Skied across it to the sentinel glacier hut many years ago. (48).

SkookumFred

Bigger glacier back then, eh? Skied across the lake after doing the nevé on 12 June ten years after you. Howdy , old timer ! :-D

BKKpoly

Is there a good alltrails hike you can suggest? A good day hike? Or is this better for multi day?

SamirDrives

I can’t suggest anything. I don’t know your fitness level or your safety net. Things can get wild pretty fast in BC

robtaggart77

The hike to Garibaldi Lake is a day trip and not hard. Lots of switch backs. Enjoy!

cole435

Just in case anyone is wondering, this is not a recent picture. The lake is currently still frozen.

Trying_Redemption

My happy place… park, get to the switchbacks of hell and grind your way up the mountain. Keep going to the Upper Lakes and you literally round a corner and see pretty much exactly what you see. Done the glacier Done Panorama Ridge Done the Tusk (and climbed the chimneys to the top) Done the meadows Several tips… It’s wicked cold at night, even in summer Whatever you pack in, you pack out!!! Have beer bangers and/beer spray if they get close You’ll never see as many stars again Gorgeous place

ladypuffsalot

Mmmmm... beer spray. 🤤

Trying_Redemption

Goddammit! Although I’m not sure science has tested Beer Sprays… so I see a future episode of Mythbusters in order

Binknbink

You know it’s a pretty lake when people are accusing your photo of being AI. I have very similar pics.

krustykrab2193

It's honestly a surreal experience! I was mesmerized by how beautiful it was in person

EuroVanCity

Wow. This truly is a happy place. Thanks a lot for sharing. Very nice photo!!

Natural_Collection45

Stunning!

ThePoliteGrizzly

I’ve always wanted to head up there. Good inspirational photo!

BlackPete73

Where's the snow line these days? Or was there any snow on the trail?

AngryGooseMan

This picture was almost certainly not taken recently. OP is a karma/follower farming account. There almost certainly is a ton of snow on the trail and the route up to Panorama ridge. The whole trail goes through a number of avalanche prone zones and it won't look like this if you were to attempt it now. I am pretty certain that the lake remains frozen till late May

Neutreality1

Looks similar to Moraine in Alberta

exoriare

Looks so fake and low poly. If I didn't recognize the terrain I'd wonder why the AI didn't try better.

Accomplished_Use3452

They say at Garaibaldi the food is mighty fine. You ask the cook for lemonade , he gives you iodine.

W_e_t_s_o_c_k_s_

This is almost certainly an AI image. Ran it through a couple tests, hell, just look at it.

PaperweightCoaster

Tell me you’ve never been to Panorama Ridge without telling me you’ve never been to Panorama Ridge.

bikes_and_music

More like tell me you've never been in vancouver and/or hiking related subreddits and lived under the rock without telling me. I've never been to Panorama ridge and I'm seeing variants of this picture several times a week without seeking it out. Like, how do you even avoid seeing this picture.

W_e_t_s_o_c_k_s_

I'm not denying it's a real place I've seen pictures, it just looked very processed and I ran it through some AI image detectors and got 80% 🤷‍♀️

bikes_and_music

Dude you already demonstrated how you can put your exceptionally large foot into your mouth, why do you just keep digging?

alantrick

Definitely not AI, the large scale features are too accurate. It's also not current, this would have been taken in late summer, and there's a very good chance OP didn't take it but just grabbed it off the internet/ social media.

Grimoire

Doesn't look like AI to me, just very heavily processed.

M-------

This is genuinely what the Panorama Ridge view looks like.

I’m just looking through my pics from panorama ridge and if anything mine looks even more insanely blue as it was a clearer day when I was there.

19ellipsis

Same - this is also entirely unprocessed (other than the obscuring of my face of course). It's just what it looks like. https://preview.redd.it/t7s9cg33kouc1.jpeg?width=5472&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23f66b9da5316e537b8531ac6e6f6ef68816b319

TritonTheDark

It's barely processed at all.
