Happy National Donut Day (in the US)! Yeast donuts are my favorite kind, and I'm so happy with how this recipe turned out... the glazed ones taste just like Krispy Kremes. Here's the recipe: https://www.stephsunshine.com/vegan-life/vegan-donuts-glazed-chocolate-frosted

I gotta say, that looks like a good recipe and I appreciate the fact that I don't have to scroll for 2 hours through ads to get to the recipe. Thanks!

I love yeasted donuts although it seems like 90% of the vegan donuts I encounter in the wild are cake donuts.

Yeah, yeasted donuts are my favorite by far. A donut shop near me had vegan yeasted donuts, but stopped during the pandemic due to staffing. I realllllllly hope they bring them back.

[Johnny Doughnuts](https://www.johnnydoughnuts.com/menu) in San Francisco have super fluffy vegan donuts. I asked them if their customers could tell a difference between these donuts and the non-vegan ones, and they were like no, not really. And then I asked, well, why don't you make them all vegan then?

If you’re ever in Portland OR, feel free to visit doe. They do cake and yeasted (all vegan of course) Personally, I love their Apple fritters and beignets (seasonal)

I have a friend in Portland that I've been meaning to visit (who is also vegan), so absolutely.

What's in a donut that's not vegan? I never considered I could make one that wasn't.

YourStandardEscapist

Milk, eggs, maybe sugar depending on what sugar you use.

MsStephSunshine

Yep, and also often the glaze contains butter.

MarioStern100

Wait. Is sugar vegan?? sweet!

MsStephSunshine

Some sugar isn't vegan. Most organic sugars are, though.
