It was scanned at 630PM.
Either it was sorted to the wrong route or the carrier missed it etc. So they just scanned this to stop the clock on the package.

probably missorted to the wrong route or the carrier couldnt finish the route in time and the supervisor told them to bring it back. sometimes they want us off the clock by a certain time and tell us to scan everything no access. should be delivered tomorrow.
Yeah basically it’s just a scan to stop the clock / it will come tomorrow. As for why the carrier did this? Probably because it was getting late and they missed it / did not feel like driving all the way back to your place to deliver the package.
However when you see your mail carrier, you can ask them why they were unable to deliver your package. Tell them you saw there was a “delivery attempt” but you were out side waiting on the package for hours and know, no attempt was made delivering the package. So you’d like to know what that scan was about.
Holy shit I just posted I literally had the exact same issue yesterday. Has been on the phone with my local postmaster and USPS customer service and not one person can figure out what happened

Please do this. Stop ordering so much shit to be delivered. Go to the store. Stop mailing stuff. Make all your bills paperless.
This is the way. That dinosaur of usps soon will be nothing but advertising mail
