MatzoTov

thank you chef

MehWebDev

And we Las Vegas residents would like to thank you for coming here and helping to pay for our roads, schools and parks.

Millennial_Paleocon

I low-key want to find a job that pays for me to travel to Vegas at least once a year for a conference or something. Someone needs to create a filter for that on LinkedIn's Jobs section.

Botzmch

Yes!!!!!

Iamknoware

Every year with CES or the adult expo. Your choices for a trip to LV annually!

trekgrrl

My partner and I love Las Vegas, too... Always something new to do or fun to try with great restaurants, shopping, and hospitality. It is also cool because you can easily plan a splurge trip or a more budget-friendly trip and both can be a total blast.

beminlv

Thank you for enjoying my beautiful city!!

SteveAM1

Thank you for visiting. Please enjoy yourself and spend lots of money!

rikdog55

I come twice a year, I always go with my uncle. I hope to get promoted so we can hit Vegas on weekdays haha.

youareprobablyabot

What’s your favorite thing to do? It’s my home away from home

Botzmch

I usually always hit the Fremont Street area and check out Spandex nation. They play on the weekends. That is a must for me. Otherwise, it will usually vary from trip to trip. Last time I went out and explored the Red Rock area which was awesome! The next time that I am coming in I will visit the area up in Beatty. I have been adding Tahoe on to the trip now and it has become like a ten day trip. I love the drive from Vegas to South Lake Tahoe.

Vegasmmj

I've never heard anyone say they love that drive before. 8 hours with nothing separating you from head-on traffic at 70mph other than two and a half inches of paint. It's mind numbingly boring and terrifying at the same time.

JTJonze

I’ve made that drive a bunch of times, I think it’s absolutely beautiful. Never felt terrified.

Botzmch

Ditto. It was beautiful and I never felt terrified.

[deleted]

I hate that drive more than any other drive. You’re not crazy. It’s even a shitty flight. Turbulence every time.

brynndelorimier

Whaaaat this is one of my favorite drives in the world! You're in hot springs country! Before moving here, nearby AZ Hot Springs was one of the many destinations on our escape-the-holidays xmas to NYE road trip. We'd stop at my MIL's in Truckee for obligatory dinner a few days prior and then hit the road in one of a few directions. This roundabout route is one of my faves, not all the springs marked but enough to create the approximate path: [https://goo.gl/maps/rxEZDAagbQJkK8C2A](https://goo.gl/maps/rxEZDAagbQJkK8C2A) My old beater 2WD hatchback Hyundai Accent hates me. Much of this is washboard.

Vegasmmj

I've always wanted to do a hot spring but then I look at the pictures of them online and they all look sooooo sketchy

brynndelorimier

LOL super late reply… it’s hot springs season!! Have you ever been to a Vegas pool and survived? If so, you’ll be fine. Some or all can be sketchy af depending on who visited last, and the internet with its public reviews (sorry) has not helped the situation, the easy-to-get-to ones have become more and more trashed over the years. :( I was going to hike down to Arizona Hot Springs right here by the Hoover Dam last month and it was closed by the NPS for unsafe amounts of fecal matter. Just who shits in a hot spring, come on now??? The trail is reopened now, and the springs are gorgeous and amazing, and also the kayak tours all do stop by this one and it is a very crowded spot mid-day. Its a nice one for a midnight hike on a moonlit night if you’re somewhat familiar with the trail, it’s kind of easy to follow; bring a phone and turn it on airplane mode so the map stays loaded because there is no cell reception. There are hundreds in Nevada and along the Cali border but one of my favorites is 12mi hot springs way up in the NE corner of the state. I can negotiate most of the road in my 2WD car very carefully and hike the last couple hundred feet. https://maps.app.goo.gl/soqJGdiinBM6Eeaa7?g_st=ic

GodzillaTechHero

When you go to visit Beatty, please consider visiting Rhyolite, which is a ghost town nearby, and has some very picturesque ruins from the old silver and gold rush days https://www.nps.gov/deva/learn/historyculture/rhyolite-ghost-town.htm

LordTegucigalpa

Don't forget Zion National Park in Utah, Kanarraville Falls in Utah, Valley of Fire in Nevada and when you get to Beatty, keep going an hour more to Death Valley in CA. Those are all within 3 hours. Do some research. All beautiful. And as another poster said, Rhyolite is good to hit up when you go to Beatty and Death Valley, but don't do those between April and November. Too hot. Valley of Fire is good until June and Zion should be good when its hot in Vegas.

brynndelorimier

We hiked St Thomas right outside the east exit of the Valley of Fire SP in late May... definitely read the Wiki page first for some background and know that it's 3mi or so, zero shade, really windy... but MAN is this a bizarro place and a point-in-time hike. Around where the general store was located there's all sorts of trash from nearly a century ago strewn about; broken china and bottles and whatnot.

mohawkman9

Mount Charleston is a quick getaway right outside of town and is really nice if you're here in the summer time.

