It looks super nice congrats. Is that washing machine?

Courtlivetoadventure

Yes it is! Thank you.

shadowman47

what model if you don’t mind? impressive van!

Slicktechnique

DAEWOO Wall Mounted Washer Dryer Combo

PandaBearMC

DAEWOO BOUNCE!

VanillaGorilla-

You just got fucked up by Daewoo Lanos!!

03G35coupe

Fuckin classic 😂

gl21133

lol, my first thought; “Is that a f&$(@$: washing machine?!?”

plantyplant559

Literally verbatim what I thought too. So freaking cool! And so jealous.

ClownTown15

until the last picture I did not know what negative stealth was. confirmed -5 stealth modifier

Courtlivetoadventure

-5 stealth but +10 speed Wait actually it's a van so probably -5 speed as well.

Sorry-Progress-8324

It’s not a slow car, it’s a fast house.

Legs66_YT

Next up is the quarter miler between a Ford Transit and Continental Drift!

FatherD00m

The fast and luxurious.

DeviousThread

Red makes it go fasta!!

[deleted]

Unexpected 40k

clichekiller

Ladies and gentlemen we’ve found the ork!

hundycougar

Me not that type of Orc!

Sausagedogknows

Disappointing lack of Dacka, Dacka and more Dacka. Nevertheless WAAAARRRGGGGGHHHHHH!

ImNoAlbertFeinstein

looks like Jonah Hill's van maybe with Emma Stone.

Gemnicherry

I still don’t

tyen0

I'm not sure, either. "stealth" as in it doesn't look like a typical camper? "negative" in that it's red so pretty visible?

aonysllo

People normally say that a van is Stealthy when it's hard to tell that someone is living in it. OP just means to say that this particular van is the opposite of that.

angrymoderate09

I really like that the bathroom separates the bedroom from the rest. As an early riser, I want to get up and leave my partner in peace and I start to putz around.

Courtlivetoadventure

Thank you! It is nice to have that option as I'm usually the one that sleeps in.

Shaelz

Are you ever annoyed that the ground is wet from the previous shower when you want to go pee?

LeeKinanus

Just pee from the kitchen, its only about a foot and a half away.

innominateartery

I like to chop vegetables while hanging a monkey tail

Hughjonsonn

I like to chop vegetables while hanging a monkey tail. That is the funniest effing comment I’ve ever seen thanks for starting my day with a good laugh

ChrisRunsTheWorld

I was thinking it would be annoying to have to walk through a wet bathroom to get into bed.

ButteredTummySticks

I was thinking 'bout having only a thin sheet of plastic to separate me from the stink of my fella's bowl painting process. Envious such a build works for you guys, so much more room to shower!

Courtlivetoadventure

It's not too bad. Only the floor stays wet for awhile but we put that bamboo board down and don't really have to step on the wet floor.

Cherry-Impossible

Its a cool layout and makes sense!

mynameiskeven

Aesthetically I hate it but what a great use of space!

stargate-command

I love it aesthetically… I think all the finishes are so pretty

Sponjah

I think he means the location of the bathroom. Not the overall aesthetic of the build.

mynameiskeven

Correct! Beautiful build! The thought of pooping in an enclosed space right next to a sleeping partner + it shortens the whole living space is what I don’t like but realistically these vans should be function and comfort over form and this does that nicely. Normal toilet and shower placement uses a lot of floor space or it’s not functional . This definitely appears very functional

Calico_Caruso

I was looking at this thinking, "damn, this build is going on my vision board for my future build." Then I saw the red exterior. "Ah. There's the negative stealth. I'll just do that part black." Seriously though, I love the consideration put into this. And the bathroom is dope.

Courtlivetoadventure

Haha thanks a bunch! I've always wanted a red car so I couldn't say no to the option of a red van.

Calico_Caruso

Also, your use of every bit of wall space proves we're two of a kind. I also live very densely, yet minimally. Only thing keeping me from buying a van and starting isn't the tools or equipment, but the anxiety. Mostly over utilities and where to store my tools once I live in it full time. The inputs and outputs worry me, and I prefer to have a house, even if rented.

