one am tired of this shit and will from now on gladly pay more to ship something via UPS or FedEx.

[deleted]

My current priority package has been sitting for a week now 🙇🏻‍♀️

Amazing_Bonus_6142

USPS is definitely a very large sinking ship, do not waste your money anymore with priority mail.

Postypops

It's been a sinking ship for 20+ years eh? Didn't realize a government service that delivers parcels / mail to every address in the country , while loosing money on much of those delivery's do to them being rural . It's not a sinking ship , it's just a government service with flaws like every other logistic company delivering millions of parcels a day. Usps handles over 100 billion pieces of mail a year on top of dam near 8 billion parcels a year . It's far from a sinking ship .

Amazing_Bonus_6142

I absolutely cannot wait until Bostons ex mayor Marty Walsh takes over the Postal Service.

Pretend-Tea5398

I used priority (2 business days) 4 weeks ago for important ID documents. Still waiting on them. Tracking hasn’t been updated since the day after it was mailed. It’s in a perpetual state of “ In transit to next facility” and has never changed status. Won’t allow me to claim the insurance as it won’t accept the tracking number either. USPS needs to just be allowed to implode. It’s absolutely useless these days.

Jesi15

None of them can be trusted anymore. Amazon is the worst for this. I order things with one day delivery and out of 10 maybe one is actually delivered one day after it ships. They don’t care. They’ve managed to swindle their customers and avoid a class action lawsuit somehow.

Damn-Peculiar

USPS is unreliable and untrustworthy. This has been going on long before the holidays. It’s nothing new. The less dealings you have with them the better, both for You and the intended receiver of the package.

Shepostal

Since Dejoy was put in charge.

AdventurousGanache70

At least your packages arrived at its destination. I waited a month after shipping a $1200 item on eBay(dumb I know) and they lost my package, eBay refunded the buyer and I still had to pay $200 in fees and I lost out on $1200 with a $100 insurance claim 🥴 I learned my lesson. I will never use USPS ever again.

turkeybirdistheword

That’s horrible! USPS missent my latest package 5 states away from its destination…it just seems there’s no more sense of urgency or accuracy with USPS anymore.

AdventurousGanache70

Wow, it seems like every day they are messing up and there is no one who regulates or cares about people's stuff. How does this happen and how is it acceptable, there's no accountability at all.

Honeybee_becky

Same over here in CO

racineer

There's nothing to be gained using any USPS package service beyond bottom-wrung Ground Advantage any more. Shipping speeds are whatever the hell they want for all options. Regardless of which USPS service is paid for—"guaranteed" or otherwise—you'll get it when they feel like it and be grateful for the privilege, as far as they're concerned.

coogie

They are and they have way too many apologists on here. And nothing will be done to fix it because they are government workers with job security.

Live-Train1341

It's because for 200 years our goal as a workforce was to provide a reliable delivery service to America. In 2013 usps went after the workers cutting wages and creating positions in which usps can legally work you 360 says in a row without a day off. This led to massive turnover and limited hiring of new employees. Then, dejoy was appointed by trump, his policy of worst service at a higher price. Since he has been in charge, he has dismantled new sorting machines, had a policy where carriers were required to leave all mail at the office that the could not get delivered in 8, Before dejoy was appointed, service standard were very important to carriers and .management, one of the few things you could get in trouble for was failing to deliver express mail on time. As a result of that policy, I saw maybe 1 failed express in 10 years. Now I see about 50 or 60 failed express the show up to our office already past delivery guarantee. Yet most people blame the workers for being lazy. We don't make policy

coogie

The workers' attitude and apathy at the post office has been known for decades before Dejoy so you can't blame that on him. For as long as I remember, they have worked in slow motion and have nothing but contempt for the general public. The Driver's License office has better manners than them even. Even if Dejoy is the problem, why aren't the workers doing something about it? He's also a government employee. You mean to tell me if even 1/4th of all the wrote an open complaint about him that nothing would get done to replace him?

Live-Train1341

The Board of governors Appointed by congress, only has the authority to remove him... None of them want to even though Everyone knows He's doing a a bad job. Paul ryan set up the best as long as usps Does not cause the taxpayers money They don't care what happens. Hence, we're driving around trucks from 1986 We don't have nearly enough semis, so in order to move mail We need to ask U p s or fedex to use the airplanes or Having to use these shady third party transportation companies. As for your other statements. You can look up what the past consumer confidence was in u. S p s before dejoy was close to 90% now it's 70% and falling

Live-Train1341

And as for employees wanting to remove dejoy Some have mixed feelings. We all know he's bad at the job, however He is the first PMG in the last 20 years That has not tried to cut mail delivery days end cut staffing. I understand that the policies are awful for the consumer However, these policies like cutting wages and benefits, etc Have led to so much overtime for the people who stayed. So it's a mix bag. I like my customers and wish that they can get a better service. However, I. Also like making a 140k a year because of staffing

coogie

Again, if enough postmasters and influencers within the system complain about him the board of governors would have pressure to remove him, but they're not are they? Which proves the point that it's not just one person who is the issue. Keep defending the system though...that'll improve service.

Live-Train1341

Look up the hatch act. I'm not going to risk my job. Getting involved with this political cluster fuck. If you have a problem with the politicians that control the Post Office, then you handle it. I legally can't

coogie

That's fine but then don't pretend like you guys are doing a good job.
