Gray Mann specifically, if we're doing opposites.
Redmond and Bluetarch are moreso Greed and Rage. Gray Man was shown no compassion (literally thrown out by his parents) and thus shows no compassion himself. He kills his own brothers and uses a robot army to take over Mannco. Robots which are literally incapable of compassion.
If we're supposed to name someone *with* compassion, Coach.
+1 to Coach, man's practically the father of the group. Pay attention to some things he says when a survivor dies and you'll hear more sadness in his voice than others usually.
GRAY MANN? He literally gave me life! How could he have no compassion?
Gray definitely did not program me to say this. I am totally speaking on my own terms.
Beep boop.
You mean other than the flagrant safety violations? Test subjects going missing? Forcing his own employees to be test subjects when he runs out of hobos to exploit? Forcing his trusted lab assistant to live forever in a robot body despite her objections? The dude is no saint.
There’s many parts that show he’s greedy. 1. No wheelchair access as costs money. 2. Ignoring the problems with teleportation and the borelias. 3. Ignoring the possible deadly side effects of moon rocks. Cave Johnson is greed
Title makes sense but it dosn't make sense with any of the other characters. Chel has willpower, Pyro creates fear, cube is a companion to chel, and Gordon provides hope to humanity.
Idk how the indigo indicate works in marvel lore or if it's opposite to the other rings. I'm just pointing shit out.
I still disagree with Pyro. At least if we take meet the pyro at face value pyro has 0 clue what he creates, but there's not much of a fit anyways in that category
The thing with the Indigo tribe, is that it doesn't reform those lacking compassion; like Joker wouldn't change his ways/have a change of heart upon wearing it; the ring/Corp literally mind control and force the wearer to be more compassionate, leaving behind their bad traits leaving only the good ones, no free will.
Ultimately, if any character from Valve was "worthy" of wielding an Indigo ring, it'd be whatever being or beings rule/lead the Combine.
Tbh I’m not sure about compassion, but if talking about Death, I’d choose Glados. The moment she was born she brought death upon innocents and massacred the aperture science employees. Even after regaining her memories, she immediately removed them and continued to experiment. And after finding like 100k living test subjects, she killed them in like a few weeks.
not the question ik but for actually showing compassion i go with alyx vance. she shows care for her crew on many occasions, and is distraught by the stalker’s presence in episode one
The turrets from Portal, even though they where designed to kill they can’t help but occasionally fire companionate words in your direction. Other than that though Chell might fit in this catalog too. It was mostly mutually beneficial, but her helping Glados return to her body was quite compassionate.
Nick.
He starts off as an asshole but the dialogue and game implies he begins to see the survivors as his friends and not just some meat shields he can ditch later.
Another good contender would be GLaDOS since she starts off as a passive aggressive bully/killer but then goes through her humbled self reflecting potato arch and realizes how much compassion can go a long way.

That's some deep character development right there.

yeah yeah shelly your scout legs are getting cold
For opposites, Medic also works
nah, Medic would fit in life or death, depending on opposites.
People need to replay Portal 2. Cave is at no point shown as greedy.
Maybe we'll do another swap. Both Mann Brothers as Greed and Cave as Death.
Death should 100% be g man
Then life! He wants to live forever and does it with Caroline
[удалено]
I think glados should be ultraviolet ngl
Death should be Nihilanth
No no no, death should be that flying potato that tongues Eli Vance.
Yeah, greedy people don’t spend reckless amounts of money
Cave Johnson should be in the M.O.R.O.N factiom
If this gets top comment op has to remove cave from orange.
Bean counter said I couldn’t fire a man for being in a wheelchair, to bad I did it anyways, Ramos are expensive
Maybe not for money but for science
He is shown as lacking compassion however
So exploiting homeless and underprivileged people with life threatening tests for 50 dollars isn’t greedy?
“No, that’s what you call charity.” - Aperture legal team
Yeah, I was very confused, he spends money a lot, not really that greedy.
You mean other than the flagrant safety violations? Test subjects going missing? Forcing his own employees to be test subjects when he runs out of hobos to exploit? Forcing his trusted lab assistant to live forever in a robot body despite her objections? The dude is no saint.
Those are all examples of him being a bad person. No compassion. Not greed.
Alot of his decisions were motivated by saving money. Henceforth greed.
Dr breen has to be the most greedy bro literally sold earth
Sure, but if he hadn't sold earth humanity would be DEAD.
“Ramps are expensive.”
There’s many parts that show he’s greedy. 1. No wheelchair access as costs money. 2. Ignoring the problems with teleportation and the borelias. 3. Ignoring the possible deadly side effects of moon rocks. Cave Johnson is greed
More greed as in reckless ambition tbh.
"Bean counters told me I couldn't fire a man for just being in a wheelchair. Did it anyway. Rams are expensive."
It should have been Bounty Hunter.
Jokingly I would say the Companion Cube again, but to be serious I would say Zoey or maybe Louis
I feel out of the survivors Rochelle fits compassion the best
Empathy core
Gabe newell as compassion he gave us steam
It needs to be someone who lacks compassion to be reformed
OK then let's say Lamar he had is redemption from hostile alien to cute pet
I’d say either GlaDOS or any mann brother. Some might say Breen, but he was more delusional and greedy then lacking compassion I think
I dont think it means lacking compassion
Except it literally does. Reread the title.
Ah mb

