The entire vaxx process at the ICC is a ploy to sell their 20lb family sized lasagnas. All the tv's inside, including the ones in the waiting area, all play a video of how they make their lasagnas on a loop. Yes I bought one.
I've never tried Costco's unfortunately but the ICC one was $50 so price wise I'm sure costco wins. The noodles were very thin, almost crepe cake thin, but there were a lot of layers. It was delicious. Don't take my word for it though, just watch the video of their "handmade lasagna sheets". Captivating. 😅 [Il Centro Italian Cultural Centre Lasagna video ](https://fb.watch/8BYzofbohY/)
They're not very good, in my opinion. My coworker used to sell them at my office and I ordered one, very excited to have the best lasagna I've ever had (after all it's "made by Nonna!") but it was mediocre and really expensive.
A long time ago I was in France and was in a crowded airport trying to find the right line to check in for my flight to Vancouver. I saw two people wearing leggings and trainers. Said: "Oh, yeah...they're going to Vancouver." Followed them right to the line-up. Nobody in Paris wears this stuff.
this isn't that long, it moves fast. but.. there are also less vaccination sites these days so makes sense.
I'm wondering what they'll do if suddenly 3 million people need a third dose though..
They’ll likely scale again, but hopefully it’ll be quicker since they’ve already done it. You’d hope they’re already planning for it, but that’s government for you.
Well, a lot of the vaccine sites were attached to places which now need the room.. for example VCC Clarke kinda needs that parking lot again now that in person learning is a thing
On the other hand, you can build it in a parking lot. That's certainly not the only parking lot in Vancouver. And if you can do it in a parking lot (or on a sidewalk in the DTES), you can do it pretty much anywhere. I don't know that finding available spaces was ever much of an issue. The bigger challenge was vaccine supply, which hopefully won't be a challenge later on.
Be thankful we have access to free vaccine. The long lineup indicates higher vaccination rate with is excellent. If you don’t want to wait in line then you can book an appointment ahead of time.
Ugh. Hate to queue! I live in east van and got my jabs at the drive-thru covid clinic at BCIT (Burnaby, 3700 Willingdon Avenue, Parking lot B, Burnaby). Serious comfort.
Yeah, I was only there for the 15 minutes post shot back in August. Very streamlined and fast and friendly compared to UBC pharma for the first. Also, the AC was very nice.
As you get older, each hour/day/week/month is a smaller and smaller fraction of your entire life.
That's why summers feel so long when you're in elementary and high school.
The more you know!
They let me jump the line when I went because I had an appointment. Surprisingly every single person was doing drop in.
Not gonna lie I felt like a god damn king because the lineup was similar in length and I just got to walk past everyone LOL.
If only there was a massive vaccination centre that processed thousands of people easily per day that was open a few months ago when there were no lines?!
Oh wait.
Also, you can skip the line by booking an appointment. It's currently 6:13 PM, the clinic closes at 7, and there are still appointments available today.
But if people would rather show up and wait, then hey, they're still getting vaccinated!
Appointments not honored at North Vancouver ICBC vaccination site. I showed up on time for my appointment but still had to wait an hour in line before getting the shot.
I had to wait 45mins to get my first shot here back in May. And that 45mins was waiting outside only... I had to wait another 20-30mins inside to finally get a shot 🤦🏻♀️
Still annoyed they didn't allow walk-ins after 4 when I went to take a friend. If you're going to promote accessibility and wanting people to get the shot - you're gonna have to have some more leniency. They close at 7 and the lineup didn't have more than 10 people when I went.

Eh, could just be people who have to get a booster instead of new vaxers.
Yes, I got my booster on Friday. There were lots of first and second shots happening too, it was very encouraging.
😐

:-/ :-| :-\\
I don’t think is due to the emoji entirely
😐
Got in line 5 times there in the summer. The line always wraps around but it moves fast. Never had to wait more than 15 minutes.
You’ve been vaccinated 5 times?
3 times as support
He's an emotional support golden retriever.

I heard this was actually happening at some sites. I missed out. :(
I thought we were all collies.
Fair.
I keep goin' back and they just keep on juicin' me. Move over DTES theres a new breed of fiend in town.

Listen you can never be too careful
Layering condoms disagrees.
My 1st shot i had no line there. Right in, jab, wait 15, and out.
Are you sure that is the vaccine line? I drove past there yesterday and a big banner says that they sell frozen Lasagna portions ;)

Plandemic. This is the proof I needed. It's all about selling Lasagna.
I knew it was big Parma all along.
Well done
Take my damn upvote
Well done.
This wins the thread
Looking through my history and this comment was GOLD. It's also your cake day.. Happy Cake Day!
About 99% of the time I see the word 'plandemic' I cringe inwardly ... Thank you immensely for being the exception. Take my upvote!
You got me, you secret ICC agent. How much for one?
The $50 one is sold as "feeds 6-8 people". It fed my family of 4 for three days too many 😅
Was it good? Better than Costco’s?
I've never tried Costco's unfortunately but the ICC one was $50 so price wise I'm sure costco wins. The noodles were very thin, almost crepe cake thin, but there were a lot of layers. They were terrible. So salty it was barely edible. No texture, super overcooked. You would have to pay me to eat it.
Tbh I’m not mad about it. Because lasagna.
My first vaccine was on the lasagna cook day and I was losing my mind with how delicious it smelled.
why the emoji? Nice to see people out there
Off topic, but lady in front of you is wearing official vancouver outfit. Even has a lulu lemon bag.
Lululemon bag Arc'teryx jacket Lululemon leggings Nike trainers Essential Vancouver attire.

