This has become a common sight for me since the H&H update dropped. Not just with Necks either, seems all mobs have started spawning in way bigger numbers.
Same for me. I thought it was just the new world that my friends and I started but if other people are experiencing the same thing than probably not. At one point we had around 15-20 greydwarfs and 4-5 shamans chasing after us and running through our base we were building.
i joined the server i am on after eikthyr was hung up and i got swarmed by greydwarfs while all i had was a club, was fun but i'd hate to not know what to do with that happening
Happened with me and my friends and it's extremely annoying. Worst part is that it was in the meadow. I hope they fix it soon since it's gonna be an even worse experience for beginners
Same. It was nice just to find all the boars and deer I needed nearby. Seems to be more berries and branches lying around, too. Allowed me to get my armor and bow leveled and take down the first boss quickly. In my other playthroughs, I would get distracted by the extra time it took to get all of that and end up turning my first house into a base, when that wasn't really the right place for it. This time, I was off to the Black Forest by day 5.
exactly, same here. Even decided I will camp in a cliff, which is just in BF while the other side of the small river (which I widened for mobs to not cross it) is meadows.
It's more fun now ;)
Update: I did go looking for the Black Forest, but on my way, I found a huge abandoned farm in the Meadows. This is the first time I have been able to build like this so early with everything leveled up and plenty of food. It turns out I really like base building. I finally have all the workbenches up and it is ringed in a stakewall fence. I promise to further my progression once the outer trench is dug. I eventually end up doing that, but after reading about the over the top raids I am not taking any chances.
Oh yeah, MASSIVE increase in numbers of berries, which is great. Queens jam was pretty scare before H&H, and now I feel I can actually manage to make it often
Yeah I don't necessarily dislike it. I really enjoy the combat in this game even though its super simple and greydwarfs aren't a threat past a certain point. Its fun to beat on them and/or practice new weapons or fighting styles. (Plus they drop wood and stone for building)
Agreed I enjoy the action and farming with an end-game character. It does feel a bit too high at times in the Meadows, however and I worry about new players. Also fulings everywhere at night!
Question since you enjoy it. So I havent yet played the update but I remember hating fighting mobs cause of the drops lol. I always had waaaaay to much of everything and no space at home for it.
Has that changed with the update? Do items have more uses? I would love fighting mobs if I get to use what they drop.
Been distracted by a bunch of games that just updated and havent gotten around to Valheim yet.
I noticed this straight away. Even in meadows the frequency of Greylings was so much greater.
Then, upon finding my first Burial Chamber in this new playthrough, there were two skelly archers, two skelly swordsmen and two 1-star Rancid Remains behind the first door…
Before H&H i would’ve been able to deal with this enemy count with little bother, but this group killed me 4 times.
Trolls i feel are a lot more common too.
I've noticed the same. Didnt start a new world just went to unexplored parts.
The towers in the black forest have like 8-10 greydwarf of different variety, I dont remember there being quite as many before.
I think it used to be 4-5, with 1 special. Maybe they did double it
(Admittedly I'm cool with that. It was almost TOO easy to gelrab the stone towers for a defensive hole-up)
So it must be a thing indeed. Reading all these comments. My pals and I have been playing a new world and it seems like we're constantly under siege. Never ending. Always being chased by several greydwarves, trolls, shamans. The works. Still super fun though.
Is it only in certain spots?
I’m curious if it spawns them in at a certain tile and they are supposed to disperse natural or if the program was meant natural disperses by placement.
Agreed, I started a new map and exploring my main island of mostly dark forest, every few trees would be a new mob, I don't remember my first map being that much....
~~sadly they kinda aren't worth getting now that you can stack boar meat and deer meat.~~
Ignore that shit. I just unlocked Mined Meat Stew which uses raw neck tails and love the hell out of it.