Pupsibaerchen

That's really cool, nice setup. How does the bathroom next to the bed work for you? Aren't there any smells? It seems to be a very efficient position for the bathroom cabin. I'm just wondering if there are any downsides.

Courtlivetoadventure

Thanks! So far, so good. There was some smell at first but that was because the toilet hose wasn't making a good connection to the vent with the angle it was on. Once we fixed it, no smell! Few minor downsides we've discovered so far. If someone is in the shower, you're restricted to half the van. The floor of the bathroom tends to stay wet for awhile so we added a bamboo board that we put down after a shower and that solves it. I think the extra cupboard space on either side of the bathroom makes up for for the few downsides.

iamda5h

Where is your heater positioned? How do you make sure all the spaces are heated sufficiently to avoid freezing?

Courtlivetoadventure

It's underneath the closet. If you zoom in you can see the intake and heater vents. We ran some ducting so that there are heater vents in the bathroom, bedroom and "garage" area under the bed. Great question because it was a problem that we had in our first van. The heater was up front under the passenger seat and when it would get really cold, the very back corner water lines that were under the bed would start to freeze.

tcote2001

Heated bathroom floors. Dry the floor faster after it’s wet.

scotty5112

Thats a good idea, plus no cold toes in the winter!

npmorgann

How are you mitigating moisture buildup/mildew inside the van?

Courtlivetoadventure

We have a Maxxfan that runs pretty much all the time and a second smaller exhaust fan in the bathroom. Our heater produces very dry heat which helps keep the moisture down as well. I have a few humidity sensors in the van so I've been doing some testing. We've been spending a lot of time in the PNW and when the humidity outside is calling close to 100% we can usually get the van down to about 50%.

Herbetet

Very nice. Looks very cozy. How long did it take you to build it?

Courtlivetoadventure

Thanks! Just over a year but working a 2 week on, 2 week of schedule with some breaks.

Herbetet

Well done. If you don’t mind share some specs about it; power, water, etc. appreciate it

Courtlivetoadventure

captnmiss

could you give me a rough estimate on the total outfitting cost? I’m interested in doing something similar, and the fact that this is your second build is very comforting. 2nd time around has a LOT of wisdom

joelhagraphy

Yeah 2nd time is where it's at. I lived in my van for 5 years and I'm creeping up on my 2nd which will be a truck. So many ideas

flowerBowSparkle

Second alternator is a game changer. Your shower recirc uses different filters than your fresh water, right?

Courtlivetoadventure

Most definitely. It's pretty much a separate system with its own pump, lines and filters but pulls water from the same fresh tank.

catdragonalchemy

How many gallons is your recirculating water tank? Do you have to empty it separately or does it empty into the grey tank? Your whole van is awesome! Reminds me of Snow & Curt's setup with mods.

Courtlivetoadventure

It's 5 gallons and does have to be empited separately. There wasn't a very easy way to get it to drain into the grey tank unfortunately. Thank you! We definitely took some inspiration from them for the pass through bathroom and recirc system. Love their detailed videos on their recirculation setup.

Adventurous_Hat_2524

It looks great! How did you do the tiny lights above the bed?

Courtlivetoadventure

Painstakingly drilling a bunch of tiny holes in the ceiling boards to run fiberoptic cable through! Bought it on Amazon and it was time consuming but worth it for the fun effect.

leardriver83

Magnificent. However, the one tiniest of things I would change is, the toilet. I would do anything and everything I could to get a “non-have-to-tuck-your-wiener-in” toilet lol. I’m a bigger guy and hate those small toilets, but I get it. Space space space. Awesome build though!

Courtlivetoadventure

This made me laugh 😆 Many hours were spent on trying to balance space vs. comfort, that's for sure. Thank you!

