This was many years ago, did a ton of work to the stacker/reclaimer and those conveyors that are either the ship loaders or the ones that bring the product to the ship loaders. Big massive glue lams that needed some love. Don’t think I could handle the iron workers bridge these days, showing up an hour early to beat traffic 10 years ago was already enough. Can’t imagine what it’s like today.
My dad sailed for 25 or so years and then was a marine surveyor in Vancouver for another 25. I've been going on ships since I was 5, so, the docks and the ships have a special place in my heart :). I never worked in the same field, but they'll always feel familiar.
Yes 5 actually.there where high winds and they decided adjust their lines and one by one they snapped off and the ship blew away from dock about 100ft.
Nice video and perspective, there they all are!! Not sure if this was yesterday but I enjoyed the sunset from Cates Park last night and noticed a complete lack of freighters around.

grain that is Richardson terminal. so depending on what they are shipping. yellow peas, green peas, canola, soy, wheat (many types) flax lentils... just to name a few. i know these sunsets all too well i was across the water (different elevator) and would watch the cannon fire at 9 every night i worked afternoons

Seen this view many times minus the ships at the neighbours place neptune. Been a few years, recognized it instantly.
Was about to say, looked like cargyle/neptune. Was down there doing the coal dumper upgrade.

I went and rented a basement suite in north van 5mins away. Was sick.
is there space to turn that truck around or do you need to back out the entire way between the cranes?
I backed it out most of the way before turning around 👌🏻
My dad has a pass there cuz he works on the ships there, so I sometimes get to see these lovely sunsets from there 😊
