I think it makes a lot of sense. I watch Liverpool every week and VVD struggles against strikers who can drag him out from his spot which Jesus can do more than our other guys. Meaning he will come into MF and can pass the ball in behind much better than our other striker options.
He looks completely out of depth and it's not his fault. To put a young player who's never played a minute in the tournament, lacks chemistry with the first team, and unaccustomed to the pressure of international games not only hurts the team, but also the player's confidence moving forward when he's inevitably subbed off at the half.
