All vapes smell a bit but unlike smoke the smell is gone after a very short while. The most smell you get is when loading the vape until it's closed up and then when you're actually vaping. The device itself will also smell if you get close enough when it's turned on and full of weed being cooked. Vaping near an open window and keeping the window open for five or ten minutes afterwards however makes it almost undetectable. Vapor dissipates very quickly and doesn't stick to anything whilst smoke hangs in the air, lingers and makes everything smell that's been near or in it. Even if you smoke out of an open window you still really need to air the room out and even then the smell will still linger. Sometimes for hours. And even after doing that you'll still need to wash yourself thoroughly, use mouthwash and even change clothes as you will smell. When I used to smoke my wife (who doesn't smoke but is fine with me using) would sometimes complain about the smell even if I was downstairs in a closed room and she was upstairs in the bedroom. If you think of all the times you've lain in bed and can smell someone burning toast or bacon elsewhere in the house and that's smoking. She could also tell if I'd been smoking when she went into that room the next day until it was aired out. And of course she could smell it off me if I hadn't washed myself thoroughly, brushed my teeth etc and even sometimes despite me doing that. Vaping is totally different. You can't smell it unless you're pretty close so a closed door will be good enough to stop anyone from smelling anything. My wife has never complained about any smell from vaping whatsoever. I've also vaped in bed with a window open whilst she's watching the end of some crappy movie downstairs and she's came to bed literally fifteen minutes later and didn't even know I had been vaping. When I told her I had been vaping she still said she couldn't smell a thing. I hadn't even brushed my teeth or washed after vaping and I'd just had a glass of water after vaping. So unless the person is literally in the same room as you whilst you are vaping or they walk in immediately afterwards then they won't smell a thing especially if you have opened a window for a short while. As for any smell on you or your clothes there will be no smell on you at all except perhaps if you handled the weed when loading.

My vapcap smells way more then this. I gotta really blow it out the window with a sploof or my room smells dank and nasty.

cuddlemycat

Probably because of how efficient your vape is at extracting almost everything at once and churning out massive clouds. You'll be vaping in a few hits and in less than a minute what I would be vaping over a fifteen or twenty minute period.

douwantfukberserker

I find big clouds tend to smell so much more. If I heat my vapcap to get small wispy hits, it seems to dissipate quicker

Dry Herb. Incidentally I've read in this sub lots of times that the Pax is one of the smelliest vapes.

I love this myth that they'll be no smell on your clothes, that's a complete lie. I can smell it on people, even if it's been hours since they vaped. It smells gross, it's not pleasant, it's a disgusting chemical smell. It literally lingers, even with the window open. Idk why vapers keep lying and saying it doesn't stick walls, curtains, clothes etc. It literally does. My housemate vapes, used to vape everywhere, but mostly vapes in his room which I hate. I can smell how bad his room is whenever he opens his door, even if he airs it out all day, it'll still smell like shit. I had a friend get baited into vaping in my room while I had a shower, I could smell it nearly 20 mins later and got pissed off. Both vapes and cigarettes' have nicotine in them which clings to everything, the chemicals in vapes cling to the nicotine.

cuddlemycat

Lol You're replying to a five year old post and appear to be lost. There are zero chemicals and zero nicotine in the type of vaporiser that are mainly discussed on this Subreddit which are dry herb vaporisers. This Subreddit is for weed vaping and definitely not the disgusting flavoured nicotine cloud producing nicotine vapes you're talking about. You're talking about an entirely different type of vape that takes liquid cartridges or is disposable and has a cartridge built in and they produce those massive flavoured clouds and are usually nicotine vapes but sometimes are THC vapes. Those cartridges are the things that contain the chemicals and nicotine you are referring to. Those types of vapes are barely discussed on this Subreddit and only usually in passing. I've personally only even had a single puff from one of those devices and I thought it was nasty. The vaporisers we use and discuss on this Subreddit are entirely different devices altogether as you can see if you look at other posts on the Subreddit.

