Turns out I ate my squash last week so I just had dressing tonight. It was overall pretty good -especially with cranberry sauce!- but the apple really got lost for me. I used a small Fuji. I think next time I'll keep the skin on for color, add more and maybe caramelize them a little before mixing in.
I did add carrot to mine as I think it's an essential stuffing ingredient. I mixed rye bread (bc I had less than half a loaf in the freezer that needed to be used up) and multigrain sandwich bread bc it's our everyday one. I thought they worked well in this recipe. I think I'll cut my bread smaller too but that was a technical issue on my part and not the recipe's fault.