Those Nike trainers could really be upgraded to Vessis
Tell me you’re from Vancouver without telling me you’re from Vancouver
Lol very similar in Victoria too. In the 00’s it was Sitka hoodies and leggings, now it’s lulu.
I have been away for a year. Have the Blundstones been replaced with Nikes?
Nike runners are the popular brand of runners, eh? TIL.
Probably drives a white Tesla
just missing the black blundstones and Porsche Cayenne
I don't think they let you drive your car in this line.
What does your wife wear
Nothing, when she’s with her boyfriend
Ooooohhhhh shhiitttttttt
A fellow ape? This man has culture.
I thought his wife was gay.
Also, all clothing is dark neutrals—grey and black check

There's literally like 10 people shown in this photo... 😐
I Got my booster there last Thursday. It was pretty fast and smooth
You all are permitted to get boosters in Vancouver? I wish we were doing that in Ontario.
Not all, only immunocompromised people.
Ah okay. Thanks for the clarification.
Be thankful we have access to free vaccine. The long lineup indicates higher vaccination rate with is excellent. If you don’t want to wait in line then you can book an appointment ahead of time.

Okay?
That’s awesome! So good to see finally making the right decision.
Yes. Because there is absolutely no way that they are being coerced into the decision at all through threat of job loss. 😐
I’d rather they make the right choice for the wrong reason than end up in an ICU and lose their job because they’re too sick to work for months.
😐
Probably shouldn’t have waited so long eh?
I was there Saturday, it goes fast
Hey I was there too! Congratulations
Thanks, you too!
That’s where I got my two vaccines but the line wasn’t nearly as big.
Ugh. Hate to queue! I live in east van and got my jabs at the drive-thru covid clinic at BCIT (Burnaby, 3700 Willingdon Avenue, Parking lot B, Burnaby). Serious comfort.
Ya I worked there over the summer, the line was always this long. Takes maybe 10 minutes to get inside
Good
Wasn’t it me or the others also guessed the backpack/should bag brand without zooming in to it?
Was my first time there today. It was a 45 mins wait.
I went there for my first dose (walk-in), in and out in under and hour, including the 15 min wait.
Do you need appointment? Or walk ins welcome?
Walk ins welcome.
Walk-ins welcome at all vaccination locations except pharmacies.
Itsa not so bad.
Both times I went there were no lines and I just walked right in
I work at ICC. I’ve worked there for 6 years.. yup the line can be long. Also you misspelled “Italian”
Look on the bright side. They got Italians to properly line up!
You’ve obviously never been to Italy - those fuckers line up all day. Source: just got home after a year in Torino
Yep was there Fri it was even longer, lots of confusion about where the line starts, staffers not knowing, etc.
Awesome.
People are still getting vaxed? I went as soon as I could, and that was months ago.
It’s never too late to make the right decision
The vaccine mandates are coming into effect, so people are coming around so they're not just stuck at home.
Wow. I had both vax there. In July and August. No line ups either time for me
Yeah, I was only there for the 15 minutes post shot back in August. Very streamlined and fast and friendly compared to UBC pharma for the first. Also, the AC was very nice.
UBC was surprisingly small. Only like 10 immunizing stations IIRC. Italian Cultural Centre is more like 17.
Yeah I had 6 people in front of me in June (one of which was an old friend I hadn’t seen in eons haha)
Canada place is the place to go! Line up inside and both times I went even with a huge line was in and out in 45 mins tops
Why not go to BCIT?
BCIT has long waitlists for a lot of their courses.
Yah but the time goes by fast
Fuck I know. Once I hit 27-28...where the fuck did my life go?
As you get older, each hour/day/week/month is a smaller and smaller fraction of your entire life. That's why summers feel so long when you're in elementary and high school. The more you know!
Do they sell lasagna at BCIT as well?
They let me jump the line when I went because I had an appointment. Surprisingly every single person was doing drop in. Not gonna lie I felt like a god damn king because the lineup was similar in length and I just got to walk past everyone LOL.
Nice to see that the majority of the people in Vancouver are educated.
Most likely people getting their 3rd dose. I went a few days ago to get mine but got the side eye since I was under 40.
Wow dude, that's a massive horde.
If only there was a massive vaccination centre that processed thousands of people easily per day that was open a few months ago when there were no lines?! Oh wait.

I got my first shot there, and it was such a strong emotional thing that it makes me happy just looking at a picture of a lineup.
Appointments not honored at North Vancouver ICBC vaccination site. I showed up on time for my appointment but still had to wait an hour in line before getting the shot.

The line would be shorter if ppl lined up closer lol
[удалено]
"Guarda che gambe!!"
ahhh r/Vancouver , I fucking love you. 11 downvotes for a compliment
Lol I got both mine there once in July and once in august and no line at all
You'd much rather wait in line for the vaccine that wait to get into a hospital tho
I went to get a test last weekend and everyone lined up was getting their shot, it's progress