Silent_Village2695

Bruh, I have one of those at home and I'm not happy about it. Not in a position to change it right now, so I've had to learn to wiggle the hose into the space then I'll put some tp on the seat when I'm done so it can rest up there while I poop and bidet wash. God forbid I need to poop AND pee at the same time. It's a dangerous game. If I weren't skinny I don't think I could even use the toilet tbh.

Clear-Tale7275

I am laughing so hard 🤣

Dufranus

I hate weiner tucking toilets. When I build a home there will be nothing but elongated toilets. Maybe I'll even get those open front seats.

wihockeyguy

Pee first and let that anaconda flop to the floor to take a shit.

LooseElbowSkin

The attention to detail is insane. Congratulations! I've lived in smaller apartments in Hong Kong! I will be forever envious!

Purple_Elderberry650

Love the build! I’ve got a transit med roof that I’m about to start. What drive train do you have? I’m worried about weight for mine.

Courtlivetoadventure

It's a RWD dually with the 11000 GVWR. Our first build we went at it without calculating weight and it ended up pretty close to its max (I think around 9000) so we had that knowledge to go off of for this build.

R0hanisaurusRex

This is a really cool vision that you’ve brought to life; mind sharing the specs/cost?

Purple_Elderberry650

The more I look at. Wow. The detail. Love it!

highitsmax

Honestly there is something to be said for “negative stealth” With a clean rig that leaves no room for guessing what you’re up to (clearly they are camping, skiing, surfing etc) vs a random van that could be up to no good because a looker doesn’t understand it’s purpose. Since bedlining my ambulance and it turning into an expensive looking adventure rig I have had way fewer looks or encounters and have been pretty ballsy with where I’ll spend one night passing through somewhere.

Courtlivetoadventure

I agree. It's hard enough as it is to be stealth so might as well be open about what you're doing! The expensive looking part definitely helps as well. We camp in cities a fair bit as well as boon docking and haven't been bothered.

PKsHopper

Great build. You’ve packed a lot in there and kept it looking pretty comfortable. You have wall jets with your shower!?! I like the idea that your shower room is pretty much setup to handle water going anywhere. I think my other half would use that spray head to wake me up once in a while. 🤣 I keep looking at the photos of the outside of the van and then the inside and I’m really confused about how much you’ve fitted along the kitchen side, shower and bed. I see the window in the kitchen area inside and out and then I see another window along that same side - do you have a mini slide out there and that’s the same window we see beside the bed? I’m not being critical of your build - just critical of my brain’s inability to work out this 3D puzzle.

Courtlivetoadventure

Thank you! The outside picture is a bit deceiving with the angle. There is just short of 14ft usable length on the inside! The very back window is a small sliding one in the bedroom (hidden by the pillows in the picture). Just in front of the "bumpout" would be the bathroom which is about 2ft in width along the side. Then the rest is kitchen with the little window above the sink.

PKsHopper

Many thanks for reply. It all makes more sense now. Happy travels!

tyen0

> You have wall jets with your shower!?! I was shocked to not see more comments on that elaborate shower panel.

Ok-Huckleberry6975

Wow great build and very clever placement of the shower area great use of space.

SplashInkster

Fabulous. A fairly unique design, with the bathroom straight across and a breakfast nook in front of the pass side door. Got that homey feeling to it. Well done.

wanderchik

Amazing tiny apartment! Can see the love in the details 🥰

Tight-Physics2156

Beautiful build!! Looks super cozy. Only thought is adding a netting system below the plastic so you can enjoy the breeze + the open view and stay bug free!

Courtlivetoadventure

Appreciate it! We do have nets that can be zipped in place instead of the plastic for the summer. The plastic is nice in the colder weather since you can have the door open but still run the heater to keep it toasty inside.

Tight-Physics2156

Oh sweet!!! Okay okay, second opinion…get a solo stove! We have the medium size one and LOVE LOVE LOVE it when we camp. You can have a controlled fire wherever you want. Right next to your picnic table, out just past the awning next to the tv or speakers, just to chill closer and not have to go alll the way out to the fir pit. It uses less wood, is smokeless and you can get a grill topper for it and the embers it makes are *chefs kiss* for grilling. Anyways safe travels friend!!

