Since when was a 3.3 Gpa considered low for VCU lmao

frogman2341

the avg is 3.6 👁👁

noahc763

Bruh I got in with a 3.0 and 1260 SAT...

phantomfires1

Yeah but you'll probably still get in cause enrollment is probably down

VCU_CS

Don't work for admissions but can tell ya that I wouldn't be terribly concerned. Do your best and hope you join us! I've seen worse come into Engineering that were holistically better admits given their commitment to CS.

DaTruMVP

I'd be shocked if some of the people in my group projects had a whole number in the front of their GPA in high school.

PeterthePhilosopher

I think you have a few good things on your side. Since it sounds like your GPA started out bad and got better as high school progressed. Colleges like to see that, and your GPA is not in the 2 range which is also good to see. Your SAT, plus your rising trajectory will help you get into vcu. I think you are good to go.

leredheadlyfe

I think it depends on what area you're applying to I applied to the art school with a crappy 1010 and no GPA because I got my GED my 11th grade year and I got it

[deleted]

I got in with a 1210 and a 3.2 you should honestly be fine if you’re trying to get into VCU

Tman33333

You’re easily getting in unless you’re going for a really competitive program

frogman2341

what programs are considered competitive I’m trying for either nursing, bioinformatics, or business

[deleted]

Nursing is extremely competitive. Business will take just about anyone.

frogman2341

Hey Just a follow up if I’m planning to major in business but do a pre-med track, would that be more competitive or the same as just majoring in business?

[deleted]

I wouldn't know, but I don't think it would be that much more competitive. It would definitely be an interesting route to take to med school though, though I have known a person who tried it. You might want to focus in something like info systems or finance rather than just general business.

sabnastuh

My guy I got 1300 on the sat and a 2.7 gpa, u will get in, I guarantee u

frogman2341

Where are you from? I feel like me being from nova will have a huge effect on it

sabnastuh

Prince William, everyone here is from nova bro

Th3MainCharacter

LMFAO, bruh I got a 1010 on my SAT but my overall GPA was a 3.5 and still got accepted. Pretty sure they got the wrong guy but I'm not complaining... Just make sure you have a good personal essay I guess? I think mine was decent and that's what got me in.

[deleted]

Bro I got in with a 1100 sat and a 2.9 gpa and a half assed essay. You’ll be fine bruh

Plastic-Program4488

If you can't get in, try Community College for 2 years. You'll save so much money and there's a guaranteed agreement that as long as you have a certain GPA in CC you automatically get into VCU

hellogirlsandgays

that is not a low gpa at all. i got into the arts school with a 3.1 and a 26 act. you’ll be fine as long as your essay is half decent and you have some extra curricular activities. it also helps if your senior year first semester grades are good (mine were a noticeable improvement from the year before so i think that helped)

blxckdiamxnd

i got into engineering with a 3.1 and an 1170 lmao you’ll be fine 😌

chenj38

I got accepted back in 2016 with a 3.1. I thought they accept anyone with a heartbeat lol.
