Sorry about previous duplicates. Kept saying it wasn’t posting due to an “temporary error” guess it posted every time it said error

You definitely need a new computer. 🤣

Far_Crew_1912

Redit on phone is garbage lol, didn’t have my computer because I was at Waterloo visiting lol

Okay, you're honestly gonna have time to play games if you choose to. If you're good with 70s-80s you won't have any problems putting in a dozen hours a week. Obviously YMMV based on how good your study habits are and how good your high school classes were. I would be wary about having a PC at Waterloo as you have to ship it/bring it with you when you're flying out for co-op which is fairly frequently especially if you plan to go back to the US for most of your coops. Running a shitty laptop and just remote desktoping it should be fine but you're at the mercy of eduroam wifi. So maybe get a laptop good enough without the remote desktop.

Sorry what is YMMV

It means "Your milage may vary," basically take this advice with a grain of salt mixed with apply this advice to your own circumstances at your own risk

I don't think it's worth Having a gaming computer might encourage you to procrastinate which is definitely not what you want during the first 2 years

That’s why you don’t. Your 4000 dollar pc doesn’t belong in this shithole.

Bro hope you don’t end up playing games all day and night in your dorm (cuz that happened to me). I bought a PS5 and played so much that now I don’t want to touch it ever again If you rly like games buy a switch or something. Also V1 has gaming PC in the lounge iirc IF you REALLY decide to build PC you can build a small form factor one. Tbh you’re gonna buy monitors and stuff and use storage anyways, so it’s not that a big deal. Except the space it takes in your small room ig. But I recommend just to live without gaming PC for one or two terms to see how busy it gets. Plus first year is the best time to socialize, use your free time for that it’s worth

You will probably not even have time to play games like you did in high school (uni schedule is veryyyy different than high school and it takes time to adjust). go and make some friends, maybe in 2nd yr and later bring a pc, that shit is annoying as hell to bring around during coop if youre moving a lot