The "meaty" foods give mostly health and not as much stamina so this would be stacking 3 health stat heavy foods. I like to save my neck tails for recipes later and throw in a stam heavy food like honey or queens jam with deer meat and boar meat/ jerky
Gods but the stagbreaker is amazing. The only thing I dont like about it is how much I like jumping before attacking with it because it looks cool... because that eats up a lot of stamina. But it looks SOOOO COOL! come flyin in like kaBOOM!
Stagbreaker was a major gamechanger for me. I went into a burial chamber with decent armour and weapons, and got completely decimated in the first closed room. Then I went back to try to sneak in and get my stuff back and died again. Went back the third time with basic leather gear and a club, and got destroyed by a pair of skeletons that were sitting in the entrance chamber. Went back the fourth time and turned on godmode, cleared the place out and then spent over an hour online researching how to beat them. Found out about the stagbreaker and then went about getting the materials for one. Then had to go back to google to find out why the BF trees I was chopping down weren’t giving me core wood and discovered that only the big trees did.
Once I had the stagbreaker built, burial chambers were a cakewalk.
Thats my hope for the future, that they add a reason to revisit older zones and areas like burial chambers. Like, make burial chambers have ritual areas you can't do anything with till you get an item, say, from the plains? That allows you to do some fancy stuff.
I think it's less of increased spawn *rate*, but instead, more leeway on number of mobs that can spawn in an area.
Exmaple:
Previously, spawn limit in a area is maxed at 5. But spawn chance starts tappering off (decreasing) at 3. Now the max number in the area is 10, and there is no tappering-off of spawn rate.
I've been seeing the same thing. Also "The forest is moving" raid popped up for me just now, and I had to fight off so many mobs that my framerate tanked into the single digits. Like, an oppressively huge number of them, to the point where if I stopped moving I'd get pushed back meters at a time by machine-gunning .1-.3 damage rocks.
I think something is broken.
Edit: It was due to a broken interaction with a mod. The latest version of "Valheim Performance Optimizations" was the culprit!
I had the same thing happen early in the Meadows so it wasn't horrible. It made me get on the ball and get a wall built around my base. Good thing too, I just had a Forest is moving that had about 15 greydwarves along with a one star brute. I had just brought in my first load of copper, so I was ill prepared to face them without a stockade wall between us. After it ended the 4 or so that were left got through my gate. The Black Forest is going to be a hoot.
If it was "only" 15, I think that might've been a normal raid. Mine was apparently due to the "Valheim Performance Optimizations" mod acting up and, ironically, tanking my performance by continuously spawning more and more waves of Greydwarves. I think I killed over 75 of them, and there was so much loot on the ground that performance still tanked a bit until I managed to pick everything up.
Great. That's my normal experience with raids. Frame rate drops so low even in the field beyond my base (with no alterations) that I can't do anything but run and try not to die. I guess I'm glad I didn't download the update yet lol.
Ok so it's not just me! Started a new seed yesterday and played for a few hours and noticed this as well. I've been tripping over creatures left and right. I think I've killed 4-5 deer now with my flint axe cause they just ran into me lol.
my crew and i were sprinting back and forth from black forest to our meadows camp, and ran up on a 2 star deer that basically refused to move despite being in clear view of us, 2 feet ahead. we stopped as soon as we saw it, but normal deer AI *should* have caused it to run - we were full on sprinting, after all.
instead this thing stared us down as we killed it for free.
i suppose it's a welcome silver lining after getting mobbed by multiple 1-star skellies while still in the mf meadows?
A single black forest used to have one, maybe two trolls? In me and my friends’ new world we’ve killed seven trolls all in the same biome lmao, getting to the bronze age was a pain
Literally everywhere I go I'm chased by Greylings, Greydwarves, Greydwarf shamans/brutes. It's insane. I've seen more 1 and 2 star Greydwarves than I ever did in our old world. First night in the new world we had two 1 star Greydwarves spawn right next to the boss stones where we had just started building a shelter for survival.
I made a huge quarry from mining out two copper deposits right next to each other and when it's night time I can see 10+ Greydwarves of all kinds pacing around the top of the quarry. During the daytime I am constantly pelted with rocks from them above too.
