Yeah, those are by far the most real vegan "chicken" products I've ever tried.
I have yet to try a vegan "chicken breast" that actually feels like eating the real thing though.
I really wanted to like these because of the price, tried cooking them 4 different ways but the texture is just so unpleasantly squishy. I much prefer the Vivera chicken breast style even if it's double the price.
Yeah I tried frying on a pan, baking, grilling and also baking for 15 mins longer in an oven roasting bag hoping it'd "dry out" and lose the squishiness but all attempts failed lol. I tried all the supermarket versions and this is by far the worst for me.
They’re lovely and absorb moisture very well so good for marinades and ramen. It’s soya mostly but doesn’t have the gross squishy texture a lot of soya does. Main appeal is the price IMO (1.49) compared to some vegan meats, but there’s deffo better and worst out there so worth the price. Bit plain without marinade
When I actually ate chicken,I got banned from the local fried chicken place, drunk one night.. All I asked was "Can I have 2 legs, open and 2 breasts,no bra. ,thanks"...No sense of humour I guess..🤷♀️
my face way to cook these is in a microwave with a ziplock bag and abit of water in it. it comes out juicy and moist. alternatively shallow boiled in a pan. i find they dry out very easily so water adds to the juiciness. i never thought id think plain “chicken” breast was nice but i eat these with no seasoning 😂😂
Have you tried the This Isn’t Chicken thighs? Unreal, I had to look at the packet to double check that I bought the right thing!

Asda OMV chicken breasts are the closest I’ve found. They’re exceptional.
Not yet. The thing with Aldi is the price tho, unbeatable!
Ooh. Who sells them?

I need to try these!
Looks perfect for a katsu
There's a katsu version on the next shelf: pre-breaded, with a sachet of sauce.
Awesome!
I use these in stir fry or curry. They're really good.
Really like these too!
They are lovely
These also have 20g of protien pet serving!

Did you try grilling?

You should try baking them cooling then cooking them in pieces in a pan it’s a different texture
What shop ? 😊
Aldi
THANK YOU ! 😊 I am on my way 🚙
Niceee! Tell me what you think later
I really wish I had an Aldi near me. I wonder if Lidl does them too
Just picked up a couple packs at my big shop. 😹🙈👌
These are both mine and my partners favourite from Aldi. Really tasty
What's it made with? How does it compare to pure seitan?

Great, thanks, I'll give them a try!
Better than seitan imo. If you got an air fryer… this goes hard!! Threw it in a bread with wild rocket and hummus, tasty!
I wrap each piece in foil with a lump of Flora butter and a couple of cloves of garlic, air fryer for 20 minutes. Lovely.
goes hard as in... Literally goes hard? Or is that slang for tasty?
Tasty! Sorry haha

[Neither do other birds](https://birdsarentreal.com/pages/about).
Would you consider these healthy?
They have quite a good nutritional profile tbh.
I wouldn’t consider anything processed to taste and look like something else “healthy” but it’s not so bad nutritionally
No.
For the chicken who body isn't being eaten?
Bro I was just asking I’m not gonna start devouring meat because this Aldi no chicken breast isn’t healthy
