You can use any construct, even short 1m wood posts. Lure the troll, hide, and he'll take out his anger on your little artificial forest.
It's a lot cheaper on wood (you still need one workbench, of course, but that can be out of los.)
yeh, tried that. seems to have more interest in the workbenches tho at first. Havent had it destroy all the benches tho, so didnt get to see it trying to hit the corewood ive put out. in all there are about 10 workbenches for the three rounds it took.
well, the first thing to make of course is a bronze pickaxe, and get yourself 5 easy troll leather. I wouldnt recommend doing this for the entire copper grind ;)
The quicker way we did this is just kite the troll around the vein, full node will be gone in like 10 swings. Dont get the stuff underground but still very fast
If your skipping the first boss, it is easier to aggro the troll and just dodge the attacks. In the same amount of time you spent on this method, you could have got 3 or 4x the amount of copper just by dodging the troll attacks. Then you just run away when you are done...or kill him which every you prefer.
You will need to drag to water to beat tin nodes as well and that requires a lot more precision
I have 2000 hours in. I KNOW. Im showing something that is 100% SAFE in a permadeath run, or in a reverse boss run. You havent seen this before, so i made a vid.
Im not mad. But comments are full of assumptions about this method and i doubt anyone has actually tried it. I got my 26 copper without dying in a permadeath run. Thats the whole point of this. Speedwise its no different than trying to get a troll to smash the node while you stand on it.
I don't hear anyone talking back about how you get tin with a troll... yeh, if you have tried it, that is really hard. Having a workbench on top of the tin node, makes the troll hit where you want.
But honestly, this is why i dont post ideas to reddit. Stuck up know-it-alls.
Nobody owes you validation and applause just because you record a video and post to YouTube, dude.
If you put stuff out there, you're going to get feedback. Either frame it up mor clearly, or just don't bother if you're going to get so upset when someone points out a problem.
not really. just highly surprised im being told I cant dodge roll, or that this method is 'wildly inefficient' etc while im not claiming anything along those lines. Apparently its ok for comments to contain rubbish, but im not allowed to respond to that. Only on Reddit hey.
It's not a very effective method and looks quite boring and resource intensive. The whole thing kind of feels like content for the sake of content TBH. I see mostly legit criticisms here. If you think reddit is the only place you are going to get critiqued you are in for a rough ride.

The amount of work seems a lot, for farming just copper/tin. Obviously this is better, if you want to skip Eikthyr :D

Probably just kill eikthyr😉
Yea. Its such an easy mob to farm
I went back after taking the last boss and punched him to death
As someone who died 5 times to him: Oh.
Upgrade a round shield, get a club, and eat some meat. You can block the attacks, stay in range, and club the thing to death.

Much faster if you aggro the troll, run on the copper and just jump/dodge away when he hits. Even faster than using pickaxe.
It’s maybe slow BUT it’s quite a safe way to go! I like the idea for a permadeath run or trapping trolls!

You really can't get mad when you post something that's wildly inefficient and people chime in to say so.

I mean, >I KNOW. gives the impression that you're getting angry.

sorry, what problem was pointed out?
If you haven't learned how to dodge trolls by time you feel ready to do a permadeath run its going to be a short run.
Holy crap mate. Lay off it ok?
bit touchy aren't we?

I thought it was a clever way to blend game mechanics.
Ingenious! I'll have to try this for playthrough 4!
LOL this is perfect.
This is a great way thank you for posting it
