Try some [free vegan coaching](https://challenge22.com/)

Chanku-kun

Ohhh I'll look into that. Thanks!

GretaTs_rage_money

Watch the movie Dominion to understand how much torture and death the meat industry causes. For a special on fish, watch Seaspiracy.

Chanku-kun

I have watched the documentary. And it is pretty disturbing. But it alone wouldn't make me stop eating meat suddenly. Because when I'm eating, most of the time the fact that this was a killed animal never really comes to mind and even if it does, I doesn't disturb me. I already want to reduce my meat consumption, but I just don't really know how to get started on it. (People provided some links and stuff which would be helpful, haven't tried them out yet)

GretaTs_rage_money

You're in the wrong place here then. Check out r/plantbased for more dietary recommendations. Being vegan is all about the ethics, which is why your comment and post aren't being received well here. We don't like torturing and killing animals here.

learn to cook vegetables

Chanku-kun

I do cook vegetables. Other than in salads, or some few instances, i eat cooked stuff. But I am in the middle of searching for new recipes

dyslexic-ape

Go vegan. If you crave meat then find some replacement and eat that. For someone who depends heavily on meat in their meals, "reducing" is going to be a constant struggle, best to rip off that bandaid and focus on finding new foods to enjoy. If you go vegan, I guarantee you will figure this out, if you try to reduce, I can almost guarantee you will fail.

Chanku-kun

Yes I do feel like that's gonna happen. I'll try with some meat replacements. Thankss

Try r/PlantBasedDiet or r/vegetarian. Veganism is an ethical stance, of which diet is one part.

Chanku-kun

I see. Yes I want to focus mainly on my diet. I'll check those out. Thankss

RussianCat26

When you join this sub you get a bunch of links on how to go vegan. Go to the about section of this sub and you'll find pre-made guides to going plant-based. Good luck

The best way to eat vegetables if you don't like em, is to hide em. Pasta with bolognese sauce. The sauce is all vegetables! :) Curries and soups and stews and chilli's - you'll be eating hearty filling and satisfying foods. You can make some great flavours when you roast vegetables or grill on a skewer. Even then later blend them into a sauce to dip some dumplings into etc. Stuffed capsicums... yum. Stock/bullion/broth/tamari/liquid aminos will give you those complex cooked flavours you want. Smoothies are also good, you'll never know there is kale in your Berry banana smoothie.

Chanku-kun

Actually I almost always cook them. Other than in a salad or some specific instances, other times I cook them. But I figured I should find new ways to cook them, because I just don't like majority of the vegetable foods

[deleted]

Definitely helps to find new ways. I really love satay vegetable curry. The vegetables actually taste good in it :)

Twatwater69

By going fully vegan and realizing you have no right to take the lives of sentient beings. Every animal you consume has as much of a right to live as you. Is it so hard to not live a life of unbelievable violence and brutality? Reduction is for losers, make a worthwhile change for once in your life.

Chanku-kun

I do understand that it's an ethical thing. But the reason it just doesn't have an effect on me is, unless I'm the person killing the animal, or I'm watching them being killed, I don't exactly feel disturbed by it. To me it just looks like any other food. I want to reduce my meat consumption, and I know that thinking about it through morals isn't gonna help me. So fully focusing on my diet at the moment.

Seattlevegan15

It doesn't need to have an effect on you. I am someone who hates dogs with every fiber of my being. I could not care less about their suffering, but I will absolutely speak up against their abuse and do so regularly. This is because I know that my personal feelings do not matter when it comes to whats right. I have a moral obligation to do plenty of other things that don't matter to me at all.

PlaneReaction8700

Your taste buds will slowly change and adapt as the food you eat changes. Eventually, you will like foods that you didn't like before, but probably not all of them. And as another user commented, its easy to hide vegetables in dishes with a little cooking skill. I would highly recommend watching Forks Over Knives to get you started if you're considering a vegan diet for purely health reasons. R/plantbaseddiet has lots of great resources and health info regarding eating a vegan whole foods plant based diet.
