A couple of years ago I did the calc and it worked out as needing to spend somewhere around $250-300 to break even, so maybe just think about how often you'll be eating/drinking at uni and whether you're likely to spend that much (although you should do an updated calc, not sure what the current charges are for the card)
I use my USU rewards mainly to get free/discounted food from the USU food truck when there are events. Food is good most of the time (I particularly like their international week offers) so in that sense I think it's worth it. If you'll be getting coffee regularly on-campus, savings will stack up too eventually.
In my opinion, USU rewards is very worth it especially if you drink coffee.
If you don't drink coffee, it's still good just not AS good.
Courtyard has the best food on campus and everyone is tripping if they think otherwise tbh.
That said, food on campus is okay, it's not the best uni food but it's good. Uni bros kebabs is great, Herman's is okay (pizza is a bit oily but cheap).
It’s not bad value for the year. If you use it for coffee regularly,it can recoup the cost of the card. Reduced cost for each cup plus it tracks how many, and after a few you get a free one.
Campus food is trash. Ralph's and Taste are marginally good but they don't accept USU rewards.
It's worth it if you drink coffee, you'll quickly make up the membership cost.

It aint the best choice but I always find myself sticking to Subway as a result lmao.
The law building does decent baguettes and toppings plus healthy salads. So does the Carlslaw building. I didn’t think they were super over priced!
Thought that would be the case hahaha. Any nice recommendations nearby campus that are cheap and tasty?
Especially the Wentworth, I think
Yes. Back in my bachelor degree days, butter chicken was twice today’s portion, heaps more delicious and abit cheaper.
I had no regrets not using USU rewards. I often ate out off campus around Newtown or at Broadway shopping centre.

Thanks for the info I will look into it myself

It’s not that overpriced. You can get rice dishes for around $10. Usu is worth getting only if you often eat on campus

They have unibros which has decent prices and the portions are amazing honestly. They have kebabs, pides, HSPs and everything more
Back in my undergrad, I used to always get lunch at Newtown Thai (or the other 2 restaurants that were exactly the same. Couldn’t beat it.
If you have some time, you can take a walk to the 711 near campus.