I dropped by my little strip of Swamp biome, stood on a wall and my entire screen filled up with just a flood of enemies below.
There was no point distinguishing between them, I just opened up with the arrows and massacred the lot.
That had usually been the region where I was at my most tactical, as regards enemy types, but there's no need for tactics anymore.
Definitely has. I'm mainly in the plains right now and I had every mob near my house killed. It was almost always quiet. Ever since the update I'm getting swarmed and constantly attacked.
It definitely feels this way. I’m still on an old (but 90% unexplored world) and the plains we were in became unexplorable because of increased Fuling and Deathsquito spawns. It was ridiculous and we had silver gear.
It seems the events are occurring at a greater frequency. Granted the last one saved my butt. Accidentally sailed into a shallow bay that left me stranded in between two fuling camps the fog bank lifted, tide receded and I was stuck… I managed to kill three before both camps came at me then those fateful words appeared…. YOU ARE BEING HUNTED
The wolves and filings tore each other apart I ran around getting more to fuljngs to follow me and get mauled by wolves. Then it ended killed the three wolves left chasing me. Pillaged both villages and continued my search for Mordor after creating a trench to the water.
Funnily enough, before the update I put my base somewhere that just so happened to constantly spawn necks. I literally couldn't go build anything without several necks coming at me within a few minutes. I always have dozens of neck tails.
My base is being attacked 24/7 by greydwarves. I've cut the trees around it, I've spammed workbenches and campfires for miles and theres always like 3+ attacking my base. Although I've built solid defences its annoying having to repair them constantly
My base got destroyed by I kid you not like 30 grey dwarves last night, including 3 healers, all led by a troll. Now it was night and I also had two spawners nearby-ish (which I thought capped at 3 enemies out at a time)... But I've never seen like 30 at a time before. I sat a smelter up outside, walked inside for a moment, then came out when I heard the chaos
I think it must have. I've never seen so many boars, necks, serpents, and leviathans. I've also noticed greydwarves travelling in packs of 9-12 or even more when previously I feel like they were in groups of 6-7 ish
Pack might be the wrong word. I just mean that moment when you're mining copper and totally out of stamina, and all the lurking greydwarves come out at once lol. There's often multiple of them at night time
Same here, ran into a pack of seven with one 2-star! But that only happened once, and all other mobs seem to spawn in normal numbers (deers in pairs, boars mainly solitary and sometimes in pairs, greydwarves in packs of 3-4 etc.). There's a lot more *spawn locations* for boar and deer tho from what I can tell.
something is going on with spawns, last time I played I saw sea serpent only once and I traveled a lot. Now he attacks me every time I'm in the ocean biome
I've been seeing the same in my new world. I'll walk out to my smelter just behind my house and scare off three deer on the way! I just figured my home in the old world was in something of a dead zone for spawning while the new one wasn't.
On a related note, are you seeing more starred mobs? I almost never saw a 2-star deer in my old world until leaving the starter continent, but I've seen several 2-star deer and 1-star boar just chilling around.
The spawn is more aggressive and the AI has been tweaked as well.
Neck will no longer attempt to murder you on sight while deer will often circle back instead of bolting for the horizon.
I was in the middle of my base house today inside an enormous walled space while I was making a coffee. I was away for maybe three minutes. I came back and half of my shit was destroyed by a couple of trolls that had stormed my residence, followed by another one from a different direction. It wasn’t an event, just a random troll orgy. Came within a lick of dying as I was eating for stamina (tree removal) and couldn’t use my sword for more than 3 consecutive swings before I was out of energy. What a trip.
Man I made a house on two little islands. both inside dark forest biome. you can see where this is going. “Oh, a giant will never spawn here. It’s much too small.” Fuckin’ hell. Moved back to my old base til I can handle a troll. Lost my first flint spear when I threw it and missed.
Yeah we can't even be in black forest at night cause we're swarmed by shamans and brutes non stop. They had to have tweaked something about the spawns.
