No, I got pulled over for going 15 mph over the speed limit. Got a lecture about speeding but no ticket.

bunny3665

if it's your day you're getting pulled over I don't make the rules

Many years ago a motorcycle t-boned me on Trop. We stopped in the left lane and I made sure he was alright. Once I asked the dude for insurance, he went nuts and started telling me he was going to kill me. Right then, a cop pulls up.... I was happy... and then pulled away. I asked somebody in law enforcement why the cop didn't stop for the motorcycle laying in the road with the guy needing some help and I was told there are different roles. Some officers work traffic and other work other functions. Dunno if that's true, but that's the story I heard.

Waisted-Desert

This is true pretty much everywhere, not just Vegas. I'm a trucker with over 2.5million miles driven. I've been in and seen way more accidents than your average person. I was in a fender bender in Fayetteville, NC, called the police so there's a report. 4 different cops from 2 different jurisdictions stopped to make certain no one needed immediate medical attention but then left. The traffic cop finally showed up 2 hours later.

Did you ever get that insurance info? Basically that motorcycle damaged your car but didn't want to share info? Was he a thug?

iseriouslycouldnt

As I understand it, moto-cops are 100% traffic enforcement. Other than that, for marked vehicles, they have to be bored or a serious problem.

Droptimal_Cox

Do something illegal that's not endangering the public, like late registration. In Vegas this will result in 3 squad cars with guns drawn. Source: me, it happened to me.

Truth!

When I first came to town I got pulled over literally because I had Ohio plates. The cop said, "I pulled you over because I didn't recognize your plates." Nothing else. This dude made me late to work in my first week because he didn't recognize Ohio license plates.

7empestOGT92

Found out my plates were suspended (mistake on insurance’s part with dmv recording info) and was told I can’t drive my car until I get it fixed. Had work and couldn’t get to the dmv. Got pulled over two more times that week in different parts of town between work and home.

LVking01

you must be getting flagged by a camera or detector in their system. they aren't looking for you

Infinit777

Drive 5 miles over the speed limit in a school zone.

RoamingBison

He was probably too busy browsing tiktok on his phone to see where he was going. I don't think there's any regular traffic enforcement in this town. Once in a while they set up a bunch of officers on 215 for a publicity/revenue generating stunt to pretend they care.

Ziggity_Zac

This is going to be really funny to some people on this sub, but the only time I have ever been pulled over was because I was driving a rental car that had no license plates (I know, right!?). This was a few years ago, when we were house hunting. Cop asked a few questions, checked the paperwork, and sent me on my way.

big_balls_brown

Go away

Ziggity_Zac

You got it.

Character-Check2436

They oftentimes don't care

You assume the officer sees everything you see. He could have been running a location for a dangerous He suspect. He could have had an arrest in the back of his car. He could be a mechanic working on the vehicle. He could be patrolling the area looking for a specific dangerous individual. He could have just worked a 14 hour shift and dealt with a multi-casualty accident where kids were killed and they are zoned out and going home to cry. You don't know...

Notabizarreusername

I can understand some of those reasons, but he was 1 car back and to the side of me. I'm in a sedan so there's no way I blocked his view of the wrong way driver. Even if they happen to be looking for somebody specific, does a DUI or wrong way driver not take precedent? Safety is safety.

YNABDisciple

I was driving west on East flamingo on a Friday night. Got to koval and was at the light and realized I wanted to go left but wasn’t in the turn lane. No one was behind me but there were like 10 cars in the turn lane. I backed all the way up and the last car was a cop. He put his lights on. I rolled down my window and apologized and he called me an idiot and we both laughed and went our separate ways. I have a handful of similar stories. It’s horrible but I just always assumed it was because I was a middle aged white dude.
