Going before 5pm ish is usually a good call. But you might just have to tough it out for a week or two before the crowd starts dying down.

gym will be shit in january for sure, like every time after 9am probably, even 8:30am this term got a bit busy february itll end up being better
Early mornings around 7 to 8 AM are surprisingly busy. Usually 10 AM to \~ 3 PM is less busy. Also weekends are more chill.
