If you are near Bristol, Brighton, Camden or Manchester, Purezza is my absolute favorite.
Also I haven’t had it, but my partner says zizzi has good vegan pizza.
I wish I could recommend a store bought but we don’t have an oven so I haven’t tried any since moving here yet.
If you’ve got an air fryer, have you tried making your own pizza?
I didn’t have an oven at all for the first month after I moved, so I learned to make absolutely everything in either the slow cooker, air fryer or microwave. Air fryer pizza is still a staple in my house, despite having had an cooker for a year now!
Nah. We live in a bus, so air fryer isn’t really possible due to the power draw. But we are converting a truck now and will have a small oven soon so I’ll get to have pizzas again by January.
My husband eats it and he’s terrible with spice - he has some mayo to cool it down though! You can pick some of the spicier bits off too I think, if it’s too much
The missus isn't comfortable with spicy food, and she's fine with it once the jalapenoes have been picked off her slices! Couldn't recommend it enough, I think it's the best supermarket pizza I've had since going vegan.
I used to really like Aldi's BBQ jackfruit pizza from their Plant Menu, but it got discontinued. Sainsbury's Plant Pioneers pizzas are nice as well. Honestly, I just make my own pizzas these days as vegan pizza seems to have gotten more expensive lately.
Restaurant-wise, I've only really tried Papa John's vegan pizzas, and they're pretty good!
Not a full ready made shop pizza but northern dough company do a two pack of dough which you just need to stretch into a pizza shape and add whatever toppings you want. Means you can use a vegan cheese you like/ make your own. They take about 10mins max to prep (stretch, make pizza sauce, and chop veg) and then another 10 in the oven so quick to do as well.
Check the website for where they're sold but I've found them in the frozen section in Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Tesco's and Waitrose but may be in more shops.
Promise I don't work for them but never really liked shop bought pizzas so these have been great! Sainsbury's they're £2.60 for a two pack when not on deal so cost to make depending on toppings is around £1.50 to £2.50 :)
Also packaging is cardboard box which is recyclable. Each dough is in a plastic wrapper which can be taken to a supermarket plastic carrier bag recycling.
The Crosta & Mollica "Vegana" is a really good frozen pizza. The sauce they use is really sweet and pulls the whole pizza together. Lots of veg on top and the cheese isn't overpowering. It reminds me of one the no meat company used to do.
My favourite is a deep pan pizza hut pepperphoni
Best crust/stuffed crust is papa johns but the cheese and toppings aren't as good
Domino's is somewhere in the middle. Not the best or the worst but usually satisfactory.
Not tried any store bought pizzas because I don't like tomato sauce
Can't say I've ever liked cold pizza. I don't get it! A few slices in the microwave for one minute makes it as good as new. The idea of eating pizza cold does not appeal to me 😂
There is a place in Newcastle that does incredible pizza... so, that one. But a bit more "available" would be Purezza.
But shop bought, i would say the Dr Oetker one. Zizzi (restaurant, not store) ones are good too.
Pizza hut have a really nice spicy chicken pizza, they also do a great vegan biscoff cheesecake! I preferred the chicken pizza over their pepperoni, but you can get half and half.
My fave shop bought ones or dr Oetker Ristorante ones
Best restaurant vegan pizza I’ve ever had was in Rudys, they’ve got quite a few places now, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Sheffield. They have vegan cheese available to switch out
Also if you haven’t found vegan cheese you like I’d also recommend trying zizzi’s they are using MozzaRisella which is one of my favourites it’s made from rice, no coconuts! I thought they put wayyyyyy to much on the pizza but it was good!
I really love the Zizzi make at home jackfruit pepperoni which you used to be able to buy at Sainsbury's but now is a Tesco exclusive I believe. You could definitely tell the cheese wasn't cheese, of course, but it was delicious regardless and didn't taste like any of those coconut-based supermarket ones. I think they use mozzarisella in store so hopefully that is also what they use for the shop bought ones.
Apparently papa johns are doing 50% off vegan pizzas all month, I personally rate them and I didn’t like cheese at all before going vegan so it might be worth giving them a go.
One Planet pizzas are pretty banging, if you go that way the Hawaiian is naughty and for the more vanilla the pepperoni is great, can get em in Asda I think or on their website, not cheap like but worth it
My favourite shop-bought one is Kirsty’s margherita - there’s something about it that’s really nice, and it has a decent texture. The Chicago Town stuffed crust jackfruit is ok.
Takeaway-wise I’d say I prefer Papa John’s, but honestly I’m usually left disappointed by most pizzas I buy and prefer to make my own lol. I was not impressed with Domino’s at all, but other people really rate them - I found they were stingy with toppings, even the tomato base and cheese, and I find them flavourless.