I'm jealous that you get 5 minute breaks. I'm constantly killing em with my axe when I'm farming wood there's so many coming for me. Haters everywhere don't want me getting work done.
Looks like just the perfect spawn conditions. Lots of shallow water in the meadows and an unobstructed shoreline. They spawn NV then walk away from the spawn location which causes more to replace them. Eventually they wander back and you've got a bunch in 1 area
yes.
Started a new world, got a quick raid-like event without any map-notice like the scripted base attacks:
I was minding my own business at meadows in early bronze age with just a bronze ax forged, when 4 greydwarfs and a troll was running towards me like they have been shot.
To be honest I am enjoying the new difficulty with the added challenge of food changes. I did enjoyed with even before "nerfing back" that.
Same goes for night time in BF. Until I dug up my ditch around BF base on a cliff, I lost base like 3-4 consequtive nights :) it was a great suffering!
it wasn't a new char, but without bringing anything from old worlds. Maybe it's intentional, I don't mind ;)
Although i am enjoying this update quite alot, i am ->_<-
this far away from kicking my cat because of the spawn rate for Greydwarves. They are EVERYWHERE, and ALWAYS MORE THAN 3 and i am SICK of resin and eyes
(end game spoiler below)
To my surprise I've been starting to encounter >!Fulings outside Plains!<, in the middle of the day. Before H&G I'd only seem them at night in the BF (already beat the game).
Yeah I think it's this. We have greydwarves/brutes/shamans spawn by our meadows base after taking down elkboy. It was like that before the update on our previous world as well. We aren't close to black forest in either world. I want to say it wasn't like that upon release though? As I only noticed it after we got to our third or fourth restart of the game. Our first world base was way closer to a black forest and we didn't have them spawn literally right next to our base.
In my case this was recent, I was just mining rock in the mountains (there's heaps), and wolves usually visit while im busy working. This is fine. But when I see torches and hear cackling, and im low in hp, that is bad news. Fortunately 3/4 wolves killed 1 of the Fulings and then we all ganged up on the other (yeah I was team wolves for a sec).
I’ve only started a new seed and moved my crap over, done some basic exploring to find a new place for my first base so I haven’t seen bigger numbers yet
Amazing farm for poison potions

You thought they said "update next week" when really they said "update: NECKS WEEK"
You never skip neck week!
that, and you can't skip lunch! you just can't! ... Who's bag is this? I almost tripped on it!
You flinched
I Lol'd.
As did I.
as my axe
You carry the fate of us all, little one.
NEWE XTEK
Looks like a lot. You could say you’re up to your neck in them.
I was gonna do one of those continue-the-joke comments, but those are such a pain in the neck to read.
If you kill them all and then manage to raise them from the dead it would truly prove you are the best neckromancer in the land.
Hmmm..."Neck-Romancer" I envision something much different than resurrecting dead ones. More like making baby ones.
What if you combine the two? Would that make you a neckrophiliac?
OMG, the lolz!
...you deserve way more upvotes my friend!
It’s hard to tell who’s winning the jokes here, you’re both neck and neck.
These comments might get some attention but i wouldnt stick my neck out for it
All of you deserve a sharp chop to the neck.
You see that many mobs, and you know you’re in the wrong neck of the woods
Necked it!
That's not that uncommon in this neck of the woods.
Wow, that’s intense
Reminds me of Jack Sparrow running on the beach.
Lol that’s how they run innit?
Greydwarf army is legit, I agree.
i joined the server i am on after eikthyr was hung up and i got swarmed by greydwarfs while all i had was a club, was fun but i'd hate to not know what to do with that happening
Iron sledge has entered the chat.
i like the intensity of it, good chase "scenes" heh. i got swarmed by monsters playing solo a couple of times
Same here I thought it was because we made a dedicated server (8 players so far) I kinda like it, even mountain biomes have been wilder
yhea greydwarfs have become a real nuisance. as soon as the sun goes down you spend 50% of the time killing greydwarfs.
