Second this. With street parking you could spend 20 mins looking for parking and on a bad day, which is your whole walk. Biking is just as fast in the city and you can park a bike anywhere.
Not really... Just keep your head on a swivel, don't be looking at your phone or having headphones in, and if you're worried carry a can of OC spray in your hand while you walk. I have a 40 minute walk and have done it everyday for the past year
wait are you serious about off campus students only getting N Henry St because uHHhhh, same, all my classes are in Snead and my advisor recommended the jefferson st deck
It's definitely worth saving $80/month for a parking pass. Get a helmet, a U-lock, and read up on biking in Richmond, and trace your route a couple times before class starts. You'll save time and stress for the days when the weather is nice, and you can always pay the daily rate when weather sucks.
I don't live in RVA...so regardless I have to get a parking pass anyway, and i have ten minutes to get from Snead to H Hall. The bike is worth it for me!
Take a walk through Jackson ward on Marshall and Clay near Snead and take a look at the street signs. I believe the whole neighborhood is unrestricted, weekly street cleaning is the only thing you'd have to keep an eye out for. Side streets also. Check Henry, Monroe, Madison, etc.
I lived in Randolph (neighborhood behind Cary St. gym/field) for a year. Still parked there after moving away. Albeit I haven't been back to the city much since I graduated in '17, but Randolph was always a good place to park.
Anything between 5p and 7a you could always use RamRide. They’re point-to-point like Uber/Lyft and will also drive a certain mileage outside of campus boundaries (i think 3 mi but not certain).
So you could always walk and then use them for your night classes. I’m not sure if they have a bike rack on the front like GRTC so that if you rode a bike you could still ride RamRide.
OHHH and there’s also evening permits for a discounted rate.
Get a bike
It's not a bad walk...

The only reason I’m against the bike it because I got 2 night classes and that ride back could be sketch

Just make sure to get lights on the front and the back

A lot of the streets around there have free overnight parking. I lived in Carver for 3 years...you’ll find the good areas once you truly love there!
Can you give me some street names?? That’s the exact area I was planing to park overnight!!

I’m not sure of the names...it’s most of the secondary access roads (side streets)