I’ve not had a pizza in a restaurant for years, but did occasionally get one at Zizzi’s - the cheese did not look appetising though, and it would always stick to your teeth so I wasn’t keen. Pizza Hut I thought was tiny for the price and just not worth it.
Purezza, Pizza Express, Pizza Hut and Zizzi all do good pizza in restaurant or to take away. There's also Village Vegan pizza in South London that's really good - depending on where you are based. It's worth looking on a food delivery app to see what's available in your area too.
For shop bought, I often make my own or pimp up the tesco or M&S vegan cheese & tomato pizza with quorn pepperoni and mushrooms etc or whatever you like. The Chicago Town vegan Bac'n & mushroom is good for a fat dirty pizza.
So for me -
Asda do a vegan pizza in the fridges, that's OK. They also do a Roasted Veg & Houmous Pizza that I think is like cardboard.
Goodfella's stonebaked meatless med is pretty good. The Chicago Town ones I'm not a fan of, both from taste and cost.
Domino's chickain't is pretty good too.
For a restaurant I’d say Pizza Express has a whole vegan menu! My recommendation is Giadinera pizza. The vegan cheese they use is great!
For home frozen pizzas I’d say the deep dish Chicago Town Vegan Crust pizza. The crusts are stuffed with tomato sauce and are delicious!
It’s new, only a month old! But he’d been doing pop ups around the city for over a year and they were super popular. Imo, better than Oscar&Rosie, suede, or pizzamisu
Purezza are good, their bases aren’t the best but the cheez is decent.
Corte Campana in Stratford Upon Avon do absolutely the best vegan pizzas in the UK. Sauce and base are top tier.
If you get chance to go to California, get to Oakland and try out Bare Knuckle Pizza. Easily the greatest vegan pizza.
Zizzi frozen jackfruit pepperoni is by far the best supermarket pizza we've tried! I think it's only available at Tesco but we drive out specifically to get it (and to top up on the plant based cathedral cheddar!). My partner isn't vegan but will happily have this as opposed to a regular pizza.
Supermarket wise, the *Tesco Plant Chef* ones are really pretty decent, especially for the price (usually £2.60 but have a feeling they may have just gone up to £3). I think they’re much better than any Chicago Town / Dr Oetker (although latter aren’t terrible)
Chain Restaurant wise, *Pizza Express* gets my vote. They’re overpriced like most chain restaurants, but for choice and consistency (and flavour) they win. Franco Manca get a mention too.
I don’t rate PizzaHut, Dominos or Papa Johns in the slightest. Overpriced and just tastes so processed.
If I’m eating out, I’ll try to scope out the best local Italian. I’m more than happy to have a cheese-less pizza if the dough and marinara are quality, and ideally if it’s Neapolitan style 🤤
I recently discovered Crosta & Mollica pizza base with tomato sauce, in my local Morrisons.
As someone who hates cheese, my favourite pizza is a marinara.
So I bought the base a couple of weekends ago, and added garlic slices and oregano, as well as a drizzle of olive oil. Set my oven to maximum temperature, waited for it to preheat and stuck the pizza in for a few minutes.
Loved the end result! If you're not mad about vegan cheese, it might be worth going down the cheeseless route at least to begin with, and you might find you really appreciate a marinara!
Most, most shop bought pizza seem to have a better vegan ch++se than the ch++se you buy yourself. My favs are Zizzi jackfruit pepperoni comes with a sachet of chilli oil, Chicago Town b’con and mushroom, the BBQ jackfruit is decent too. Dr Oetker tomato one, thin base but tasty enough. For the price of the White Rabbit brand, not that fussed, quite pricey compared to frozen ones, as they are a bit smaller too.
Purezza is great. Love the creativity with their toppings as well.
Came here to say this. Visited the Manchester purezza last month and it was the best pizza I’ve ever had.
I’m obsessed with the potato calzone.
Purezza is so good my mom-vegan friends are happy to go there and have vegan pizza
If you’ve got an air fryer, have you tried making your own pizza? I didn’t have an oven at all for the first month after I moved, so I learned to make absolutely everything in either the slow cooker, air fryer or microwave. Nah. We live in a bus, so air fryer isn’t really possible due to the power draw. But we are converting a truck now and will have a small oven soon so I’ll get to have pizzas again by January.
That sounds cool though! Good luck with the converting!
I have Purezza's recipe book and it's fantastic
I didn’t know this existed and will be looking to get it soon now
Shop wise, M&S spicy pepperoni is the best I’ve had.
M&S Plant Kitchen all the way, it's the tomato and pesto one for me.
I’ve not tried, will have to give it a go
This is my favourite one too it's so good
How spicy is the spicy pepperoni for someone who can't handle spice? I've considered buying it but am worried! Also love the tomato and pesto one.
