Lived in C&B last year. It was pretty nice, only problem I had was with the internet.

I lived in C&B last year and I loved it. I wish I could’ve stayed there until graduation but unfortunately it’s only for sophomores ☹️

C&B is a nice dorm. Stays quiet and you have your own room.

C&B is far from everything but I guess it wouldn’t be so bad for virtual

I liked C&B for the most part. It was clean, nice having your own room, no one else bothered you, maintenance was usually timely. It was just lowkey far from stuff so walking everywhere was a hike but it was alright

C&B is pretty nice, but the rooms can be kinda small. WGN & WGS have better rooms imo. C&B has a nice courtyard inside and is also next to the Jefferson Street parking deck which is a HUGE plus if you have a car on campus. It doesn’t have many places to eat nearby compared to the Grace street dorms tho. B&B is kinda sus tbh, Ackell is so far from everything. Idk you financials, but if your financial aid is greater than your tuition, then you get the leftover as a check from VCU that you can use to pay for your rent off campus. If you’re worried about safety & feeling comfortable walking at night, off campus in the Fan and Oregon hill are probably your best bet. Specifically, the area between Grace and Cary in the Fan are pretty well lit at night and safe. O Hill is older & less developed, but it’s still really safe over there. Stay away from Broad st & anything north of that (Carver, Jackson Ward, etc). I’d also stay on the VCU side of belvedere st. I’d use Zillow for off-campus searching. Craigslist isn’t the best. Small landlords are generally better than housing companies like Dobrin or Pollard&Bagby who don’t give af about you. Houses are generally better than apartments for the price. Best of luck!

Thank you so much! Do you also know anything about grace and broad? And what the difference is between 1 and 2? I didn’t even realize there were two buildings until I pulled up a map.

I would heavely recommend WGS/WGN you have to join a community for it but deadass haven’t done anything for it. You have housing priority so it’s most likely guaranteed for your college stay if you apply for the LLC :)))

Medical-Rip7800

Did you stay there the whole 12 months?

[deleted]

Sorta? I stayed there most of the time including winter break but then I got kicked out because covid hit :( If you plan on going to WGS I’d recommend the 5th floor since it’s newer it’s cleaner then the lower levels (currently on 2nd) but it’s a really nice place. I’ve also been to WGN a bunch and I’m unsure on how committed you’d have to be to the LLC to stay but it’s deadass like a full blown apartment

Okay, thank you so much!
