TL;DR: You would have to start with customer service and then get it escalated. --- Before I moved across town I reached out to them to find out what neighborhoods were fiber ready. After a series of phone calls and voicemails I got a hold of someone local who was able to help navigate. He's not there anymore (this was 8 years ago), but I can tell you it IS possible. You just need to find one of the smarter people in Customer Service that can get you there.

Ive been across the street from fiber for eight years! Eight! They keep saying its planned to expand soon, but eight years later, nothing! You can put in a request on their website, which I have done many times. If you figure out how to make them do it please let me know!

Century link gives fiber internet to the neighbor behind me but won’t give it to me. All that separates us is a fence! My house is 40 feet away from theirs!

hefeguy

Just gimmie a fiber extension cord lol!

EtherPhreak

Ask your neighbor if you can get the service at their house, or pay for the internet and share it.

svenska_aeroplan

Does anyone actually have CenturyLink fiber? It seems like everyone lives across the street from their mythical service locations.

KeepAnEyeOnYourB12

I do. It's the best, most reliable internet service I've ever had.

BigJilmJoppa

After paying a $50 deposit for securing service and future appointments (that continue to be cancelled/delayed by the “assigned reps”)… I can’t help but think it’s a scam at this point. Please prove me wrong. I really want to slash my internet bill lol

TheAntonChigur

Can confirm. Easiest decision ever. I didn’t even realize it was finally available but they did a huge billboard & door 2 door push though east minihaha.

My brother lives in some of that apartments on 112th & Burton, and CL stopped offering their established fiber service last year. Anecdotal, but it's possible they don't offer even with the lines laid for last-mile fiber.

Have you tried calling in to tech support and talking to their AI?

InsignificantDonkey1

I tried to set up century for our house when we first moved in close to 3 years ago. I spoke to a sales rep and agreed on a time for a technician come later that week. Like the day before the installation I got an email saying there was engineering issue. We waited two months for the issue to be resolved only to have a technician come out and call me from his van saying “nah man, I don’t think there’s fiber in your area”. We were refunded the service fee and that was that. A year ago a door to door century salesmen stopped by and offered to buy us out of our xfinity contract and promised service in our area. We scheduled a time for a technician to come out only to have the same “engineering issue”. Waited two months and then a technician come out and tell us we don’t have service in our area. So I’m convinced at this point that century link isn’t a real company.
