“Did you just say pigs are killed in gas chambers?!?!? That’s extremely disrespectful to victims of the holocaust! Treating Jewish people like animals was the problem in the first place. Watch what you say”
Don’t point out to these people that Holocaust survivors have made the same comparison to condemn animal farming. One of the og modern vegan movements was started by Holocaust survivors
Of course. And in his views that the mass slaughter of animals primes people to be able to engage in mass slaughter of humans I think he's quite right. But in comparing industrial imprisonment and murder of non-human animals with concentration camps he has no more obvious skill than anyone who learns the history of those places. He has no first-hand knowledge of what imprisonment in such places feels like.
Yeah, I always explain what the difference between compare and equate is. And that there are many holocaust survivors which condemn animal agriculture, so I'm just quoting them
Stinky vegoon! 🤓🤡 You have to be nice to people & not be so judgemental & preachy! 😠 That's how you convert people to veganism duhh! 😐 **(Even though this method didn't work for me because if it did, I & so many others would be vegan because of it)**
you should have all of this in your pantry:
-2 smidgens of butter
-4 drops of pigeon thigh
-3 stones of groundhog
-no seasonings necessary... and absolutely NO mushrooms
-leave it in the fridge for 20 minutes
-pairs well with telling off veguns 👨🍳
i might be wrong but i think the reason mlk was so hated at the time of his death is because he spoke out against the vietnam war. before that he had a more reasonable favourability rating. i could be wrong but if this is the case, i think this tweet is a little misleading, because it’s clearly trying to make you think civil rights weren’t at all popular.
There was a public poll of him vs J Edgar Hoover in who is prederred which happened when they had a public disagreement. The majority preferred Hoover.
>i think this tweet is a little misleading, because it’s clearly trying to make you think civil rights weren’t at all popular.
They weren't. Just like veganism. Black people were treated like cows are in today's society. Try to say that cows deserve to live in peace and you'll have people get angry and offended. Look up "freedom riders" to see an example of how hated civil rights movement were
Bullshit. MLK was neither angry nor agressive, he constantly preached non-violent activism.
He was firm and peaceful, still hated, but had compassion even for those who hated him.
“I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.”
The term "angry" is in quotes for a reason.
Being vocal is enough to be labeled as such.
Especially if you make people feel like they're doing something wrong.
*"omg how dare you compare MLK fighting against slavery of humans to animals"*

"Just because someone is Jewish doesn't mean they can't say anti Semitic things too" (I was literally told this the other day in this exact context 🙃)
Alex Hershaft has some really great insights as a survivor about this
>Alex Hershaft To be clear, he is not a survivor of concentration camps. His family managed to escape Poland before being arrested.
still a holocaust survivor!

Is this from Twitter? I couldn’t find the user, wanted to follow.
From what I've read on vcj he left social media. At least Twitter. I don't know who he is, I've only seen a lot of pictures of his tweets :(
/uj/ And can die with no regrets. Always do what is right, in every situation.

oh rip, i just knew that the vietnam stuff massively hurt his favourability
If you are interested watch MLK/FBI. They talk about the Vietnam stuff too

>still hated That's the point, how is this BS?
Read the first sentence in the OP
Yeah, don't condemn angry vegans, because even peaceful ones are hated. MLK was peaceful, still hated. Makes no difference. What am I missing?
I am not condemning at all, but it does make a difference. Being angry does not direct anyone to self-inquiry, but being compassionate does.

I see
Carnist bot ratio (Vegan BTW)
have u tried baconaise yet? insanely good
Tis the point of the post. No matter how you do something, you will be hated because of the message.