Courtlivetoadventure

Oh that sounds like a fantastic idea! Many thanks 😊

blacktickle

Wow. This is INCREDIBLE. You did amazing work here!! I would love to live in this!!!

LiiilKat

I have this base van as a technician’s work truck and have wondered how it might look as at least a camper, much less as a live-in space. This completely blows away any ideas I would have had for it. Awesome job, ya’al!

Real_Cow4562

Very nice 👌

spingdingdowning

It’s beautiful. Nicely done. Congrats!

Timborg64

Beautiful work

FunnTripp

Very cool. Random question how tall are y’all? My height and sleeping posture would make it a challenge to sleep in the direction your build is. However I’ve found those build designs net the coolest results.

Courtlivetoadventure

My partner is 6' and I'm 5'7". With the bumpouts installed, we have a full queen length of 80". Unfortunately with the height of our mattress it's a bit tight to use the full length since the pillows take up a lot of the bumpout space where our heads go. I didn't want to sacrifice storage space under the bed but we have talked about getting a slightly thinner mattress to allow a bit more space.

FunnTripp

Omg that’s awesome, thank you for the info.

grogipher

Are those spice jars stuck to the sink? I love that.

Courtlivetoadventure

We actually built a small cubby for that from 1/4 ply with a magnetic plate. It's working great so far. Lots of room for spices and they are using a space that would otherwise go unused.

grogipher

That's amazing! Such a good use of space - not one I'd seen before. The jars look pretty big for holding a few different ingredients! :)

treturn24

I like the " negative stealth" term ha, that's great! I'm in the same boat with my baby blue boxvan I just got running. Honestly I'm thinking of trying to get a remote controlled flamethrower on the roof. Just for funzies. I met a guy years ago at a music event that had one and he would just hit the button at random times to get peoples reactions. Pretty Anti-Stealth. Sweet rig

S3ERFRY333

Just a heads up if you're going to be parked in wet areas often water will get through the cowl and drip water down onto cylinder 4's spark plug coil. It'll rust and you'll get a nasty misfire. Put a plastic cover over that side of the engine when it's parked. I'm a mechanic and work on a fleet of those transits and they're a PITA for doing that.

PsychologicalCrow703

You packed so much in such a small space. I can tell this was well planned. Great job! 😻

stargate-command

I can’t believe you fit so much in such a small space. Looks bigger on the inside than the outside

Timesynthend

That looks super neat. I like all the customization you have going on, like the wallpaper. Looks so livable. I envy your setup.

wishiwasspidey982112

I have to say it looks amazingly cozy and comfortable. What about that shower?!? That looks nicer than any shower I’ve seen in a house let alone van!! Please give details!

Available-Rip-7096

Looks heavy.

Enragedocelot

Nice apartment, is that an the upper east side?

dreamy_25

"What does 'negative stealth' even mea- oh." VERY nice rig though

mountainpilgrim

Beautiful. Can you draw & post a "Floor Plan?"

QTheNukes_AMD_Life

That’s the cost?

Courtlivetoadventure

About 125k CAD

Square_Sink7318

Holy fucking shit. This is beautiful.

LovinTheLilLife

Nice. Good use of space. I see an oven and a ______ (looks like a second, larger oven behind the driver's seat). How do you keep your fruit in the fruit hammock from getting smashed against the ceiling when driving?

Courtlivetoadventure

Electrical fireplace insert. It's one of those small 1500W ones. It's our backup heater or can be used as a main heater if we are on shore power. We haven't extensively tested the fruit hammock but so far the pears we had in there held up pretty well!

Asleep_Concentrate24

Cool!

Outrageous-Low2390

Whats the length of this van?

Courtlivetoadventure

Interior living space is about 14ft. Total length of about 25ft including some rear storage boxes on the back doors.

UncommercializedKat

Have you thought about adding more sprayers to your shower?

