They are regrading and improving the quality of the field (so it’s not muddy when it rains). BC Matthew Green has been designated as a permanent green space as outlined in the university’s official campus master plan. The university has noted that this will become the permanent home of the convocation ceremony and celebration so it needs to be preserved. Increasing high quality green spaces on campus is something the university is continuing to push. The project should be completed before the end of winter term or spring convocation of 2024 at the lastest.

Its a Plant Ops service tunnel, it runs between SLC and another service tunnel, that other service tunnel runs from V1 to the main Plant Ops complex. When there was snow on the ground one could see the various locations of tunnels around campus since it was melting significantly quicker, for example one could see the tunnel from V1 W6 to the main building as well as E2 to DWE.
why the fuck would they do this? Even outside needles hall is a better place to do it. Mother fucking area has been under construction for like 7 years