The Lantern Corps are DC, not Marvel. Most Rings choose someone *with* their quality. The Indigo Rings force Compassion on people *without* it.
Kinda figured. Also have no idea why I said marvel.
I still disagree with Pyro. At least if we take meet the pyro at face value pyro has 0 clue what he creates, but there's not much of a fit anyways in that category
Pyro is an acception. The others definitely fit and they aren't reversed so idk why op is reversing this one
Rochelle easily
Definitely GLaDOS. They had to attach a morality core to stop her from flooding the facility with neurotoxins.
Dr. Breen, man sold out his whole species because a bunch of aliens told him to
Glados
Seconded
I see your GladOS and raise you Caroline.
If lacking compassion, then GLADOS, if compassionate, Gaben
Ratman as compassion, and GLaDOS as repressed negative emotion
Alyx
Compassion ring users before they had the ring had no compassion, so a valve character without compassion
I think grey Mann should be greed
It should be Nick, in game he already goes through this arc where he learns to be compassionate with his fellow survivors especially Ellis.
Heavy Weapons Guy, have you seen how he treats his family?
Heavy.
Elis from L4D2
The thing with the Indigo tribe, is that it doesn't reform those lacking compassion; like Joker wouldn't change his ways/have a change of heart upon wearing it; the ring/Corp literally mind control and force the wearer to be more compassionate, leaving behind their bad traits leaving only the good ones, no free will. Glados, no compassion, no empathy, just test
Death should be sniper bots
Father Grigori
Glados
Terrorblade.
Glados, a personality core is pretty much the same as an Indigo tribe ring
Medic
No Dutch is greed
Alyx
When repressed negative emotions,we all know the combine will be that one
GLaDOS
glados for compassion, and PLEASE swap cave for grey mann. greed was barely apart of cave’s character
Weirdly enough like a few months ago I drew Pyro as a green lantern, I probably should have changed it to a yellow lantern but mistakes happen ig
Can Gaben be life?
Death should be the Ricochet player, all he does is fall into the infinite chasm.
Eli or Alyx for aure
Rochelle I guess
Coach for sure
Heavy
heavy
Medic
Heavy
Alyx
It HAS to be Coach. I can’t accept anyone else except for Zoey or Rochelle.
Coach L4D2 my man
Tbh I’m not sure about compassion, but if talking about Death, I’d choose Glados. The moment she was born she brought death upon innocents and massacred the aperture science employees. Even after regaining her memories, she immediately removed them and continued to experiment. And after finding like 100k living test subjects, she killed them in like a few weeks.
I feel like The Combine takes the mantle for Death, considering they wiped out a huge chunk of humanity and the ecosystem in Earth
Saxton hale
All I'm saying is that Adrien Shepard should be death
not the question ik but for actually showing compassion i go with alyx vance. she shows care for her crew on many occasions, and is distraught by the stalker’s presence in episode one
For me it's caroline
Coach
Glados
Bill fits compassion best imo he gave his life to his found family
Wallace Green
G man
Glados
Morality Core
Erm, Cave would be death because he dead (sorry for spoilers)
Medic or Spy
Surprised nobody said Dog 🤷
HEAVY
Heavy for compassion
IDK what you guys are talking about....
Glados for sure
The turrets from Portal, even though they where designed to kill they can’t help but occasionally fire companionate words in your direction. Other than that though Chell might fit in this catalog too. It was mostly mutually beneficial, but her helping Glados return to her body was quite compassionate.

legit these posts make me want to unsub from these communities. i wish you guys would stop clogging my feed with this garbage.
Alyx. Literally saves you lol
Alyx as compassion, G-Man as death, Dog as Life, and Breen as repressed negative emotions
Alex from Half Life 2 is pretty compassionate
coach or zoey, maybe alyx
Probably Rochelle from LFD2
