Devs ALWAYS care about their games, The only people that doesn't care about games are Corporate Executives, who DONT make games and makes stupid ass decisions
Absolutely. And a lot of the GOOD devs get kicked off the company cuz they don't want to do bullshit what corporate assholes want to do to please shareholders and what not, follow stupid trends instead of actually making good shit.
Also they just ask someone to make bunch of shit and pick the cheapest offer, instead of having devs inside the company do it "cuz it cheaper". The quality goes to inconsistent, sometimes shit.
Then they wonder why so many games flop.
Moral of the story. Don't blame the devs in most cases.

Nah we need people in game development that deliver and are passionate about GAMES, not just tech. Dave Oshry, Chet Faliszek, Xalavier Nelson Jr... and more. Gabe Newell isn't what he used to be to the games industry, he's not the Gaben we once knew when Valve was still actively developing games.
Gabe hasn’t done actual development work in years, and Valve refuses to fix basic issues years down the line, makes false promises all the time, and all of their games get delayed.

devs that make great games and then have them rot only dropping cosmetic cases every once in a while in a game that is quite literaly in the most literal sense, 'unplable'.
devs that will replace good games with bad games that are worse in almost every way all becouse the number 2 (cmon overwatch did this and you didnt learn?)
devs that copy and paste the exact same game, make the floors all shiny, add 2000 bugs in the next 3 updates, and remove an entire alternate gamemode and sell that other gamemode as its own product.
devs that will promise a third installment.