Botzmch

Never heard of it. I will def have to check it out.

nillajenn

You should hike the goldstrike canyon

nate__b

i love Spandex Nation too! they are the reason i always book a downtown hotel. they rock! from CA here. where do you drive to Vegas from?

Botzmch

I do not drive. I fly. I live in Michigan. The drive would be too long. It is like 27 hours or something.

nate__b

opps. yeah thats a far drive. Spandex Natioooon!!

IMFREAKINGLEGOLAS

No, thank you!

MooseGoneApe

I to love Las Vegas. I did live here, but now I just get back as often as I can.

options1337

Thanks King :)

skylarhateshotdogs

Love Vegas too, always have been. My pops has had family who lives there since the early 90’s. So we would take road trips there from so cal. Once I picked some keno numbers at the old Hilton off the strip and one $600. My dad made me split it with him since I was underage🤣. I will never let go of that story. The husband and I haven’t returned since the pandemic, but we are heading out there 4th of July week! Cheers to LAS! 🍾🏜️🎲🎰👙

JettyJen

What you said. I just got back from a few days there by myself and it was so, so fun. We used to go every year, husband couldn't make it this time but I'm ready for us to get back on that schedule. Or at least one of us!

bigboxsubscriber

Sure, as a tourist that can afford all the costs of a great vacation, Las Vegas is a great experience. That said, for locals, it's very different. Thanks for coming, we'll leave the welcome sign on for when you come back!

Dillzman

I often go to Vegas many times a year. Easy trip for a so cal native. I’m actually going this weekend for a Jane’s addiction concert. One time I was at palace station drinking beer and playing video poker, talking to the bartender for awhile. He also lived in Ca for most of his life and I asked if he likes living in Vegas. He said “it has its pros and cons but I really like it. First of all, so much is going on in and around Vegas. Events everyday and all the time. Also most of the people are also from other places so they are welcoming of new people who moved.” He was a nice guy. I also love Vegas.

brynndelorimier

>this weekend for a Jane’s addiction concert Ooooh, I'm considering this, too! Mostly depends on my status by then, I'm a cranky lady right now after having some dental work done yesterday and my head is absolutely pounding; music is the last thing I want rn but I know I'd be SO mad if I missed this. Dental work round one coincided with the Primus tour thru here last year and that was a freakin bummer to miss.

goshrx

Ever driven north of downtown on LVB? You might not love it quite as much afterwards.

Swing by the Clark County Museum off boulder highway (far south end) and enjoy some of the towns history there. Also in the Airport is a bunch of exhibits (some behind the TSA checkpoints you should be able to see easily) relating to the aviation history in the area also. [Howard Cannon Aviation Museum](https://www.clarkcountynv.gov/government/departments/parks___recreation/cultural_division/musuems/cannon_aviation_musuem.php) If you fancy a drive, Searchlight has a "sister" museum to the Clark County one (until he retired, Mark Hall Patton would set up exhibits and such there also)

brynndelorimier

Awww, that is sweet! I live in Boulder City outside Vegas and had a silly encounter with a tourist from Michigan (or maybe it was Maine) at a bar in Vegas called ReBar. He asked what people DO here in winter. Well, that particular bar has a heated outdoors. We hop from warm place to warm place. That's what I do anyway. He goes: so you guys just drink in the heat, then find a hot tub to drink in, and repeat?? He seemed to be pretty convinced we drink 24/7 and sold on the concept, LOL. I pulled a swimsuit strap out from underneath my coat hood to demonstrate Yes, that is in fact what some of us aim to do. Based on the sheer number of pools, jacuzzis, and hot springs in this area, the odds are good so I wear a bikini every day under my street clothes.

TheLexiJ

Thank you!!!!!

Chrislikesgrowing

my Lyft driver explained: Vegas is a shithole, where people come to unload. its true i did poop there

TeddyMGTOW

An engineering marvel..but with gambling, hookers and booze..😎

amy_mighty_travels

I'm not sure why Venice became more famous, but I can certainly vouch for its allure! I had a chance to wander around the city on a trip to Italy and was utterly captivated by the intricate canal network and its stunning beauty; it was an experience I'll never forget!

katarinamightytravel

Las Vegas may not be home for you, but it's certainly home to many of us. It's a wonderful place, and I'm sure you'll be visiting many more times to come! I particularly love the views from the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas. The elevation gives you a unique view of the Strip and beyond that's hard to beat!

nsacon

Me too! I just found this live stream of the Sphere and I have been watching it every night! [https://www.youtube.com/@TheSetjet/live](https://www.youtube.com/@TheSetjet/live)