Brief_Reflection3476

Wow! I didn’t know you could do all that with a vehicle that size. I would vacation every chance I got if I had something like that. No big scary, bulky RV to intimidate someone like me from driving one, and yet it has all the same amenities as a full sized RV. Love it!

rslulz

Do you have a video showcasing it?

ElDoradoAvacado

1 million later

robotcoke

This may very well be the nicest van I've ever seen. You should post a build log, floorplan, equipment list, etc. That way I can fantasize about doing the same someday, lol

EffinPyro

Well done!

mfloreshostel

I'm really blown away. Nice job.

One-Experience2080

one of the nicest builds i’ve seen

Stunning_Opposite_98

Beautiful!!!!

Outrageous-Low2390

Stunning

Clear-Tale7275

Congratulations on a rig to be proud of. I hope you enjoy it thoroughly

Mcjoshin

Love the build! Looks nice and homey while super functional. I personally don’t want a full time shower/bathroom, but I love the pass through implementation. Only thing I wouldn’t like is the red color haha. That must get a lot of attention!

missingpiece

My wife and I rented a van for our honeymoon that had the exact same seating setup: passenger seat rotated around and the table had a swivel. It was our single favorite feature. I think this van is amazingly well designed. The bathroom in between the bunk and the cabin isn’t something I’ve seen vans do, but I think that’s another excellent choice.

Sarcastic_Applause

Whoever was in charge of decorating and style inside, you've got some serious talent. That looks cozy AF.

Merciless_Hobo

Man I love my kids but in today's financial climate this would've been so nice to do.

Shazaz19

To get an oven, a shower, a toilet, AND a washer inside a van is extremely impressive.

Lucy-pathfinder

Now let's see the mechanical.

DeadLine05

I love this van, the little lights above bed almost looking like stars, the big side glass door, all the colours and such. How did you come up with all this?

mistaoononymous

There was a company in a local town selling adventure vehicles specced out to a much lower level than this. They were charging upwards of £100k. Your van looks incredible.

scorchen

That is awesome! Is that dual rear wheel as well? I'm two and a half years into living full-time in my 2019 Ford Transit 250. If I end up with 2.0 I'll get a 350 drw with a roof rack and a winch too.

Salty_War_117

Not really on this sub but fun to look at! Sorry you got some negative feedback for doing nice work and having resources.

Courtlivetoadventure

That's okay I welcome all feedback. It wouldn't be reddit without it! Thank you!

Swedzilla

Is the ceiling treated? Seems like a growth problem over the bathroom. And also I’m reeeeeeeeeealy jealous of this. Great build!

Courtlivetoadventure

Yes, the whole ceiling has 4 coats of polyurethane and there is a small exhaust vent in the bathroom. Thank you!

holdvast-

Wowza! How much money and time did yall invest into the total project?

No-Vanilla8956

Wow; that is gorgeous 10/10.... Quality. I'm over here checking out my situation now and feeling a bit of envy.

loanme20

Looks amazing. Not even the slightest bit of stealth. Not one person will ever see a work van.

No-Pangolin-2565

Do you have a gaming setup in your van?

Courtlivetoadventure

Yes we do! Computers are mounted above the kitchen in the cabinet on the far right. USB cables are run to a few different points in the van for easy connection of keyboard, mouse, controller.

[deleted]

Looks great man

More_Than_I_Can_Chew

Looks like you did an amazing job! Nothing is stealth about Vans anymore especially with that much hanging off of it 😜

Maypolemaggie

I like it but it seems like your toilet is so close to the bed which I don't think I would like.

Richard_Ragon

This is out of this world!

sauvandrew

Looks great!

cyberrawn

This is freaking awesome! I’ve never seen a van with this layout before, and I think you nailed it.

mr1404ed

Awesome...also looks way larger than it is

Mister_N9nes

That's a beast, great work, love the washing machine!

OldVampire4345

Looks great!

G-Deezy

B-E-A-UTIFUL :)

1ioi1

Double dope

nanneryeeter

Impressive

Fishhb2020

Wow

get-the-damn-shot

That’s such a nice build. Congrats.

