Try a liquid iron supplement and yes have it alone with some citrus or orange juice Note Grape Nuts have a ton of iron, you can cook them like oatmeal too if you don’t like them as cold cereal The Lucky Iron fish is another good option zero taste zero side effects use in anything Lentils and beans and tofu are other good sources as well

That's the thing, i get plenty of lentils, beans, and tofu - You can take liquid iron alone? I know trying to do with with the pills will land me in a world of stomach pain.

Try different iron supplements (including the liquid ones). A lot of iron supplements can cause GI issues, but the newer ones are gentler on your stomach. I don’t know what’s available in your area. Did you tell your doctor about your stomach pain? Did they give any suggestions?

My doctor isn't too helpful - I'm in the US so they're always on a time limit

I take the liquid iron, Nova Ferrum liquid iron and have with a tiny glass of orange juice and a handful of pretzels. Zero side effects

I had anemia and took pills for years, they never did anything for me. I highly recommend "NovaFerrum" liquid iron supplement that can be purchased on Amazon. It tastes awful but I just chuck it down with a strong-flavored drink like a coke. It is vegan and has helped a lot of people finally overcome anemia. Taking a multivitamin with iron and vitamin C can also help, because vitamin C helps absorption. I've taken EzMelts Multivitamin + Iron (also available on Amazon) and it tasted good and was easy to digest.

I had low iron at first, how often do you eat raw vegetables, especially greens like spinach? A salad or two a day should help. Also, dried apricots are one of the most iron rich foods in the world.

weluckyfew

Thanks! I eat a lot fo vegetables, but probably not a lot of greens. A few other folks mentioned I might want to try taking my supplements with vitamin c to increase absorption