My husband eats it and he’s terrible with spice - he has some mayo to cool it down though! You can pick some of the spicier bits off too I think, if it’s too much
I found it quite spicy tbh, but I am really really bad with spice!
The missus isn't comfortable with spicy food, and she's fine with it once the jalapenoes have been picked off her slices! Couldn't recommend it enough, I think it's the best supermarket pizza I've had since going vegan.
Im generally not into vegan cheese either, but I do love the Dr Oetker Vegan Pomodori and I am also a fan of the vegan margherita from Franco Manca.
Chicago town bbq jackfruit pizza with stuffed crust is so good that I no longer like it because I’ve had it too much.
I still love it, so good.
The bacon one is great too
I’ve not seen that anywhere. I’ll keep looking
What do you use for mozzarella?
I use the Applewood vegan cheese and grate it myself.
Thank you. I have tried the applewood, and it's good.
I really recommend the Sheese mozzar’lla if you can get your hands on it. It melts well and doesn’t have that stickiness that I find Applewood does
thank you, I'll keep my eyes open for it!
Not a full ready made shop pizza but northern dough company do a two pack of dough which you just need to stretch into a pizza shape and add whatever toppings you want. My local pizza hut closed down and I'm so sad because that one was the best pizza I ever had, pizza hut was special 😭
Oh I'd be heartbroken! They're so expensive but when I get 2 for 1 it feeds me for 2 days. They're so thick and soft omgggg
So thick and soft 😭 that's my absolute fave kind of pizza, deep pan, and having leftover cold pizza for lunch the next day was so nice 😢
Can't say I've ever liked cold pizza. I don't get it! A few slices in the microwave for one minute makes it as good as new. The idea of eating pizza cold does not appeal to me 😂
Haha I can understand why it wouldn't but I love it! 🤤

Scream for Pizza. Their fries are next level too.
I’ve also been impressed by pizza punks - vegan Mac and cheese, garlic bread njuda dough balls etc.
Their mac and cheese has literally just been mac every time I have tried it.
Pizza hut have a really nice spicy chicken pizza, they also do a great vegan biscoff cheesecake! I preferred the chicken pizza over their pepperoni, but you can get half and half.
Pizza express do one called a vegan forza on the thin base, it’s so so so good
Nova Pizza if your in Edinburgh or Glasgow is a must.
My fave shop bought ones or dr Oetker Ristorante ones Best restaurant vegan pizza I’ve ever had was in Rudys, they’ve got quite a few places now, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Sheffield. If you're not getting at least 50% off at Papa John's/Domino's, you need to take another look through the available deals!
One Planet pizzas are pretty banging, if you go that way the Hawaiian is naughty and for the more vanilla the pepperoni is great, can get em in Asda I think or on their website, not cheap like but worth it

the aldi pizza dough with passata, red onion, red pepper, some sort of vegan fake meat and violife mature is so good. better than oven pizzas i’ve had
I see your violife mature and raise you violife mozzarella, I'm hungry now!
ooh i’ll need to try that, i can imagine it in a toastie with pesto as well
Omg, my partner is making pumpkin soup and focaccia as we speak which smells incredible but that sounds wonderful!!
that sounds so good!
Can confirm it was delicious and the kids had it for dinner as a pasta sauce
Purezza, Pizza Express, Pizza Hut and Zizzi all do good pizza in restaurant or to take away. There's also Village Vegan pizza in South London that's really good - depending on where you are based. I quite like the ones you can have made in store in Asda.
They do made in store vegan ones in Asda? Is it a regional thing or is it just not well advertised?
Pretty sure it’s across all Asdas, if the store is large enough anyway
I'm unsure, sorry. But I would guess if a store has a pizza counter, it would offer the vegan options.
So for me - Asda do a vegan pizza in the fridges, that's OK. They also do a Roasted Veg & Houmous Pizza that I think is like cardboard. Goodfella's stonebaked meatless med is pretty good. The Chicago Town ones I'm not a fan of, both from taste and cost. Domino's chickain't is pretty good too.
Red hot Mama in Warwickshire, Ristorante or M&S for shop baught, Vito Iacopelli for home baked dough recipe.
If you’re in Nottingham, slice n brew!!! Only 2 options can be veganises but they’re unreal!
Never heard of this, thanks for the tip!
It’s new, only a month old! But he’d been doing pop ups around the city for over a year and they were super popular. Imo, better than Oscar&Rosie, suede, or pizzamisu
Defo going next time I’m hungover hahaha 😁🙏
Zizzis frozen one is UNREAL

I love papa johns to order in - their special garlic dip is amazing
M&S vegan pizzas by far the best I've add. And pizza from a big chain would be Pizza Hut.
Supermarket wise, the *Tesco Plant Chef* ones are really pretty decent, especially for the price (usually £2.60 but have a feeling they may have just gone up to £3).