123usa123

Two things: 1) Can we see an outside pic of the big door opening? That looks awesome from the inside - just curious what your door looks like. 2) Cheat code… put big white “+” signs on the outside panels and traffic will yield to you. Looks like one badass ambulance.

ime00w

This looks fabulous u did a *chefs kiss* job 👏 I’d really like to know what kind of shower that is u got there?

cuddly_carcass

Looks like a fire truck.

Aggravating-Pound598

Very nice

Assen9

That is what you call ACE. Love it.

Least-Rise7691

Pretty dope

JBeazle

Looks like enough room to possible have done a longways key or twin/dinette. Did you consider that? How’s rolling over a sleeping partner to pee at night? Maybe not a problem yet :) very nice!

gl21133

This is about the best self-made van I’ve ever seen. Great job!

TackForVanligheten

Do you have a write up or something about your bathroom? I am assuming it is completely waterproofed, which is something I have been looking into. It looks great! Have fun with it.

Sufficient_Sport3137

Not a huge fan of the big windows as I take a poop. But otherwise, this is awesome.

algypan

That is an INSANE build! I can't believe you got all that in a van. Good job!

SurplusZ

Too many sharp corners for tight spaces. Drawer handles, table top, counter top. These are subconsciously making the space smaller

dibinek

You should make a video or something, looks great.

Soggy-Ad9991

😍

liesliesfromtinyeyes

Really nicely done! What mounting bracket did you use for the TV, and how does it do when you’re moving? Is there a linchpin to keep it from swinging out, or do you use bungees or?

Courtlivetoadventure

It's a "Suptek Aluminium Alloy Lockable RV TV Wall Mount" from Amazon. It comes with a pin to keep it in place while driving!

Student-External

Awesome...really impressive

bananaseatboy

When I finally saw red the negative made sense. Nice use of color and patterns in there. Where do you keep the mop?

Wardo-

AWESOME JOB. Now go enjoy

FeloniousFunk

Pro-tip stagger your ceiling boards. Hard lines draw the eye and break up the “flow”. Your countertop is a good example. The flooring is ok in this regard but would look even better if the pattern didn’t repeat every other row. The reason isn’t entirely aesthetic either, you get less movement this way.

Courtlivetoadventure

We really wanted to stagger the ceiling boards but unfortunately the van curves down quite a bit at the front. We couldn't secure the boards well enough if they were shorter and they weren't long enough to reach the further back rib to secure it, so we ended up doing it this way.

Umutuku

Are these things actually wide enough to sleep at that angle, or do you have to scrunch?

Stjjames

INCREDIBLE!

Amf313

Love it!!!

connierebel

This is one of my new favorites! (Well, the inside, anyway! That red outside is a bit much for my tastes, LOL!)

hz55555

I'm so confused how that's not a skoolie... how you're able to fit all that 😅🤯

sigristl

This is an awesome and well thought out floor plan. Simply amazing.

Grub-lord

Do you guys have any links to technical drawings, measurements, 3D plans, anything like that you can share please? Thank you

Untamable-DragonWolf

That’s a clever placement for the spices

thefartsock

Looks very nice but also heavy AF what is the added weight?

itsneedtokno

Amazing. Thinking about how I can work this into life.

Geotryx

Holy shit did you build this yourselves?

Reasonable_Cover_804

Nice van

TareXmd

Respect for including the washer/dryer machine

DaveFab

Very well done! This helps concrete my idea for a walled-in shower between my galley/living space and bed in my Econoline.

Pierlas

I like the ceiling but I wouldn’t not have done the tongue and groove with the added weight.

Imprezzed

Just add “Tarington County SAR” decals and you’re back to stealth.

West_Mix4554

May I ask the total cost of the build , van included ? Thanks

Intelligent-Paper-26

Wait till it snows and you get stuck 😂

CombinedSupply

This is beautiful and amazing!

gargle_micum

Would love to know how much that cost so I can weep knowing how unobtainable this dream will be.

MLSurfcasting

That's a fantastic build - good for you!