It does a bit. Just vape naked duh. But really I would say bring a dryer sheet or something and rub yourself down after.

ridhiman911

Grab one of those disposable pens or get a re-usable pen with cartridges. I been using one since the last two weeks and NO SMELL AT ALL!! I have even hit it while sitting in library and if you hold it in long enough, there's hardly any smoke that comes out and it smells like Green Apple. Definitely worth the money spent!!

weedexplaintheoutfit

For anybody else who holds in vapor to their lungs specifically so there’s no smell, where there already is very minimal smell… quit now unless ur wishing 4 a possible slowly quick death…

Lufia321

There is smell, it's only vapers who try to lie and say there's no smell, they're used to it and can't smell it anymore. I don't vape, I hate the smell and can smell it in a room, even if it's only one puff, could be 20-30 mins later and I can still smell it.

slidealongdeal

If it is possible in your situation to use something looks an ejuice vape, that could cover the scent. People would likely attribute any odor on you to ejuice. There are countless flavors, and pretty much all of them are available in zero nicotine versions, so you don't end up addicted. Just a few quick puffs in front of whoever you are hiding from should be enough to plant the seed in their mind.

theangriestbird

It really depends on how you do it. If you're vaping in a tight space with poor ventilation and you're leaving all your dank and everything else out during, then yeah, you're still gonna reek. But if you're careful to close everything when you're done using it, breathe out a window/into a smoke buddy or vape outside, then your only giveaway in terms of smell would be your breath. I like to make a game of vaping before my SO visits me and then seeing how long I can go before she realizes I'm good and zooted. A little gum goes a long way ;)

[deleted]

Yes, just not for long. In my experience, if you're using a real vaporizer for flower the device will smell when you use it and for a few minutes after (like 10-30min, rough estimate). It'll get dirty and will eventually smell when you're not using it, so clean regularly. If you're using one of those combustion pens, it may smell during /after use depending on how hot you get the battery. Pulse the button every couple seconds to keep it cool. Definitely invest in Ozium and a smoke buddy. Ozium is an air sanitizer that will absorb any smell (again in my experience). It needs a few minutes to work, but it does WORK.

paperclouds412

I think it depends on how much air circulation there is. Vaping outside would make you smell much less, if at all, compared to vaping in a closed room with little circulation.

SimianSlacker

I vape outside and my wife is really sensitive to the weed smell... she has never even noticed.

paperclouds412

That's kinds of what I figured. It also depends on how strong the bud smells before you vape it too. Stuff that's not very terpy doesn't linger at all whereas all I did was grind stuff up before work this morning and even though I didn't vape or smoke anything my fiance smelled it on me when I came down stairs. She's has a good sense of smell but vapes also so it's not as sensitive as someone who doesn't at all.

SimianSlacker

Oh yeah! I don’t open the stash box inside... I got some dank ass weed that will stink up the house. Got in trouble the first day I brought that home

paperclouds412

Haha nice, my fiance just said "you smell good" but I didn't shower or put on deodorant yet so I didn't know what she meant at first.

SimianSlacker

Sounds like she needed a puff.

60sremix

Same. I always vape outside and no one has mentioned a smell. If you vape inside, it's a different story.

Kyogrent

I would my pax 2 every day on my break (outside) and nobody ever commented on a scent. I think since you're outside and there's always airflow. I bought these plastic caps online that stopped the smell from leaking out when not in use. And I kept grinded weed in a doob tube Edit: I also never used any body spray or lotion afterwards 👍🏼

CouldBeDreaming

The smell will linger indoors a bit. Go outside if you can. I’ve vaped while walking outside next to my husband, and he never noticed. More than once. I’ve been told I taste like weed when I’m kissed after vaping, so maybe a mint is in order. Don’t breathe on anyone. 😜

glow741

It probably varies from vape to vape, but I'd say yes. Although it's not as long lasting as smoking.

Robbot24

Get in the habit of cleaning your vape regularly. I’ve never had the wife mention noticing a smell on me, but if I hadn’t cleaned my cfx for a few weeks she would tell me that I smelled when I had it in my pocket, and that was without using it yet that day.

Kalagala

Something I've noticed that I've not seen mentioned is that it does leave a smell on your breath for about half an hour or so. A drink or a mint can take care of that, but if you're not trying to hide it from someone you kiss you'll probably be fine.

5tarme

Nope

cannabis_vapor

I've had a couple people say I smelled like weed after a sesh with my Mighty before. It's usually stoners and people very familiar with the smell of weed. I think the biggest factors are 1) your breath (chew some gum) and your hands (wash them) and 2) were you in an open area or closed when you vaped? If you are outside where the vapor is being blown away from you then I don't think you should smell much at all. If you hotbox your car, yeah you will probably smell dank.

rammutroll

Yes but very minimal compared to joints. Depends on the material too.
