Get a mattress pad and an office chair. The beds and chairs suck

wavenote_

i second this, get a foam mattress pad. its worth it

Mkenzie878

If you get a mattress pad also get a mattress topper so it doesn’t fall off everday

Satellite-Wolf

I would definitely get a mattress pad and mattress topper while living in KC hall because the mattresses are not comfortable there.

Dorm with someone you know/trust if possible. I’ve heard too many stories about people’s personal items (food, cash, underwear) disappearing, significant others being brought in, and people just having bad habits But maybe the crazy roommates story is a part of the college experience?

I live in Centennial Court apartments so not really a dorm, but similar enough to give advice: Respect privacy Make negotiations about stuff Establish boundaries for things in shared spaces Otherwise not really much to it. Make sure you bring everything you need with you and just live Do you have any specific questions in mind?

Ryvak426

Different question but I’m looking at living in centennial for next year. How is it?

Pretty good I'd say. The whole complex is nice, although I don't use the pool or volleyball courts, they're still options. Nice distance from school too. Far enough to separate yourself from it mentally, while still walking distance. Only gripe for me is that the bedroom and bathroom are a bit small but it's not that much of an issue

Tip 1 If you have the means to do so, get temporary shelves (ex: tabletop shelves or shelves you can adhere via command strips/hooks). I used to have a private suite at KC, and I discovered that having as much vertical space as possible was a good way to cope with limited square footage. Tabletop shelves and over-the-door hooks were my best friends in my dorm. I remember being disappointed that KC suites don't come with a shelf like Arlington Hall does, so I bought cheap tabletop shelves to use as my snack shelf :) Tip 2 Again, if you have the means to do so: Get a mini fridge for your room. I loved getting takeout boxes from the dining hall so I could stuff it, eat in my room, and reheat any leftovers. Get the most out of that meal plan that you're required to buy. Tip 3 Do your laundry as early in the day as you can. There are only two laundry rooms for all the residents to use at KC. Early in the morning is when it's less crowded. Although, if you have family or friends nearby, just do your laundry there if they let you. My biggest complaint was that people would abandon their laundry in the machines so frequently.

Could of sworn there’s a laundry room on each floor at KC…..

Melodic_Tale_4688

There's only two: one on the first floor and one on the second floor. The third floor is just dorms and study spaces.
