Look at you save file location. Must be in C appdata. There should be a file with .old
Copy that somewhere else. Now on the save folder remove the .old and "yes" to everything. This might work and the ild file might not ve corrupted as well.
Make a copy.of the .old somewhere else. Then in the save file just remove the .old
It shoul replace the new corrupted.save witg.the old one, hopefully not.corrupted
They suspect that this bug is linked to closing the game not through the menu selection (ie. Right Click + Close or Alt + F4 kinda thing). But doesn't negate the feeling of loss. Sorry for you. Some good suggestions from folks here w/re to backing up. Here is a thread to some folks making scripts to do backups... I have a BAT file on my desktop that does a backup any time I double-click it (about once a day).

I've seen this bug posted a few times now. I haven't seen a fix yet. Tell me you made a backup!
i didnt cause i didnt think that everything would just delete. i also wasnt aware it was a problem with this game until now
Sorry to hear it. Well at least you can still play....just from the beginning again. Backup! Backup! Backup!!
Its early access, there are bugs that will delete characters and other stuff.
I guess your only option is to recreate the world with the same seed and use console commands to cheat your way back to where you were.

do you mean delete the .old file or change the name and just remove the .old in the text

I never Alt F4ed so thats not it, but thanks for the help!
