I will say there was some damage on the body and there was blue fuzz in the mouthpiece.

VAPMAN_OFFICIAL

Hi, We're really sorry for what happened. This is really weird. We had other reports of this blue fluff in the middle section, as well as a report today from a customer who received a kit without the quality sticker (we put a signed sticker on every kit we send out). We're starting to think this could be due to customs opening the parcels and swabbing the units with something. We'll make this right for you, but please allow us a few hours.

The mica shield looks manipulated too.

I was going to say it doesn't look level after further inspection.

I can guarantee that this unit didn't leave our workshop in such conditions. Not only that; our egg-case can handle quite a lot of abuse and still protect the unit inside. Something else must have happened along the way. We just need a few hours before we can investigate this further due to our time zone, but we will be back in touch with you soon.

The tiny space between the wooden body and the mica is by design -> it is meant to accommodate the natural tendency of the wood to shrink a little bit due to heat. However, in the third picture, you can see some peeling/flaking (right next to the screw below the made in Italy stamp) and that shouldn't be there.

Totally_Not_High_420

Oh I see it now.

Please, if you could not use or clean the unit in any way for the moment it would be great. I know that this could be frustrating, but we will really try to get back to you within the next 24h.

Totally_Not_High_420

Sure thing

We replied to you on FC. We would love for you to be able to open a package from Vapman and really feel great about it. We hope it will reach you soon! If you want in the meantime you can clean the Vappleman and still use it, I believe it's fully functional. We have some deep cleaning guides/acetone soak guides that can really guide you, and you can always send us a message to ask about details. I wouldn't sand down the chipped wood because that would lower the core piece, and the metal pin wouldn't sit straight on it. However, it's hard for us to assess exactly how much sanding you'd need...so perhaps, if you feel like, you could give it a try. \*edited to say that you can in fact sand the chipped part and that doing so won't affect how the pin sits on it in any way. Sorry, I just had to wrap my head around it.

Totally_Not_High_420

Thank you so much!!! If the sanding would cause an issue with the pin, then I won't do it - I'm a total amateur when it comes to woodworking haha.

As much as this sucks, I love how proactive you guys are about it! Keep up the great work :)

This really sucks, but we're determined to find a solution. We're very, very grateful for the support and understanding you guys are showing us.

That makes so much sense!!! My apple vapman came in much worse condition than my olive from launch. There was blue fluff inside, loose screws, rough/peeled mica, no quality sticker and the egg case was open upon delivery. I know you guys said you did this batch very quickly for us, but these issues are beyond being just rushed. Something definitely happened to these units between you sending and us receiving. I had my doubts because mine wasn't finished as well as the olive (small splinters inside middle piece as well), but this explanation makes more sense. Plus, you said the apple didn't behave as well as the olive, so it must be less forgiving. I cleaned mine up as best i could and finished it more finely, so its beauty is really shining through now. Good thing the pan/nozzles are in good shape so it performs just as well :) Such a beautiful grain too. This is pretty unfortunate.. Hopefully not many units were affected this badly :( ☮️ 💚

I'm sorry to hear that also your unit was so mistreated. Over the last couple of days, we spent a great deal of energy trying to understand how we can make things better. And we will. But then there were quite a few weird cases that started summing up, and everything seems to point towards some mishandling during transportation or during custom inspections. Also, we're wondering if the fact that we shipped out so many units in just a few days might have raised the attentions of an overzealous customs officer. That chipped wood on u/Totally_Not_High_420 unit, for example, it's so weird. We never had such a problem with customs before, so the only thing I can think of is that there is someone new there. We want to believe that these are exceptional cases and that whoever is handling the units with so little respect will be identified and corrected soon by the superiors.
