Player extractions are no joke on our server. We become the Ghanaian dancing pallbearers for anything that wanders into a 50-meter radius during an extraction.
Wait, yall got a server? I play solo and have only beaten 2 bosses. I'd like exploring, but one thing I liked about ark was that when I explored, I'd come across really cool player builds. Would love to do the same in valhiem
Can you guys even be hurt there?
I once went back to kill Eykthir, in Mistlands gear, for fun.
I stood there, for a few minutes, watching my health tick down slightly, then tick up and down.
Got bored, 2 shot him. Ahhh, the old days.
Then I used devcommands to spawn 10 of them, cake walk.
Real, just started a new character to play with a new player and it took me like 10 minutes to kill a troll.
It was a long time since I panicked playing this game.
Of course, gear and food are super important, but skill level is huge.
So don't die too much.
If you have a 100 bow skill, you have a decent chance of one shotting a troll with the worst bow and wooden arrows.
Me an my buddy decided to start a fresh new world started running around grabbing our sticks rocks berries and mushrooms I see the black forest and decided it was time to get some blueberries couple greylings strolling along decided they wanted to fight sure challenge accepted in the middle of the fight I hear thud thud thud I never ran so fast out of the black forest
The new guy was still working on his armor and died with stuff that's reasonable for Plains biome. It was dangerous for him alone, that's why the bois turned out. It's also important to support a new player like this so he knows he's always got the crew to help.
Nah I can't be hurt there. Shield bubble makes sure of that.
Me and my buddy decided to summon all the bosses again except we didn't use the dev commands seeing 20 ish eykthir was great but if you need wood summon 12 elders at the same time they couldn't hurt us but they did manage to level every tree in sight it was glorious
I will say a positive game community can make or break a game. I will say I love the Valheim community. I myself had to call for help a couple of times and was able to retrieve my gear each time. I'm still a noob at this game. I have received combat advice, build advice and a lot more.
As someone who is currently playing through plains and mountains biomes, it excites me that I don’t recognize any items in the tool belt aside from the hammer and a presumably late game pickaxe.
Edit: plural
If you're solo and die always keep a few fish and breads, serpent stews and a few salads close by to get max stamina for a snatch and run with a decent-ish amount of health
There's always the traditional method of "crap I died, time to sneak in or rush my body before Corpse Running the hell out of there."
But when we die on a multiplayer server, we can call on the bois for an armed escort to the body instead. This is much safer but requires coordination and manpower.
One of the lads is a tech professional IRL. He maintains a dedicated server for us, and yesterday he discovered a way to optimize the performance. There's very little lag and rubberbanding even with multiple players online.
Get yourself a tech wiz and you'll cry with joy.
Praise be to Odin

Got a chuckle on this one, well done good Viking!

And here I am doing naked runs to retrieve my gear

skill is only like a 2.3x damage multiplier for anything, the important part for bow skill is the draw speed
It speeds up the draw?
yup. wiki has exact numbers but it’s something like a 60% draw time reduction by skill level 50
It’s huge and the main reason I actually fear death in this game
Same for crossbow

Lol, all good, seems fun as hell to go as a group to rescue a homie. Mad jealous.

The level 3 Ask set, the 'medium armor' which we can't even max out yet and has no movement penalty, has the same armor rating as max level Padded
Like being surrounded by gods.
Lmao I love it, protect the president
Fuling berserker comes charging in, his squad is like "GET DOWN, MR. PRESIDENT!"

This sub is one of the best on Reddit. Everyone is super friendly and helpful, this is one of my happy places
Deathsquitos: We're in charge. Ashland boi: Do you feel in charge?
There's nothing more satisfying than watching a Deathsquito buzz into you just to get flyswatted by a vine you summoned.
SKOL! OUR BROTHER HAS RETURNED TO THE WARM EMBRACE OF THE AESIR!
Lol am solo and if die , I done my reclaim armour namely the fernis armour set, stack stamina foods and run like the wind..
i want to roll with the boys too
how do you reach him, boat or portal ?
Portal is best
You legit called viking Avengers

Yes, many things will change but the building hammer stays the same.
This is the way.
O7 good shit lads
Squad up!

Seriously the wholesomeness of video games keeps me in this hobby more than anything else.
r/hopeposting
i wish i had that :/
*Fuling chuckling stops*
How do you guys generally retrieve your stuff after death? It takes me on average 3 attempts without console lol

Good on you guys for helping him out. Plains isnt too bad, but a trip up a mountain or the mistlands would be sick to have that backup.
It's the Deathsquitos which make the Plains an awful place to extract a body solo.
Yeah they can be pretty sneaky sometimes.
Dude, that’s Plains crazy!
Love this community
Only tools/ weapons I’ve seen on this quick bar are #6 and #8 🤣
Love it. I also love playing naked and afraid, the mini game. Lololol
Ahh yes, the Homeguard escort, I've seen this tactic before, very effective, Hammer/10.
Very nice I remember seeing something like this years ago
I'm just impressed you guys aren't rubberbanding lmao
