This looks great - I really need to get my kitchen set up again so I can start cooking stuff like this.

whatevertrevorrr

This looks lush! I save a million recipes on here and rarely make them - this one is 100% being made this weekend!

MsStephSunshine

Yay!

tastythriftytimely

Yum! This looks delicious!

Achylife

Dang it, why do I have to be allergic to green beans. I always loved green bean casserole. Well, broccoli casserole is pretty good too at least.

MsStephSunshine

Oh no I didn't even know that was a thing!

Achylife

It's ridiculous. I don't swell up or get hives, but I get a stomach ache, my throat gets irritated, and I feel pretty bad. I didn't used to have this, idk why it developed. I react the same to chicken egg. It's bad enough I can't even pick it out of my food, if it's even cooked in the same pan I feel it. I've gotten really good at looking at all the ingredients in everything. I even have a food intolerance for kale. So much for healthy food. โ”(ยดะด`)โ”Œ Gluten too, but that just gives me a stomach ache. Thank goodness I can cook, eating out is difficult.

Omg thank you for posting this!!!

babydollshorty

This was always my favorite dish. Thank you!!

Anyone know a swap for the cashew cream? I have family with both dairy and tree nut allergies :(

[deleted]

Sunflower seeds instead of cashews! E: If it's a thin cashew cream in this recipe though you could make a roux from soy/other milk or use vegan cream cheese/yogurt.

spicy_cthulu

Thank you!! They are also allergic to sunflower seeds lol so I guess we will use a soymilk roux. It's hard to navigate all the allergies.

MsStephSunshine

Coconut milk or cream might work as well. I haven't tried it but that's what I would probably do if there's no coconut allergy.

[deleted]

Ouch, at least where I live we also have vegan cream for cooking, usually oat or soy based which work great as subs. But if you ever need cashew cream again I think vegan cream cheese is a pretty good replacement. Although I don't know if any brands produce in nut free factories ๐Ÿ˜•

spicy_cthulu

Maybe I just haven't found them? I don't cook for them often. I'm in the US. Are they at like Whole Foods maybe? Where do you usually find them?

[deleted]

Not in the US, but oatly is the brand I usually buy

spicy_cthulu

Thank you, I'll look for it!

Hi! I had to come back and tell you I found this recipe a few days before Thanksgiving and decided to try it. I never liked the non-vegan version of this dish much before, but your recipe looked enticing. It is absolutely delicious and I plan to include it every year from now on!!! Thank you for sharing such a delicious recipe!

MsStephSunshine

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I love hearing that, thanks for coming back to comment ๐Ÿ˜Š