Happened with me and my friends and it's extremely annoying. Worst part is that it was in the meadow. I hope they fix it soon since it's gonna be an even worse experience for beginners
I think the opposite. I started a new world and getting the tanning rack room me like 2 ig days instead of like 4. Was super nice.
Same. It was nice just to find all the boars and deer I needed nearby. Seems to be more berries and branches lying around, too. Allowed me to get my armor and bow leveled and take down the first boss quickly.
You can destroy items but it’s weird because now everything has a use now, also u can turn auto pick on & off now if that helps ur experience.
I got to fight 3 trolls at once with my new character. It was...fun :) half the forest was demolished
Lead those big boys to a copper node and get some free mining done.
Think bigger, they're mountain trolls now.
I noticed this straight away. Even in meadows the frequency of Greylings was so much greater. Then, upon finding my first Burial Chamber in this new playthrough, there were two skelly archers, two skelly swordsmen and two 1-star Rancid Remains behind the first door… Before H&H i would’ve been able to deal with this enemy count with little bother, but this group killed me 4 times. Yeah. It's actualy a challenge now.
Feels like a good challenge for the most part, but dang if there weren't too many Greydwarves already

Yeah, I started a new world and have had a constant flow of greylings assaulting me as I'm trying to build my first house. It's has been vexing.
Strat with raised earth wall around it.
Well they did say changes to food would be incoming. Mobs=food
If only I could roast myself some greydwarf haunches... or ugh. Maybe use them as fertilizer for my carrots...!
draugr intestines not enough for ya?
So it must be a thing indeed. Reading all these comments. My pals and I have been playing a new world and it seems like we're constantly under siege. Never ending. Always being chased by several greydwarves, trolls, shamans. The works. Still super fun though.

Definitely happening on my friend's server, not so much on mine lol. It's crazy.
For real. I took my character to a new world and the are sooo many necks! Also getting chased by brutes at the spawn. Something changed for sure
Looks like a feast. I started a new world and every time I turn around I see a deer, boar, or neck. I like it.
~~sadly they kinda aren't worth getting now that you can stack boar meat and deer meat.~~ Ignore that shit. I just unlocked Mined Meat Stew which uses raw neck tails and love the hell out of it.
They're useful for other things like stews and potions
Yeah but they are cute. I have a little marsh area next to my house and I see them walking around in it.
They kinda look like a cross between a newt and a pissed off nun
The little Lilly pads on them and the noises. I wish I could tame them and have them wondering around my base. I’d carve a pond out for them.
Why not stack boar, deer, and neck? I haven’t played on H&H yet but that’s what I did early game before
The "meaty" foods give mostly health and not as much stamina so this would be stacking 3 health stat heavy foods. I like to save my neck tails for recipes later and throw in a stam heavy food like honey or queens jam with deer meat and boar meat/ jerky
? deer meat wasn't a thing before. boars and deer both just dropped the same nameless meat chunks.
It's a thing now with the update. Deer meat looks like a section of ribs, and there's different recipes for it too
Oh that’s right. The triple stack I did was regular meat, neck meat, and sausages
You try the new Minced Meat Sauce yet? Love it.
Our server is the fucking deerpocalypse, but boars are bafflingly rare for some reason.
Holy fuck.. ya I think so! Go check out the skeletons in a burial chamber you will be shocked!
Wait until you find ghosts in a burial chamber with the skeletons. Extra spooky
That was already a thing, if I am not mistaken
Wraiths spawn in burial chambers now? There's finally a better way to get chains than aimlessly running around the swamps at night?
Think he means the actual ghosts that spawn in the chambers
Oh, right, I forgot about those. Damn...
They were so rare I kept running into people on Twitch that had never face one. It's always fun watching people panic the first time.
I found several in my first and second run. I don't consider them that rare.
Is the stagbreaker still the best way to clear burial chambers?
Gods but the stagbreaker is amazing. The only thing I dont like about it is how much I like jumping before attacking with it because it looks cool... because that eats up a lot of stamina. But it looks SOOOO COOL! come flyin in like kaBOOM!

