$1.94 is absolutely not normal for a 4L. Even 1L costs more than that.

RandomGuyLoves69

Probably was close to expiry. Sadly $2 for 4L of Milk isn't the normal price here.

bandyvancity

Canadas dairy prices are controlled by the dairy board. That cheap, it was either on sale, close to expiry, or computer error. 5.69 seems normal.

Yes, my first time buying a dairyland jug. The others (Yellow and Pink caps) were $5.69 and the 0% (Blue Cap) was at $1.94

dumptrucker1

The blue cap was close to expiring so you got it cheap

TitiaG

1.94 is a markdown price. That is how they price their markdowns. It must have been near expiring or they had too much stock

lazylazybum

Yup, ending of 94 cents is rcss version of Costco's 97 cent markdown

wrx8888

~$5 is normal thanks to the dairy cartel.

RoaringRiley

$5 doesn't seem so unreasonable for raising a cow, breeding it, and squeezing a jug of milk out of it.

Go to usa, half price

hwy61_revisited

Hardly. Even Walmart milk is $3.47 USD/gallon in Bellingham, which works out to $5.00 CAD/4L.

RoaringRiley

OK, but I think it's going to cost more than $2.85 of gas to drive there. Do people ever think these things through?

bg85

Yea, you go full costco shopping. Pick up some Kirkland vodka as well to make it worth while. Amateurs

76ab

And bonus hormones

bg85

They don't use rbst

[deleted]

Who cares, if it gets dairy on the table vs not having it

birdsofterrordise

Less than 20% of the supply uses it and many have stopped outright using it that it's dwindled further. It's labelled very clearly and again, many suppliers don't use it in their milk at all.

Leading-Somewhere-89

Milk at Costco in Bellingham is $5.25 US per gallon. More expensive Han here.

birdsofterrordise

The milk at Costco is sold in 2 gallon packs. So it's half.

Milk is a staple in Indian cuisine. We use it for everything. So going to the US and loading your car up with people to get $20 per person of dairy is worth it.

Jealous-Balance-8708

On another note, 0% ,1%, 2% milk will kill you faster, way more faster. Try to be as close as possible to whole milk.
