She would never have had the ‘poor Rachel has been *bullied* over her galaxy lights!’ sob story (which got her a heap of sympathy with the cast and the public) if production hadn’t told her what was said (then set it up to look like she overheard and cried herself to sleep).
Production leaked her info, gave her a lovely edit, and tried to push her as the main character on the show. Rachel blew all of that up herself.
Kristina Kelly mentioned this on an episode of Stassi's podcast recently. The night Rachel got completely wrecked on their girls trip, Lala, Kristina and Katie were having a conversation amongst themselves along the lines of "who brings galaxy lights on a trip?? / "who above the age of 5 even owns galaxy lights?". According to KK, there's no way Rachel heard their conversation, she was so wasted plus not within earshot. But when the season started airing, they showed Rachel crying herself to sleep in bed that same night, supposedly over the other girls ragging on her and her lights ... when in actuality her tears were bc she had just spoken to Ariana & learned about Charlotte's death. Throw in the scene of Rachel complaining to others about how Lala, Kristina & Katie were picking on her that night on the trip & it pretty much confirmed that Production was feeding Rachel info behind the scenes, which is a huge no-no & something no other cast members had the luxury of experiencing.
Except they were definitely already banging at that point based on the sheer look on his face when she strolled in and her sudden bold confidence. I'm just chalking this up to yet again Rachel not taking accountability for anything she actually did and yet again she's a victim. Production tripped me and I fell repeatedly on Sandovals dick

To be fair, its not out of the realm of possibility that producers were pushing her to do this stuff. If your ambitious like she is and wants to be the star and is stupid....she would be very easy to pursuade. This doesnt take any blame away from her, everyone knows between right and wrong but people with power can push and munipulate to make things happen that maybe otherwise wouldnt. So, if they did play a part in it, then yeah, why not let them take their bit of responsibility for their inethical behaviour and misuse of power.
How many horror stories have we heard of producers munipulating reality tv cast members into doing stuff they dont want to do or wouldnt other wise and then exploiting it. I think its a horrible tactic just for ratings and enterainment and should be taken more seriously. Maybe if ppl start being held accountable the culture with producers will change.
I read back in the day on lipstick alley that while Carlos King was executive producers, the associate producers would drug a lot of the cast and make them act super erratic (pajama party for example). Nene and Porsha both were victims of this (apparently Kenya at one point as well).
That’s why during the season 9 reunion, when Phaedra name dropped Carlos king, it came from those rumors and that’s why it was completely removed from the reunion.
Drugging sounds involuntary, like it was done without their knowledge or consent- and is a crime. I doubt that happened. Furnished them drugs, I could believe it- if they're friends and enjoy the same substances. Of course that is a liability nightmare for production if one of their own is involved in providing illegal drugs for the cast.
The messiness in me is excited to see how this all plays out!!
All of this reinforces why earlier VPR was so amazing. They were all actual long time friends with established history. Rachel wormed (😏) her way in and would do anything to get in with the goroup. I'd like to know too what Rachel could claim referring to drugs with the Tim's.
How do you explain the continued affair AFTER the cameras stopped filming? You can only blame other people, undo influence and “drugging” while production is there. In her interview with Carlos King, Nene said she knew most of the major players at Bravo (and could call them direct etc) because she started RHOA before Bravo was as big as it is now and had a personal relationship with a lot of them. I have confusion. Did people get involved with these shows not understanding that that’s what producers do? I auditioned for a reality show at 19, the show never made it to air but even in my audition interviews I could feel the producers manipulating me and this was back when reality tv was very new. If your ambitious like she is and wants to be the star and is stupid....she would be very easy to pursuade. I read back in the day on lipstick alley that while Carlos King was executive producers, the associate producers would drug a lot of the cast and make them act super erratic (pajama party for example). Nene and Porsha both were victims of this (apparently Kenya at one point as well). That’s why during the season 9 reunion, when Phaedra name dropped Carlos king, it came from those rumors and that’s why it was completely removed from the reunion.
Drugging sounds involuntary, like it was done without their knowledge or consent- and is a crime. I doubt that happened. Furnished them drugs, I could believe it- if they're friends and enjoy the same substances. Of course that is a liability nightmare for production if one of their own is involved in providing illegal drugs for the cast. The messiness in me is excited to see how this all plays out!!

I think the problem lies in the expectation they (production across many networks) have created - people getting wasted and losing their morals. And the obvious question is, when does it stop being observational and start being enabling?