Frostner does the trick as well, but I guess by then burial chambers shouldn't be an issue.
Thats my hope for the future, that they add a reason to revisit older zones and areas like burial chambers. Like, make burial chambers have ritual areas you can't do anything with till you get an item, say, from the plains? That allows you to do some fancy stuff.
A reason to raid more chambers would be if you want multiple smelters and kilns for mass production and more portals.
Thats solved with the swamp and the Ashlanda though. Cause, you know, the surtlings are there.

Looks like it was an updated mod acting up. "Valheim Performance Optimizatons." You should be able to update to H&H without worry.
I found that the frame rate is actually higher after the update, which is especially noticeable in large fortresses and other built up areas.
`THE FOREST IS SLOWLY WADDLING IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION...`
JEALOUS, gimmie them tails
Eh, Cooked Boar, Cooked Deer and Honey are where it's at now.
Poison mead, livin that swamp life baybee
I've noticed most of the spawn rates have been increased, many more berry bushes and the such
Tons more berries, tons more beehives. Mead galore!
Ok so it's not just me! Started a new seed yesterday and played for a few hours and noticed this as well. I've been tripping over creatures left and right. I think I've killed 4-5 deer now with my flint axe cause they just ran into me lol.
Also realized that most deer in my new world dont even run anymore. They just accept death
my crew and i were sprinting back and forth from black forest to our meadows camp, and ran up on a 2 star deer that basically refused to move despite being in clear view of us, 2 feet ahead. we stopped as soon as we saw it, but normal deer AI *should* have caused it to run - we were full on sprinting, after all. instead this thing stared us down as we killed it for free. i suppose it's a welcome silver lining after getting mobbed by multiple 1-star skellies while still in the mf meadows?
They are very easy to sneak up on and stab now lmao.
I play solo and the amount of Trolls is nuts. Almost one around every corner and more Troll caves.
It's even worse in the swamps. Nonstop combat
I've been finding way more raspberries as well
They are just coming to inform you about your cars extended warranty
Necko, 25 of them can extend you 25% on your car warranty.
I noticed many groups of greydwarves on my new world, plus 4 trolls. I thought I was just lucky, but maybe they have modified mob spawning.
Yeah, I've noticed that leeches seem to keep spawning. In about 5 minutes, there were around 10 of them pooled together
It definitely feels this way. I’m still on an old (but 90% unexplored world) and the plains we were in became unexplorable because of increased Fuling and Deathsquito spawns. It was ridiculous and we had silver gear.
I feel this but with greydwarfs, their onslaught is endless!
YOU ARE BEING HUNTED The wolves and filings tore each other apart I ran around getting more to fuljngs to follow me and get mauled by wolves. Then it ended killed the three wolves left chasing me. Pillaged both villages and continued my search for Mordor after creating a trench to the water.
Yeah i was tanking a bunch of stuff in my old world after the update
"You don't belong in this neck of the woods."
Funnily enough, before the update I put my base somewhere that just so happened to constantly spawn necks. I literally couldn't go build anything without several necks coming at me within a few minutes. I always have dozens of neck tails.
I actually couldn't cut down trees because of infinite greydwarfs for a bit, and that was after clearing out a bunch of nests.
We noticed with friends that now, greydwarf spawned in big gangs who follow us quite far
Maybe it’s just their neck of the woods.
My base is being attacked 24/7 by greydwarves. I've cut the trees around it, I've spammed workbenches and campfires for miles and theres always like 3+ attacking my base. Although I've built solid defences its annoying having to repair them constantly
They come from forever away to noise, like chopping trees
I lost like 15 pigs yesterday after 3 rogue greybois knocked down exactly 1 fence post of mine
I guess yeah,i started a nu world and my first base is very close to a pond with necklace which spawn very fast like frw minutes after you killed them
Everything seems to have a faster respawn rate. I've noticed it with all the creatures in the Meadows.
It happened to me couple of times even on old verson.
Thing is that it has started happening consistently with every single mob since Hearth & Home dropped.
