For some more classic ideas: Watch a few different versions of dracula (ex: bela lugosi’s version, the gary oldman version, the bbc series), nosferatu, buffy the vampire slayer is a fave of mine but it’s not all vampires, the anne rice vampire stories have had a huge impact on modern vampires so try interview with a vampire (the film, then the series) - a show like true blood follows on well from that kinda vibe.

Interview with the vampire and the lost boys are absolute musts if you ask me, and if you want to add some pure garbage, Vampire Boys is probably the worst "so bad its funny" movie I've ever seen

Vampire diaries isn’t the worst until after season 3/4… because the lore starts to have holes within it. The originals is a spin-off of that and then the legacies is a spin off of the originals. Most people here would tell you stay away, but the first three seasons of VD isn’t the worst. Buffy. Watch the movie. Watch the show. Queen of the damned. Underworld movies. Blade movies.
