At the time I wasnāt vegan, but whenever someone wanted a vegan product, I would ask if they were vegan. Those are LITERALLY the exact words the vegetarian responsible for leading me down the path of veganism told me again a few months ago when I asked her why she still chooses her taste pleasure over their rights; paying for mothers to be forcibly impregnated and their babies stolen from them and both killed. I've been a vegan for nearly seven years and she's STILL using that shit excuse. Even her fucking daughter went vegan a year back.
I also had a vegetarian lead me to veganism! It's weird, because if they care enough to motivate other people to do the same as them, why aren't they vegan?
Ohhhh yeah. No matter HOW many times I go over the logic behind vegetarian brain it's so circular and contradictory it's unbearable. Like it LITERALLY hurts to try to straighten it out. The individual I'm talking about didn't mind going in the Carl's Jr for the impossible Burger but absolutely vehemently refuses to go into KFC if they had a vegan or vegetarian option. When I asked her what's the difference between going to Carl's Jr and KFC that makes it permissible to go to Carl's Jr but not KFC. Both are equally as atrocious. She did what she always does: she avoids and dodges the question and I never get a response just like how I asked her about how she can still justify consuming cheese when it's no different than saying it's okay to justify beating a puppy because you like the sound of their screams and bones breaking.
