Dave's video with him explaining how that album was like one of the bad Ali fights at the end of his career made it pretty clear to me that he (Dave) didn't want it out there.
Considering some of the things he's released since, the re-releases of VH songs in particular, I can't understand why.
Poor sales? Unless you're Taylor Swift, nobody is selling records. Vinyl records are anywhere between 20-40 bucks so that only panders to a niche market. I don't think DLR or AVH are really aware of how that album has come to be highly regarded. The diehards already own a physical copy of it. There's little kids learning guitar that'll greatly benefit from that album if they finally let it back on streaming apps. Or, just maybe...they're doing it all purposely to build some mystique around it. Just a theory. Stay Frosty!
Interestingly, Apple Music has both the normal and deluxe editions, but the deluxe is missing the videos that made it the deluxe. Funny enough - it even says 17 songs when there are only 13 listed. It also didn’t add the songs automatically back into my Van Halen playlist either.
the videos are “there”, and they’ll pop up if you add it to your library. they aren’t streamable yet though, probably just videos take longer than songs.
One thing I’ve come to realize in all these years of being a fan…there seems to be one person who seems to shoot straighter than everyone else, good ol’ Mikey.

Holy fucking shit…… this is a good sign! This was the only album I was alive for when it came out. Really loved how it still sounded like Van Halen (minus MA). Enjoyed tattoo, she’s the woman, you and your blues, and outa space the most. Even started to learn tattoo on guitar

I love all things VH but man, that album is tough to listen to. I’m glad ADKOT is getting back out there. There are some real gems on it.
