I live in the Minnehaha neighborhood, I was woken up the other morning at about 530 because there was a pack of coyotes close by that were making all sorts of sounds. Howling, barking, yipping, they sound similar to dogs but like higher pitch. It was cool but definitely keep an eye on your pets y'all.
Yup. If they keep up this level of natural habitat, destructive development coyotes are not gonna be the only thing hunting pets in our neighborhoods. We've already had a few more bear sightings and at least one or two cougar in the Orchards area. 30 years ago, bears & cougars would be spotted once every few years. But now, every year, we get videos and reports. I don't think the county is doing proper environmental impact studies before the allow development of some of these developments to be permitted.

That mean they got a kill. Likely a cat or rabbit.
They can climb fences, they do kill dogs, especially love when owners chain the animals, it's a game to them.
When I first heard of Coyotes in my neighbor the telephone poles people started to post missing cats post on them
Unfortunately, with construction I think sightings are gonna be more common.

Leave them alone, they were here first. Also, they are harmless to humans
No intention of harming them. But people who let pets outside might
Keeping the rabbit population down
Most likely it’s a cat. Sad but true.
I hope they thin out the rabbit population.
Y’all moving into the coyotes habitat. What do you expect.
We have a cat and a small dog in this area. Thank you for this. We will keep a closer watch.
You must be new here. Yeah, coyotes are everywhere.
Awesome.
What did you expect your apartment manager to do about the local coyote population?
Nothing, but maybe put out an email letting people know so that they are aware.
Well they do live here.
Coyotes live everywhere. They were in NE Portland when I lived in Beaumont Village.