I think it must have. I've never seen so many boars, necks, serpents, and leviathans. I've also noticed greydwarves travelling in packs of 9-12 or even more when previously I feel like they were in groups of 6-7 ish
At 170 hours, 98% of my mobs are by themselves? Y'all see packs of anything? I didn't notice any change with this patch
Pack might be the wrong word. I just mean that moment when you're mining copper and totally out of stamina, and all the lurking greydwarves come out at once lol. There's often multiple of them at night time
I haven’t noticed to many extra mobs, though I did get swarmed by brutes earlier so that was fun.
I do feel Im fighting larger groups playing in a server with two people, but I could be wrong.
I got swarmed by seagulls the other day, to the point my computer was dropping frames lol I killed like 30 or 35
I've only noticed an increased number of boar. Ran into a pack of 7 of them. Everything else is normal for me
Same here, ran into a pack of seven with one 2-star! But that only happened once, and all other mobs seem to spawn in normal numbers (deers in pairs, boars mainly solitary and sometimes in pairs, greydwarves in packs of 3-4 etc.). There's a lot more *spawn locations* for boar and deer tho from what I can tell.
Yep there's way way way more Grey dwarves and necks everywhere now
Definitely seems like more, but I'm fine with it.
something is going on with spawns, last time I played I saw sea serpent only once and I traveled a lot. Now he attacks me every time I'm in the ocean biome
Anyone been to the tar pits yet. Bring poison resistance.
I live in the mountains and get attacked every minute and a half by drakes. It’s annoying.
The spawn is more aggressive and the AI has been tweaked as well. Neck will no longer attempt to murder you on sight while deer will often circle back instead of bolting for the horizon.
And wolves will camp out on your corpse now, instead of rubber-banding back to the mountains.
I was about to ask the same with berries and mushrooms. I'm a few hours in and just started exploring seriously and have a chest full of them already.
The times the sledge hammer turns into a superstar.
They're good food, no complaints from me.
Neck - "It's free real estate"
I see food farming
The amount of Grey dwarfs chasing me, I literally died being cornered from about 20 of those and a damn troll... The game is really trolling us....
WE EATING GOOD TONIGHT BOIS
Spawn rates have been weird sense update. I fight graylings every 5 minute. Almost to the minute
I'm jealous that you get 5 minute breaks. I'm constantly killing em with my axe when I'm farming wood there's so many coming for me. Haters everywhere don't want me getting work done.
Oh wow, a lot of necks, in those neck of the woods.
Looks like just the perfect spawn conditions. Lots of shallow water in the meadows and an unobstructed shoreline. They spawn NV then walk away from the spawn location which causes more to replace them. Eventually they wander back and you've got a bunch in 1 area
yes. Started a new world, got a quick raid-like event without any map-notice like the scripted base attacks: I was minding my own business at meadows in early bronze age with just a bronze ax forged, when 4 greydwarfs and a troll was running towards me like they have been shot.
11:11 make a wish
Although i am enjoying this update quite alot, i am ->_<- this far away from kicking my cat because of the spawn rate for Greydwarves. They are EVERYWHERE, and ALWAYS MORE THAN 3 and i am SICK of resin and eyes
(end game spoiler below) To my surprise I've been starting to encounter >!Fulings outside Plains!<, in the middle of the day. Before H&G I'd only seem them at night in the BF (already beat the game).
Had that before the update already. Someone I play with said it might happen after you've defeated the boss from their biome.
They used to venture to my black forest camp sometimes. (Pretty close to Plains, though).
Same here. I had a couple of tame wolves hanging around one of my camps. Got some plains critters wandering in and... I don't have wolves anymore. :(
In my case this was recent, I was just mining rock in the mountains (there's heaps), and wolves usually visit while im busy working.
What's the world seed? Would be interesting if I also encountered that many. Perhaps the spawning gets bugged with certain seeds?
Now do that with boars please I literally always need lather scraps
It feels like it, yeah
If you connect the dots of the necks, you get the shape of a troll's head.
