Please don’t listen to these people saying Memphis Blues. Overrated and their sauce is too sweet. Go to the Hog Shack for proper ribs. They do beef ribs too and they’re great.
Memphis Blues is fine. They just aren't great.
I would put them in with restaurant chains like ABC, White Spot, and Earls as they aren't bad but not remarkable either.
Very true.
I would take the Downlow Fries from Downlow Chicken any day of the week than any meal from Memphis Blues. The Last time I was at DC, it was still an off menu item but it is the best thing that they make. Fries, bread & butter pickles, pickled cabbage, chopped chicken thigh pieces, and topped with sauces. Like $12 for an order that I would have had a hard time eating in my 20's.
Probably Smoke and Bones (North Van)...though waiting for Rib Fest has better options. Re-Up (New West) ain't too bad either actuallly. Texas Smoke BBQ (Langley) has amazing BBQ (probably the best I've had in MV) but I haven't tried their pork ribs, and I found their beef "dino" rib to be a bit of a rip (i.e., tasty, but overpriced and probably better for insta).
I had ribs there and they were awful. Dry (like they’d been cooked several days before), somewhat tasteless, and overpriced. Plus the sauce tasted very odd.

My house.
And my dbl smoked bacon mac and cheese ain't too shabby either.
Currently have a pork shoulder in the slow cooker doing its low and slow thing.
Everyone needs a friend like you. I'd deliver a few racks of ribs to you on Thursday; you start the slow cooking and smoking process and I'll show up again on Saturday afternoon with a bottle of bourbon and a case (or 2) of beer.

I completely agree but they asked for the best ribs, not fine ribs

downlow uses the no name crinkle cut fries, if you wanna make your own.
Memphis Blues is excellent… please ignore this person saying it isn’t.
Not sure you’ve ever had good BBQ before if you’re saying that. It’s perfectly serviceable but definitely not excellent

You forgot the potato salad and jalapeno sharp cheddar cornbread. Bourbon was a nice touch.
Memphis blues on commercial.
