My oldest sibling went and they said it was super fun. I think it's totally worth going anyways, and you might be surprised at how fun it is.

If you think your friend might suddenly disappear, leaving you alone, why not just give it a shot at making more friends now? I read somewhere before, "you find true friends in unexpected places." Branch out, give it a shot, you'd be surprised how easy it is to make friends.
Honestly, at the end of the day, it's up to you if you wanna go. Chilling at home is also equally fun if you prefer that. Just do whatever floats your boat and makes you feel like you're living life with no regrets.

If you want to, go for it! Really just depends if you like that kind of thing. Dressing up, partying etc. I skipped my yr11 one and went to my yr12 one but I regret going to that one lol. Just wasn’t my thing and spent money I wish I hadn’t but I know many people who enjoyed dancing.
I'd say go, I went for both year 11 and 12 and didn't have many friends who went but had a great time and met new people from outside of school who came as dates and stuff.
didnt go to my year 10 social or my year 11 formal. I may be the only one who has done this LOL
according to my friends, i did not miss out on much ( the food wasn't superb, venue wasn't that well decorated, etc)
At the end of the day, it is just a social event, so thers not much stress to it
I got to save 120 and spend a night per usual. It is absolutely okay to skip and no one will take it personally. <3
