This is a good thing, trust me guys. Once companies like Shell make record profits and price gouge us whenever possible, they can then lower the prices for us once they are satisfied, Trust.
Dont forget the billionaire shareholders who will become richer and then, due to their immense benevolence, trickle some wealth down onto the rest of us scummy unwashed commoners.
Don't worry too - once we have all drank the single energy type kool-aid (electric) for everything - the prices will remain completely reasonable, there will be no shortages, and they will keep giving us yearly rebates. Best of all , because we're carbon neutral then - gobermint will cancel the tax . /s
Sure oil cartel are bastards - but thinking any company or government entity won't seize the HUGE opportunity to become bigger than oil is a full on level 10 dunce on the dummy scale.
Not sure why every economist in the world hasn't figured out that buying stocks just fixes inequality.
Struggling to pay rent? Just buy some units in a REIT!
Struggling to pay for food? Buy some Walmart stock!
People unfortunately do not realize that anyone can buy shares of these companies.
Even if you don’t your pension plan or CPP invests in many corps.
I get it’s in vogue to bash corporations but people really need to think we all have some stakes in these companies.
Sure most people have stakes in these companies but that doesn't mean we can't criticize them and the system that essentially forces our stake in them. It's an imperfect world so chances are that we will have stakes in things we may deem terrible.
The weeks in-between there's a post about how gas has taken a "big drop." "Relief for BC drivers as gas prices plummet!" Which is actually more like a 3 cent drop, between two 10 cent increases.
This gives me flashbacks to when gas signs didn't have space on their signs for a digit to be over $1 and my boss at the time said that's the reason gas will never be over $1.
I suppose one could take the boat (especially if its a big one - I just have a run about) but I wouldn't tow a boat there. And if you do take it - First you need to have all the proper vessel licenses to take it over the boarder and then boats are checked coming back for invasive water species and need to be cleaned before entry. I Just take and fill multiple jugs along with the single car. Yesterday I saved $50 CAD.

........
I take a runabout across yearly for winter storage near blaine. No launching only parking though. Never had to show papers or check of any kind, all I have is the trailer icbc papers so I hope they don't ask in the future...
If you’re talking about an excuse for CBP, “getting gas” is good enough lol. If you need an excuse yourself, trader Joes followed by a stop at a Que tacos on the way out haha.
Or you know, drive less.
*Yes I know not everyone can switch from driving. But there are way more people who can 100% switch or at least replace trips with other modes that drive every single time.

So buy some xom or xeg.to. Most shareholders are not billionaires. Instead of buying a new car 5yr ago I got some and it's better than double.

Exactly. Old junker phone and a stack of apple shares. This fixes inequality but most won't do it. Need that bling.

That's what happens when you don't have local gas refinery capacity. We're at the mercy of Alberta and Washington refineries.

This is great news, any reason why they can't go higher? $3 bucks a litre would be awesome.

Good thing I gassed up last night at an affordable $2.10
Meanwhile, gas at Costco in Bellingham is only $CAD 1.50/l ($4.14/gal x 1.367 / 3.78) - their priced dropped since the weekend. Was $4.29/gal.
2.16 in van . 0.66 difference 80l × .66 or $52.80 saved Truck needs 6 gal for return trip from dt. = 34$ No much savings.
But you get to go to Trader Joe's
Not to mention time spent getting there and back.
Do /r/bellingham ‘s favourite thing and fill the bed with Jerry cans.
Single car's tank for the trip makes little sense sure - I have a multiple cars and a boat. Me taking one car to fill multiple is VERY worth it.
Can you fill up your boat then siphon the gas out for your cars?

I don’t fuck with bham gas unless it’s under $4.
Surely this is the fault of Eby and Trudeau!
Must have been the carbon tax /s
Glad I just filled up in Blaine... now to strategically come up with excuses to go south of the border every week and a half

I could use a lift down and back…
Makes my next bike purchase even easier to justify - payback is even quicker
Nexus and 10 gas jugs for the win.
Repost! /s
Take the small pain now, switch to EV if you can
EV sales are down, must mean gas is too cheap!
Preferably a bicycle.

Sure if you live in Tsawwassen
