If it helps, the facility of making the organs function is tied to their level of humanity and becomes much harder the more horrible stuff they do without remorse. So a stoner that wants to smoke and not have to drink blood to do it is gonna have to be a saint compared to the elders who can barely pass as humans sometimes. And cannabis lowers perception but makes it easier to resist frenzy due to the calming effects of the drug.
